missbennet- Have you tried cream cheese pancakes/waffles? Blend 2 eggs, 2 oz cream cheese, cinnamon, and sweetener- I use a tablespoon of sugar free Torani Salted Caramel syrup. I've tried them as pancakes and always make a complete mess. But put them in waffle iron and oh wow- they're great. I can usually get 3 small waffles out of this- in a small Cuisinart waffle iron. You'll think you're eating real batter! As for "crackers", I like Parm Crisps. I can't eat many because they're very salty and rich. Good to use to choke down that egg salad!

missbennet those pancakes/waffles sound delicious. I'm going to share that recipe with my dd. My granddaughter has a wheat allergy and these would be great for her. TFS!

I've made those as pancakes and use lemon flavor instead of cinnamon...they are so good! Sometimes we bulk them up a bit with coconut flour, but it's not necessary. I adore those Parm Crisps - they do make good croutons, but I have to confess, I have eaten them as a meal on an airplane before! They travel well.

missbennet- I'll have to try the lemon. I have used coconut flour, too- that stuff is so dense and really sucks up the eggs!

Burger places don’t even blink any more when you ask for it without the bun. And I agree - most bread feels like “what’s the point” these days. Tasteless. LOL...I have to laugh at this! I actually couldn't leave to get food. My supervisor traveled 30 minutes to bring me whatever I wanted. I couldn't think of anything, so I just asked for a quarter pounder, no bun, no ketchup and no onions and a salad. He was like "what?!" So I repeated it. I've never ordered from the McDonalds here an order like that. He said he got "the look" and a pause. But he got it! Next time, I'm going to order a DOUBLE Quarter Pounder, because one patty was not enough! I had a rough couple of days. I was stuck working again last night which I wasn't prepared for. They brought in a few pizzas for us. So I grabbed 2 slices and just ate the toppings. One was the basic pepperoni and cheese, and the other one was a white veggie pizza. Very good! But it took all I had in me not to eat the crust. I did have a couple of nibbles though! I track all my food in MFP, and it was hard to figure out how to track that! I think I was close enough!

Hi all.. Yesterday was rough with all the candy around, but I managed to only eat 4 fun sized Almond Joys. We went to a friend's house for TOT pre-dinner and they had pizza, etc but my sweet friend made me a Trader Joe's cauliflower pizza and it was GREAT! She topped two different kinds, one she used BBQ sauce and chicken, and the other she did just cheese and veggies. I loved it, and didn't miss the regular pizza TOO much. I missed the fat though, she used fat free cheese or something so it was not quite as satisfying as if I'd done like you, @jigglypuff and ate the top off the regular pizza. I swear I wanted to so bad but I appreciated what she did for me so much that I stuck with my special pizzas.

I've had homemade cauliflower pizza before, and I was not a fan. But back then I was a carb addict thru and thru. So of course I wouldn't like it. I should give it another try. I'm a month in of low carbs and am trying many other different foods that I've stuck my nose up at before! LOL! I do like mashed cauliflower! But only the first rendering of it. It does not do leftover very well! I have also tried avocado and I've grown to love it! Zoodles, spaghetti squash which by the way, has a lot of carbs in it! So not trying that again, but I liked it.

If you have a Trader Joe's I highly recommend their frozen cauliflower pizza crust. It's almost buttery, it was really good. You pre-bake it to get a nice toast on it and then top it.

I saw your other post today about handing out candy, and I realized a) not enough people in my own neighborhood were doing it and thus, there were hardly any kids and b) I wanted to, but I'm afraid to be left with candy which we do not have in the house at all. SOMEONE can't be trusted, kwim? So we hid from the children with the lights off, like a couple of pansies. I did kid my husband about maybe we could hand out single serving bags of mixed nuts, but we didn't want our house egged.

We are going to a friend's house tonight to watch the final WS game (Go Blue!) and I'm going to take some of it to share with them. I'm taking over an Impossible Cheeseburger pie (that old Bisquick fave) because it's fast and easy and i have everything on hand to make it, but I'm driving through Chik Fil A on the way over to get myself a grilled chicken sandwich and a side salad. I know this thread title says low carb, but I thought we were going to do this for low carbers AND IFasters, right? Cause I try to do low carb as much as possible, but I more track my WW points and do Intermittent Fasting.

Even at airports I can find single serving meat, like roasted chicken in a ziploc type bag. It does make me laugh eating meat out of a baggie, then a couple of hard boiled eggs and raw veggies or whatever else I scrounged up. I have a mental map of the low carb options at all my usual airports. McDonald's ain't great, but it will do in a pinch! How was the McD patty alone? Their meat looks so sad and bland in the burgers, I've been afraid to try them for patties.

It was served on a lettuce leaf with a couple of pickles. I forgot to request extra pickles. But like I said, one patty wasn't enough. I was hungry! I barely cleared 800 calories that day because when I got home I just went straight to bed because I had to go in early the next day. I wasn't expecting to stay late again, so I didn't plan again. I'm happy that the McDonald's near me does that.

I don't have a Trader Joe's nearby. Nor a Whole Foods market. Or anything good like that! LOL! I live in a little town that at least has a McDonald's, Subway, and other little diner/eateries. The nearest grocery store is Price Chopper, and their low carb selection is pretty bad. They do have a great produce section though. So there's that.

I made this for dinner Keto Cauliflower and Cheese and am just waiting for the kids to get home so we can eat it. It looks and smells delicious! We're having it as a side with bacon-wrapped pork tenderloin and a big pot of steamed green beans.

