My dd (14) has Dysautonomia and with that a common sub condition of extremely low immune system (509).
Allergy Immunology has stated that if dd falls below 500 or becomes sick again multiple times we will need to look at IVIG treatment.
Abby has been sick twice in a month and may be coming down with something again.
Stress is certainly making her Dysautonomia and POTS worse and this week her legs gave out 3 times. I had to pick her up after 2 hours at school and when she got home she crashed on her bed and slept for 3 hours. She did so again today!
I know the 100° weather didn't help either.
For those whose kids have had IVIG, can you tell me about it? Any complications? Pre medicated with iv benedryl? 12 hour, 24 hour treatment?
I know after a year of IVIG we can go to injections. Anyone do those? Painful?
Did IVIG help? Allergy Immunology said its a 50/50 chance that it will work due to this being a result of her Dysautonomia.

I don't have any info to offer, but I will add my prayers that you find the answers and that your DD can get the help that she needs.

So sorry she is dealing with this. My daughter has POTS along with other issues but not this particular one you are talking about. POTS effects patients SO, SO differently. I have a friend in town whose daughter also has POTS, and we all see the same doctor at Duke. Anyway, her daughter and my daughter present VERY differently. POTS can truly do so many strange things to a person. Praying you can find what works to help her get better!

No advice, just offering my prayers that your DD improves.
Hugs, mama. I can't imagine how difficult this is for you, too.

Just hugs from me too. DD19 has had Dysautonomia/POTS with chronic migraine since age 12, and had to drop out of school. She doesn't have the autoimmune component, so I don't have any advice. Just hugs.
