I'm obsessed with Travelers notebooks lately. I just completed a Florida trip one that I took in March. Before I left, I prepped the pages with some decorating and each day I journaled what we did and then would skip about 3-4 pages so I could add pictures when I got back. Seven months later and I finally got around to adding the photos this weekend. I love it so much that I just prepped another one for an upcoming trip.
What do you use yours for? Are there any blogs or youtubers that you go to for inspiration? Do you make your own or buy pre-made?

I have a few regular sized TN and a couple of passport sized ones. The passport one I carry with me everyday. I take notes in it, sketch, etc. The regular sized ones go on trips with me. I have the Midori brand ones, and I use their paper because of the type of paper they use. It doesn't bleed through when you use markers and paints. I don't prep mine before a trip. I add ephemera I find on the trip, and take along some portable watercolors to use in them. I also bring a small alphabet stamp set and I take along my little Pogo printer, so I add pictures as we go. I limit it to only 3 pictures a day.
I do follow a few YouTubers and some on IG. On IG I follow mypaperprojects, seaweedkisses, patrickng, journalbean, paperandtwine, and plannerbug. Might be missing a couple. Some of these people also have YouTube channels.

I've used mine mostly for vacations. I did one from the Oregon Coast last year, just finished one from a long weekend at Schweitzer resort and worked this weekend on my 2 week Hawaii vacation - 2 TNs. I love them because I can include little bits of stuff I've collected. I print my photos small too. It is fun! My Hawaii ones I have prepped and took them with me and did not work on them at all on the trip - oh well... good intentions.

TNs rescued scrapbooking for me - the size and flexibility just work for my space and time. I do extremely light planning (mostly to-do lists) in one, notes and ideas in another, then I have one for doodling and watercoloring, and my "main" one I journal/scrap in, daily - sometimes with a photo if I have one, but more often than not without. I just journal the day and use up stash and make it pretty, whatever I feel like, and no need to fill a 12x12, print "perfect" large photos, deal with albums/PPs, and so on.
Gotta say buying journal covers can be addicting too! I also started making all my own booklets and page layouts, which is a game unto itself. I do sometimes buy blanks from Aliexpress, though, just because having a stack of blanks is convenient, but I will say that those aren't all good quality, so it's a gamble.
On YouTube, I've been watching My Little Journal, dearly dee, Essie Ruth, and James Burke, but honestly I still watch a lot of scrapbookers too (especially Irit Landgraf) because it can all be adapted so easily for the TN size.

I love traveler's notebooks! I subscribe to Cocoa Daisy and use the standard size Dori for my daily journal/memory keeping (one page a day). The remainder of my notebooks come from Yellow Paper House or Midori. In addition to the daily journaling/memory keeping, I have a notebook for gardening (photos, what worked/didn't work, plans for next year, plants I want to try, landscaping ideas, etc), a notebook for my card donations (with photos of the cards I send) and a notebook for month-at-a-glance (calendar on 2 pages for appointments, etc.). I'm getting ready to start one for home remodeling projects (to collect ideas while I'm saving money to begin said projects). I like what tsabhira said about TNs rescuing scrapbooking for her. I feel the same way. Love using bits of patterned paper, a photo or two, stickers or die cuts, stamps and a good amount of journaling.

I'm in the process of getting hooked on them too, but not so much as a scrapbook page/mini book substitute, although I do like that, but more as a journal/PL/planner hybrid thing. I wanted to try a dot grid page because I'm terrible at writing straight so I found a printable dot grid and made a bunch of pages. I have a cover that's a little wider than the Midori ones (I got it on clearance, it's a Webster's Pages one) so I'm making my notebooks a little wider which I think will be good - I use an A6 (~5.5" wide) hobonichi journal right now, which is a bit too wide for the grid spacing they use, and the TN are usually a little too narrow for my biggish writing. So I figured I could play around with the sizing and paper weight/color, etc. I use my journal as a place to store photos, stories, and paper ephemera, so I'm liking the idea of having one book per month for plans + goals + a calendar + journal/photo pages, another for a reading notes/journal, and maybe one more for my to do lists which I like to write with a Sharpie for some reason. I like Jacki Q on YT for creative journaling ideas. She doesn't necessarily use TNs but she does prep travel journals in much the same way you described.

joblackford, all of my inserts are either dot or grid for the same reason - to keep my handwriting straight. Thanks for the idea - I need to start one to track the books I read. Another Jacki Q fan here!

I love the TN size, but I think I have Blank Page Syndrome. A bit afraid to mess up my nice clean books! I am all organised to try it, even with a less sticky Cameo mat for cutting my paper - because I still work digitally then print and cut to do the pages. I can't freehand like paper people do

I'm the person who's hoarded notebooks even as a child because I'm scared of 'messing them up'. I remember getting a diary as a child that I adored. I could never bring myself to write in it. I love the idea of a TN but it's not for me.

