Anyone else have this problem? I'm pissed. It worked fine until the damn update!!
I reset. Hard reset. Apple cord. Outlet and computer. Plugged it in last night at 5% and this morning its at 2%.
Its a year old and im angry! Is this a plot to make money on repairs?
Is there a fix?

Have you tried a different charger and cord? DH was having trouble with his iPad Air2 not charging right and it turned out that the cord had gone bad. $10 and a new cord from the Staples clearance rack and he was back in business. For another one of our devices, it was the charger plug that died. It was one of the smaller phone ones that we have a bunch of from other devices, so we just tossed it and use a different one.

Also try cleaning out the port where the connector for the lightening cord goes in. Sometimes lint gets in there and prevents a solid connection for charging.

That happened to me too. If I remember correctly, I Googled it and found a fix. I should remember what I did. It was at the beginning of this month, I was leaving on a trip and wanted to get the problem solved before I left. I tried a lot of stuff before I got it fixed. That is one thing that gripes me with Apple.

I just read online in a photo group that some guy updated his computer and basically it turned it into a brick. He had to buy another $3600 computer (which is one of the reasons why I'm not an apple person).

I just had a lightning cable for my phone fail so do check another charger. I haven't updated to iOS 11 yet and will definitely hold off for a while!

Thanks everyone.
I read up that it’s an issue with the software with the upgrade. Hopefully a patch will be sent out soon.
I used another cord and got it too 100% but it took 2 hours where before it took leass than an hour.
I will be really ticked if this issue is not fixed by Apple. Their website has hundreds of complaints.

This has happened to me too!!! It’s not the cord. I am SO angry. And when I try to do the newest update 11.03 or whatever it is, it said it fails. I can’t get it to update now at all. Slow to no charge and won’t update. Ugh!!!

My daughter has had trouble charging her phone since she updated iOS as well. It’s very annoying.

UGH! I haven't updated and I am glad. I had a problem with my phone and it had to be factory reset. The code they sent was to some nonexistent phone (I made sure my backup was up to date before updating) and no one could help me. After much distress and MANY hours, my son was able to force the code to my phone so I could use it again.
It is NOT normal that this happens so often. There is almost no one that I know that hasn't had a problem like this with Apple products.
I hope yours gets fixed soon!

My phone keeps shutting down and is super slow since the update too.
DD has friend whose phone quit working after the update and they gave her a new one when the people at the apple store couldn’t fix it.

Mine charged last night to 100%. Took all night though.
I turned off background app refresh for all apps. Seems to have helped.

I haven’t, DH hasn’t and his employee hasn’t and we’re all on our second round of iPhones. I only had one update issue with my iPad, and I think it was more due to our internet dropping out than the iPad itself.

I have had to refresh my iPhone at times after updates. I'm not sure how to do that on an iPad, but on the phone you can try this: First, make sure that your phone is unlocked, as this trick will not work if it’s not. Next, you need to press and hold the power button for a few seconds until you get the Slide to Power Off screen. You’d normally use this to switch your phone off, so you can turn it back on and reboot it. However, this time, don’t touch the slide and, instead, take your finger off the power button. Now, press and hold the Home button and keep it depressed. After a few seconds, your phone will jump back to the iOS home screen. It may feel as though not much has happened, but your phone or tablet will have refreshed its memory and any broken apps or slowdowns should be fixed. Note, if when you pressed the home button down you just got the Siri prompt, this is because your device was locked when you held down the power button. Unlock your phone and repeat these instructions and you’ll be able to get it working

I still have not updated due to all the horror stories I'm hearing. DH updated his iPad when the update released and has had no problems. What to do, what to do?!?!

I've had it happen with other updates over the years, so I'm not surprised that it has happened again. How sad is that, to not even be surprised.

We updated my dd iphone 6plus that she bought with her own money. To the newest update. She did it normally like she has always done with updated in the past. The update made her phone a brick. Its a yr old so Apple wont do anything for her.
I felt bad and bought her an iphone 6. Its not as nice as the plus. I cant believe apple is not standing behind their products.
The iphone 6 plus is now on ebay for sale for parts.... hopefully I can get some money back. Tough lesson for a 17 year old.
I have not heard anything about a "patch" coming out to resolve this problem with the update....

So I just updated to iOS 11.1 last night on my 7 plus and noticed significant loss of battery life. To the point I would open my phone and lose a percentage point within 2 minutes. I poked around and realized the e-mail fetching was set to automatic, so it was constantly running in the background. I turned that off in Accounts & Passwords and my phone is back to normal.
