For two days now when I come to this site on my iPad, I keep getting new screens saying I have been infected with a virus. Sometimes I am taken to a google page. It is all very strange and VERY annoying. Is this happening to anyone else?

Yes. My home network kicks me off the site saying that it has detected malware on the site.

Yep, it’s happened a lot in the past two days. In Safari, but only on this site. So annoying. When it starts, I close down my tab and start over again later.

Yes, me too! I started a thread about it in the support section, hoping admin might be able to give us some advice. I can't remember how to report something like this, and couldn't find anything under "Help".

iPads can't get viruses. It’s malware on the site. Probably someone planted a redirect ad.

I get that sometimes on my phone, but you don't really have a virus. It wants to redirect you to a site where you pay for virus removal. What's that called, adware? IDK. I close the window and my browser when that happens and start again. I have Norton on my phone and scans never show any viruses.

Yes. It's happened several times in the last few days. I did some research and found that sites can sometimes become infected/hacked with software that bounces users to other sites, often to ones that try to frighten you into buying some sort of antivirus software. I hope that's all it is. I usually go to my iPad settings and delete all history and cookies. It's only happening to me here.

Try a reset on your iPad. You won't lose anything.

Ipads CAN get infected, but you aren't. It's from a random ad. Some ad networks don't vet their clients or the second or third tier ad networks they resell space to. It's what we call scareware. Close out and don't interact with it.

Thanks for the info everyone. It’s so annoying! I too close my tab and start again. And thanks so much oaksong for letting admin know! I never remember how to report things either!

Probably someone planted a redirect ad. Yup, that's what it will be. Don't click on anything, close out, and report the ad so Proboards can ensure it is removed from circulation. There's a "Report Ad" link at the bottom of every page.