Another shameless plug for my youtube. I follow My Little Journal and Dearly Dee, too, and my process videos are (I hope!) in their style. I do some TNs, pocket page layouts, traditional layouts, and recently a mini album. www.youtube.com/channel/UCmv8ma7yEFeAQiBqKA0gttQ

Enjoyed your videos. Thanks for sharing with us. I kind of see how they would rescue you from giving up scrapbooking now.

I love the TN size, but I think I have Blank Page Syndrome. A bit afraid to mess up my nice clean books! What IS the TN size? And are they all books with attached pages? I switched to 3 ring scrapbook albums b/c I like my pages to be in order but I don't scrap that way, and I am afraid of "messing up" a page that faces or backs a page I like. Even art journals, I am more likely to take out the page before I work on it. And I can mess up a cover pretty quickly with inky fingerprints. When I travel I journal nightly on 6x8 pages, immediately glue in tickets and other memorabilia. Sometimes add postcards. Then when I get home I print my photos and add one or two for each day to the back of the page. I like the Snap binders, b/c I can put in photo sleeves to add extra photos for some of our adventures. The only prep I do is titles of the places we will be. (most of my travel is on cruises and organized tours.)

I am all organised to try it, even with a less sticky Cameo mat for cutting my paper - because I still work digitally then print and cut to do the pages. I can't freehand like paper people do This is a problem I have more with big sheets of paper (fear of cutting them, if I cut off a bit, what if I want a whole piece later??), that sort of thing. Buying $2 journal inserts that I can remove and replace in my cover if I get bored or feel I mess up or just want a clean start has really helped me get over that, which in turn helped me get over my issues with breaking open (for example) new containers of ephemera or chipboard (no more, what if I want to sell it?! hangups). I do a hybrid thing that's been saving me money and space too. I have been buying collections from AC Digitals instead of buying physical product. Then I print what I actually want/need from the collection, in the right size for my journal so there's no wasted paper or paper taking up space. Anybody could do that for any size/format of scrapping, of course, but I never had a 12x12 printer, so I was always limited. And I think the ability to print small patterns for the booklet and print/cut my own flat (unlimited!) embellishments has specific applications for journalers. I really wanted to like Project Life when it came out because I love the cards, but for me it still had most of the same issues, a 24x12 layout took up my whole desk, tons of album space, a crapton of photo printing, etc. TNs sort of fill the same chronicling role, only they actually get me to journal almost daily!

The standard TN (standard midori) is 4.33 inches by 8.25 inches. Passport TN (passport midori) is 4.1 inches by 5.8 inches. Pocket TN is 3.5 inches by 5.5 inches. Then there is the A6 and lots of other sizes! My favorite is the standard because there is enough room for a photo & some journaling. I make my own TNs and shameless plug: I have an Etsy store that I will not list here because I don't want to break any rules. I make pet health tracker TNs, running tracker TNs, etc. I've loved TNs for years, less intimidating for me than a 12x12 page. I still do a monthly PL and DD BTW- will not give those up!

tsabhira I totally forgot that AC Digitals existed! Thanks for the reminder. I might need to stretch some leftover die cuts and elements for Christmas journaling with some Shimelle digital Xmas paper. Being able to size things is always a bonus for me. I find the 12" format much too big too, and Letter size just doesn't mesh well with photos and is still too big. Even 6x8 albums get so bulky and fat. I'm getting better at cutting into paper right away. I only have a few sheets that I can't bear to "ruin" right now. katyscrap - I just got to really hate the plastic pockets, and I always had too many words anyway, so I have done 2 years of journals with pictures stuck in as I wanted. They're not real photos - they're printed on plain paper to keep them thinner, not archival or anything, but they make me happy. I print photobooks for archival purposes. Whatever keeps up memory keeping, right? The format isn't as important as getting the stories down and playing with lovely things.

I’m addicted to TNs, and freely admit I’m a collector. I use them as planners, minialbums, notes, recipes....well, everything that can be put onto paper, really. Passport ones are used as wallets, and I like to change between covers frequently.

I love the fact that if I do PL by month next year in this format, the footprint will be about a shoebox of notebooks. In the long run, I think is so much more manageable than all the big 12x12 albums I have accumulated. I will still do them, of course, but this new format really appeals to me.

I really love the idea of them, but haven't quite gotten it together to use them consistently. I have a couple of the awesomely beautiful Webster's pages covers. I've even packed kits for trips, but didn't complete anything. I'd like to have one as a faith journal, and another for everyday thoughts and organizing, like a bullet journal with other random things in it. Maybe after the holidays...
