OMG.. I am so livid at my dog (really my 20 year old DD's dog)... I had my OA papers out and by my desk after doing a project, then was moved to put away. Apparently somewhere along the line Chippy (suspect) decided to take a taste of it. I just found the evidence (who knows how long ago this happened).. and all the corners of the 12x12 paper are chewed up. Suspect has never chewed on anything. Suspect will get into trash occasionally (suspect can be gross)... but never chewed on anything. Now my MOST favorite paper is mostly ruined... about 50 sheets off ragged ends... Suspect is now in a holding cell (DD's bedroom) and he is not to return to the scene of the crime. I can't even look at it... I just weep.. Tomorrow, trial will start. And I will be the judge. Sentencing will be harsh. Hard labor.... black/white stripped uniform. 20 years at least. It is a shame that the suspect is kinda cute... maybe the other cell mates will be easy on him. He is kinda of a scrawny thing.. (think Barney Fife)... weighs all of four pounds. He better toughen up.

Oh dear Is it wrong that in the midst of this horror I smiled at your account, "I will be the judge!!!" made me giggle.

The pooch poached the paper. The pooch poached the paper. The pooch poached the paper.
Well, that's a very unfortunate tongue twister. I think someone is not going to be getting extra treats for a while...
Condolences. I hope you can salvage enough of each paper to make larger design elements for your layouts. I can't help but wonder whether the dog figured out those were your favourites (maybe smelled your scent on the stack?) and innocently assumed that meant it was something real good and worthy of giving a chew. *hugs*

Oh no! That seems like such an odd thing for a doggie to chew on! Is there any way you can trim off the nibbled ends and still use the rest of the paper? Maybe mount it on 12x12 cardstock to make it the right size?

Bad Dog!
I hope you can salvage something from it – the paper, and the relationship with your dog.

Your honor my client, the respected canine in the vest sitting on the defendant's table, would like to plead temporary insanity brought on by the overwhelming beauty of the papers and at least 30 minutes since his incisors were last exercised, which I think you will agree, your honor, is far too long for a canine in his condition.
Thank you.

Oh my! 🤣at your retelling. Hopefully, the judge will go easy on the first time offender, and offer time off for good behavior.
I do hope you can save enough of each sheet to still have plenty to work with.

There must be a misunderstanding.

Someday, you will scrap this, when the hurt is lessened. I hope you will use one of the papers in question to do so.

I dunno, without any video evidence I think a good attorney could get the cute (I'm assuming cute here) little pooch off. I'm sorry your paper was ruined, I hope some can be salvaged.

I think we need to see a picture of the perpetrator and his victim in order to decide guilt or innocence.
i.e., this thread is useless without pictures!

nooooooooo! that super sucks!! i would do a LO using at least one of the papers, chew marks and all, and a photo of the perpetrator with a sign reading, “i’m such a pig i eat scrapbook paper between meals!” or something along those lines. i’ve never had trouble with my cats getting into stuff, although i do find cat hairs all over my pages, generally stuck in the adhesive and poking out behind pictures and such

Oh no! Worse than awful. It's not like you can just buy more.
950 Nancy is possibly right. The cat may have done it. I had one that would chew the corners of my cardstock, which is the reason I have to store all my paper in the closet. One of my friends suggested I start a new trend-perforated style distressing.

Verdict is still out.. The jury can't come to an agreement. Some points I will answer (as the judge)
1. No cat whatsoever. Although there is a fish in the same room. Ummmm. 2. Is dog cute? Well, if you think something between a rat with huge eyes and ears and wirey hair.. with skinny legs is cute, well ya, he could be considered cute.. something his owner is only capable of. 3. I can still use 'said' papers and trim down a bit and mount on cardstock.. I GUESSSSSSS... 4. No he has to pick OA paper. NOT the damn ugly stuff I have hidden somewhere.. couldn't go and find that... nope, not Chippy. 5. Chippy was a bad boy today and got into the stinky trash, so that isn't helping himself. Chippy is going to find himself at the homeless shelter with his little tin water bowl and little backpack on his back with a few pieces of food.
I have never posted pictures... so if someone could help, I would be glad to post some pictures.. Maybe highest bidder can have him.. I'll trade dog for OA paper

how horrible! (at least he has good taste, right? lol!)
one of our dogs LOVES washi tape- apparently it's very tasty- and he's eaten quite a few rolls of it (when the cats knock it onto the floor, that is) so I know how you feel. But the OA paper?? awful!!

(This thread is hilarious and I mean that in the most considerate way possible!) but I am truly sorry workingclassdog. Of all the papers he surely could have chosen to snack on, he chose OA. That boy is a stinker!
