Welcome to No/Lo. I decided to create weekly challenges to motivate & inspire myself & others to stop shopping (or shop mindfully) and start crafting. You do not have to post a project to participate in No/Lo. You can just check-in about your week, spending or otherwise & know that someone is listening. You can confess your shopping “sins” if you like Yes, for sure, you can post your projects here! NO/LO Oct 27, 2017 CHECK-IN: No crafty spending. Just bought some Christmas presents for my Mom, my Grammie & my god-daughter. PROJECT CHALLENGE: Paper Issues is having an online crop this weekend. Your project challenge for this week is to join the crop & participate in the conversation or in any of the online challenges they will have this weekend. If you do participate, please either post your project here or a link to your project here. BONUS POINTS: For tackling more than one Paper Issues challenge this weekend. Using the number 13, 31, 4, 7 or 8 on an y of your projects. Using triangles of any kind stamped, die cut, stickers, etc… Attachments:

Thanks for another challenge whambampam. No spending for me either this week. Good thing as I'm meant to be frozen! I will actually have some time to craft this weekend so will try and join in the crop. I have a kit from Cocoa Daisy with a fall/autumn theme that would be perfect.

I like this idea! Spending less on crafty items as the holidays approach is definitely on my agenda!
I resisted the Pinkfresh warehouse box last week. Instead of placing an order for $49 worth of items to qualify for ACOT's 20% off, I just bought a couple of things I needed and ended up spending about half that.
The Paper Issues challenge looks interesting. I'm crafting this weekend, so I will check it out.

I bought some retiring digital items all at 70% off and spent less than $20. I also bought using coupons 2 items that will be used for Christmas presents.
No time for the online crop for me. Unfortunately, all of my crafty time is spoken for with some sewing, a few layouts that need to get finished, a swap, and Christmas cards.

I just did some strategic shopping to try to stretch materials I already have. I'm still working on Christmas cards, so I got some cut-apart papers and some die cuts to go with stuff leftover from other projects. I have a busy weekend ahead so I don't think I'll be making much for the next few days.

I’m good on spending...I’m pretty committed to not buying anything until I’ve whittled my stash down considerably. I figure I’ll be able to shop again in 2019 ha! Im wrapping up Victoria Marie challenges from last weekend then rolling into the paper issues challenges. They both have great ideas and have really sparked my mojo.

I’m frozen for the time being except for the bday money my Mom sent me. As you may recall I was thinking about a WRMK typewriter. As luck would have it, someone in my neighbourhood listed a 1970s typewriter on Kijiji for $30! (I have been searching Kijiji for a long time and vintage typewriters are priced high where I live). I just picked it up and I am IN LOVE. It has a small profile so will fit nicely in my tiny craft corner, and it works well. I may need to get a new ribbon for it, but that’s it. I am super excited to use it on my scrappy projects.
So, with the money I saved, I can now afford to get the Epson Picturemate with the rest of my bday $$ instead of the much less expensive Selphy.
Scrappy serendipity!
I haven’t done any projects this week because I have been pulling all kinds of OT at work. I have tonight off though and I will be playing along. 😀

Bought a class for 12.00 and that's been my only shopping. I plan on purging paper and scrapping soon as possible but I have nerve pain in my back/shoulder right now, not sure how long until it gets better. Right now it hurts to breathe. Looking at Pinterest a lot for inspiration until I can get back to scrapping:)

bought 3 paper pads at Michaels (the $5 ones) - 2 christmas (Cranberry Christmas and Say Freeze) and a Navy Blues cardstock when I went in for my needed 8x8 page protectors.
BUT I went to HL for albums - didn't buy anything (but did get a raincheck on the albums since they were out of stock/one sale)

Not scrapping this weekend, but taking lots of photos of kids & grandkids. Was in M's yesterday to pickup som crafty supplies for my dgd. Had to go back TWICE to grab something she forgot the first time. But didn't get anything for myself.
Love the challenge checklist. Even without the details there is inspiration there.

I'm about half way through my stamp reorganization project.
I would love some advice if people have time.
I currently have one small rectangular basket w/Avery Elle pockets. Then I have 2 binders w/those pages that are cling on one side & magnetic on the other.
I like the concept of the binders, but I don't like the cling side - I have to put the stamps on them backwards and I have a hard time reading them. I tried putting them on "forwards" by attaching the stamp to acetate and then gluing the acetate to the cling (kinda defeating the whole point of the cling). That sort of works, but it's hard to move stamps around because the cling gets sticky. I spent yesterday cleaning off the goo. And now trying to figure out what to do.
Should I just get another basket and keep them all in pockets?
Put them back on the cling backwards?
Other ideas?
Thanks for listening.

grammadee - it's been a taking photos weekend here also - DD17 is camping with horses and she won 'most intriguing' costume and her group won 1st place in the horseback costume contest - she was War and their group were the Four Horseman of the Apocalypse. DD11 had STEM day at school Friday, a Hallowe'en party yesterday, and has a bowling party today... @zingermack - no ideas from me - my clear stamps are on their original backers in page protectors in a prong folder - I don't have a ton and I'm cheap, lol

Can you stamp the images on pieces of cs, then glue those pices to the backing beside or above the stamp?

I understand, this is what I will be trying: www.youtube.com/watch?v=-UJ74g36Ho4I just received the bags, now I just have to start... such a big job. Plus, I need to buy good quality magnet sheet for my dies. Save

dasmith2, ouch. I hope you feel better soon. @zingermack, can you just put a sheet in front of the clings with the stamped images? I'd probably use the acid free clear stuff (forget the name) to stamp on. Good luck. It's a project on my to do list. I did start my wood mounted, but haven't finished it yet.

Thanks all for your suggestions. You are so kind. Off to watch the youtube above. grammadee I thought of doing what you're suggesting w/the paper above the stamps, but I hate the thought of wasting so much cling space on cardstock. El cheapo, that's me. But I might try stamping on cardstock and just putting it in the binder in front of the cling page.

OK. Done! It's not amazing, but it's way better than it was. I *gasp* redid all the stamps and for some sets, I didn't put all the stamps back on new acetate. I put a big stack to give away if I knew I wouldn't use them (like flourishes, I never use flourishes). And then *double gasp* combined different manufacturers on the same sheet - so different makers' floral stamps are now together. It felt kind of nuts to do that, but that's how I think of them, not by maker. So, so far, so good. I need to do more labeling and stuff, but it's feeling better already. I also taught a card class yesterday as part of an auction item. I didn't design the cards, so, no credit there. A SU consultant designed and made the kits up for me and I taught the class only. But it was really fun. The people were all beginners and they were amazed what they could do. So, a good weekend. Thanks whambampam for the encouragement. I REALLY appreciate it.

@zingermack You're so welcome. I know it is soooo hard to let go. I gathered & organized all of my loose patterned papers & purged two bags to give to charity. I am so happy.

I have my stamps in Ikea boxes in a Avery Elle pockets, with divders made of cardstock and an sc tab die. I love the system. I can flick through what I have easily. The dies are either in with the stamps or in their own avery elle pocket on magnetic sheets. I get all of mine from either Ellen hutson or amazon.
