I have a Babyliss pro hair dryer that is several years old. When I got it, I remember thinking that it was much faster than my precious dryer. Now I am wondering if the newer models are significantly better than mine or not. They seem really expensive but if there is something that would help to dry my hair faster and minimize damage, it might be worth it. What are your experiences?

Sitting in line I need a good hair dryer. Mine has went down hill pretty fast. I have to dry waist length hair, straight as possible then use a flat iron on it.

I don't know about the hairdryers but I use this stuff and I swear it gets my thick, middle of the back hair dryer so much quicker than without it. The Small Things Blog talked about it recently, though I have been using it for about a year.

Great question! I have long, thick hair and my blow dryer is on its last legs. I would love to find a powerful dryer that works fast and won't damage my hair.

It might help a tiny bit, but it still takes longer than I would like to fully dry my hair. Especially if I want to straighten or curl it.

It seems like a t3 would be great but they are expensive. Ebay has some that are decently priced but I never know if I should trust that.

The smell is good but doesn't linger

I have a CHI that I picked up at Ulta a couple years ago that I still like a lot. After washing my hair I always wrap my head in a microfiber towel for a bit. It really helps remove excess water while reducing frizz. You should never rub your wet hair with a cotton towel.

I love my Babyliss! Mine is older--from 2007. I assume it still works fine--haven't used it in a while. I try to wash my hair in the early evening and let it air dry. It's still wet when I go to bed, but not dripping.

Costco has the T3. It's 79.99- sometimes less with an in-store coupon. I can't believe how fast that thing dries my hair.

I bought this Babyliss elegance last week (it wasn't on sale then, dammit!) and it's great. It dries quickly and leaves my hair really smooth, and it's pretty

I am a stylist so ive tried a few brands over the years. The brand i have been impressed with and recommeded to clients is rusk. The ctc model is light weight, hot and works well! About $100 online.
I recently tried the dyson, its a nice dryer, light weight and makes the hair shiny. I dont like it enough for the 400$ price tag, not that imprssive for such a high price.
Hot tools brand is sold at sallys and i have always found them to be inexpensive and work well if you want something more affordable.
My criteria when shopping blow dryers is does it get really hot, light weight because im using it for hours a day and lastly, i try to get one thats not so loud. Again, my recomendation is the rusk ctc.

I probably should look up how it works since it is probably a stupid question. Lol. Not sure what the AC motor means, either, but it sounds like it is supposed to be a good thing.

I have a couple of rusk speed freaks (one that stays in travel stuff) that I love. I used to have the Conair infinity but hubby took that one to work...not sure what for something with computers...sounds weird right? I liked that one too but am just used to my everyday speed freaks. My BIL works for Conair so he can get good products for next to nothing for me! My hair is super thick, curly, and long It dries out well with diffuser and speed freaks. And ceramics last forever.

I switched from a regular blow dryer and round brush to a Revlon Hot Air Dryer. Now I can dry and style my thick hair (shoulder length bob) in about 10 minutes instead of 25 minutes. Shiny, smooth and straight. I've also used the L'Oreal Blow Dry It Quick and it definitely helps cut a bit on drying time when I used the regular dryer. It does have a tropical/Coppertone kind of scent. Not the greatest but I got used to it and it does fade.
