Must watch for anyone here who crafts, cooks and has a raunchy sense of humor. On TruTV. 👍🏻

Can you imagine how hilarious it must have been to have grown up in that family? David Sedaris is my sense of humor personified.

I can’t even imagine how much milk I would have squirted out my nose at that dinner table. I have listened to just about all of David’s books - I prefer to do the Audible versions because he always does the narration. I first fell in love with him decades ago when I heard him on This American Life.

From the second episode:
“It’s often been said that ugly people craft and attractive people have sex.” Said as the intro to a craft segment making placemats with shipping tape and coins.

I'm going to have to find that! I just spent "An Evening with David Sedaris" last Saturday - the third time I've been. My neighbor and I are huge fans so when he tours, we always go. It's so much fun. Her husband, though, when he found out how much we paid for tickets, said, "I'll read to you for twenty bucks!" He (David Sedaris, not neighbor DH) always makes me laugh. And I love Amy.

The show has been appropriately described as being for "the deranged domestic goddess within". DD came in because I was laughing so hard while watching yesterday so I made her watch the spanakopita making scene and coin & packing tape placement and both of us were in tears. When she was little she LOVED Martha Stewart, especially if Yiayia was visiting, and the two of them would watch together.

It is a weird sick hybrid of Martha Stewart-Alton Brown-Pioneer Woman-Pee Wee’s Playhouse. And hysterical if you are familiar with all of them and appreciate being able to make fun of the cooking and crafting worlds.

I kept asking myself what are you watching? I saw the TGIF episode.

When she added the cheese to it, well, I thought Martha would have peed herself a bit.

Well, and her having to go through umpteen bottles of glue to find one that hadn’t dried up had my husband in tears, because that is *so* me.
