A preview indicates that Ben may be in his head a little too much....but I'm sure it is a red herring. No clue who is going home tonight.

I wish they had shown us more of Roark prior to tonight. I enjoyed her on tonight's show; she is clearly a student of the game. I can see them doing a Kelley Wentworth return for her where she is the one you are scratching your head over and wondering why she is there. That player tends to do well.

I can't even begin to talk about it because I am so not invested in anyone yet. It's been kind of boring. Not sure what's missing, but I don't even know anyone's name yet. I mean, I am bad at names and can go an entire season without knowing everyone. But usually by this time I know some of them.

Everyone seems to be playing an under the radar game this year. Joe is the only big personality and he didn't get much air time last night.
Once again the episode started with a reward challenge instead of any fall out from the tribal council. They did discuss the tribal after they won reward (bakery items, coffee & tea). Ashley & Devon confirmed they will work together and are hoping to pull Desi in if they end up at TC again.
Ryan was the week link for the losing team at the RC and the second team won a pitcher of ice coffee.
We had a lovely montage of everyone being grossed out by Cole double dipping, licking his fingers and sticking them back into shared food and eating more than his share of food. No one is calling him on it, just quietly judging him and being grossed out. Jessica & Dr. Mike went to get water and searched for a HII and found it. Neither is planning to share this information with Cole.
Chrissy was the weak link at the IC, falling off a balance beam while trying to move a ball in place through an upright maze. She pulled a Patrick and wouldn't tag out.
Ryan is in a tough place allied with both Ali & Chrissy who don't like each other (feel like I missed something here). Chrissy wants Roark gone, Ali wants Chrissy gone. Chrissy cleverly tells JP that Roark wants an all girl alliance and Ryan has to figure out who he will betray. At TC Roark came across as smug and confident and was blindsided. Ali is pretty upset and it looks like next week starts with her going after Ryan for cutting her out of the decision.

Great analysis of last night's episode bc2ca and I really enjoyed reading it because today my mind is a totally blank about what happened on TV last night even thought I watched the whole hour and enjoyed it being such a Survivor fan. But, it was so boring nothing stuck in my brain overnight! So thank you so much for your great play by play reminder above After Ryan's epic fail at the first challenge I was worried it could come back to haunt him but luckily no one on his team seemed to focus on it-at least not yet. Cole was very gross with his dining manners not to mention being very rude by hogging up so much of the food. This plus the fact that he can't keep his mouth shut is telling me he will hopefully have a bigger target on his back than Ryan (because I really like Ryan). But I personally think Ryan made a mistake voting Roark out over Chrissy. He has/had a solid alliance with Alli and it seems had one with Chrissy too. He was in a tough place last night having to choose between which one to keep as an alliance. After the Patrick move that Chrissy made I would have stuck with Ali as my alliance (everyone seems to like her) and voted Chrissy out. By not doing that he went against Ali's wishes and now has to face her wrath and disappointment. It's almost impossible to build back trust once you've broken it. So sad to see Ben react like he did to the bamboo popping in the fire like he did. I feel so much for him and all of our vets that come home with PTSD. He seems to have gotten his life back and is doing well. I wish the very best for him. I was wondering before the last challenge why there weren't more water challenges being that they are filming in Fiji. I've really been missing those. Must have to do with the water conditions, tides etc. Then in the 2nd challenge at least part of the challenge was in water. And yeah, I too wonder why the heck this season is still so boring. Maybe it's the cast? They dynamics of the cast? At this point I'm hoping they drop their buffs again soon and go to 2 tribes. Anything to change the dynamics and see if it can get more interesting. Oh looks like Cole (was it Cole?) may get taken out medically next episode due to the previews but then again we all know how they like to trick us.

It is an interesting cast this year. There are no strong personalities leading the tribes and other than Lauren and Patrick, no big personality clashes within the tribes. Even Joe never got traction creating chaos because his tribe was just steadily winning everything. As long as his tribe doesn't go to TC again, Joe will make the merge. If they end up at TC, I think he will be gone as Desi sides with Devon & Ashley. Other personalities like Joe have successfully kept people with them but I haven't seen him do anything to make Desi want to protect him or seen him partner with anyone on the original Healers. He targetted Mike but that is different than forming an alliance with a team mate or two. It really is going to be the battle of the quiet, strategic players which doesn't make for great TV. Or hasn't yet.
ETA I'm embarrassed I completely forgot to mention Ben's reaction to the popping bamboo. That was very honest and handled respectfully IMHO. I like that Lauren checked on him but didn't push.
It will be interesting to see if Ryan made the right choice. I think he sees Chrissy as potentially more loyal to him after he gave her protection at the first TC, whereas Ali is a true hustler and able to connect with more of the younger, physcial players.

Possibly major spoiler (so don't read it if you don't like spoilers) or it could be nothing (still, don't read it if you don't like spoilers). . . . . Ali tweeted and then deleted: Except rock climbing..my relationship with rocks isn't the best