I'm discouraged!!! Having only "cheated" once in the past three weeks but I haven't lost a pound. It is a fantastic diet for my blood sugar, but so far not effective for weight loss. Chicken, salads, sugar free jello, eggs. I take several walks a day. Any suggestions? I feel your pain. I'm pleased with the change in my blood sugars, but getting frustrated with no weight loss showing up on the scale. However, my clothes are looser, so maybe (hopefully) my body is just resisting change right now. I feel good eating this way, and I'm just going to keep on keeping on. I am going to try not to weigh again until Dec 1 and just focus on my health. I'm walking six days a week, giving myself one day of rest! .

I made this for dinner last night - and had enough for dinner tonight, too. I cut the recipe in half, and it still made a lot. DH really liked it - I liked it too, but not as much as he did. I didn't think the bacon mixed in with the ground beef really made much difference. Next time, I think I will just use a little bacon and crumble it on top of the casserole with the melted cheese. This week as I've been getting back on plan and doing well, I've been wondering if my target calories were low enough to actually lose any weight. My max is 1805 (I'm tall) and a ceiling of 99 g carbs. Some sites listed my TDEE as not much higher than that, like 1847 or something (oh, middle age, why are you taking my calories away), but I know if I go much lower than that, I get hangry and feel deprived.
This morning I'm down a pound, which brings me into the realm of about 1.5-2 pounds for the week. I know it's partly water, so we'll see if this trend holds. I'm not looking forward to reducing my calories as weight goes down, so I guess I will have to ramp up exercise a bit.

I need breakfast help please - I can NOT do IF and skip breakfast (diabetic) but I struggle with low-carb at breakfast because I'm not a morning person, I don't want to have to cook breakfast, and I really need something I can just grab and eat....which means I usually end up with something high carb because it's quick and easy.
Ideas?

Ideas? When I can't cook, I go to dairy (but I eat moderate carb, not low low) and have cottage cheese and greek yogurt, both full fat. So the cottage cheese I eat is 240 cal, 6 carbs, 10 fat, and 28 protein and that's before the yogurt. Instead of yogurt, you can also add flavored protein powder. I know cottage cheese is not for everyone, but it is a great easy source of protein. If I really have zero time, I'll have a breve from a drive through: espresso + heavy cream. That thing is a beast, and I'm not hungry for hours after that. Otherwise, you could just eat meat - cold chicken, salami, jerky, something like that. I know some people eat fish for breakfast, I can't quite warm to that, but it's an option. It helps to not worry about "breakfast specific foods" and eat whatever works, even though it's morning. You could also make egg muffins ahead with whatever you want and just pop them in the microwave.

I’m on day 3 of an extended fast, not sure when I am quitting. I’ve made it 5 days in the past, would like to go 7 if possible. I am hoping to break through to my lowest weight so far... my weight comes off super slowly. I switched to one meal a day and have lost a couple pounds this month, so that’s nice.
I made a goal not to eat sugar at all during October, and I made it... through Halloween and everything. I’m considering extending it through Thanksgiving. It hasn’t been that hard at all, really. And I’ve started exercising which I haven’t done since... ever.

Yes, what CarolinaGirl71 said. You don't have to eat typical breakfast foods for breakfast. Prepare something the night before, and heat it in the microwave in the morning. Or leftovers from dinner. Don't think you have to have eggs/bacon/etc for breakfast. For myself, I LOVE bacon and eggs! I could eat that all day long! I'm only a month eating ketogenic, and I did well last month. I lost 15 pounds. So pretty happy with that! This month, I'm trying to be more selective. I track my macros and all the nutrients on MFP, and I noticed that my saturated fats are higher than my unsaturated fats. So now, trying to figure out the best foods so I get more unsaturated fats. Bacon has only saturated fats. So thinking it's time to limit it. Eggs are ok I think. Some labels only say they have saturated fats. But I've found another label that lists the unsaturated fats too. I've read that free range eggs have less saturated fats. Of course they are more expensive. So I'm on a mission to make my meals better. I lost weight last month, but I think its just from having a lot less sugar. Now that my body has adapted to that, I need to amp out my meal plans. If anyone has any tips, suggestions, etc...I'm very open to them!

Around here, that would be a dinner food when I have time/energy to make them I have been doing a 16/8 IF and I do have time to make bacon and eggs in the morning, so I cook them and put them in a microwave safe covered dish, and bring it to work with me. When Lunch time rolls around, I simply reheat it in the microwave. Tastes just the same. So you could do that if you really want eggs and bacon in the morning. Just cook it up that night, next morning pop in the microwave for a minute and a half, and it's good to go!

I got back on track hard core this week and I'm down 4 lbs. At least 3 of that is the water weight I have been losing and gaining all summer because I wouldn't stick to one thing. I'm on board now for Keto/low carb. I love the food and I'm not hungry all time or snacking all day. I also don't have the blood sugar crashes I get when I'm eating a lot of carbs. I made the fat head pizza for dinner last night and OMG that stuff is the bomb! And very filling. linda - for breakfast, I keep a few hard boiled eggs on the ready and pair it with some nuts or black olives. I also love smoked salmon spread with cream cheese roll ups with some avocado. And I have never been brave enough to go through the drive up and order a burger with no bun, but I will definitely get my courage up the next time!

I lost 1.2 pounds this week after having a slight gain last week. Life is starting to slow down since football season is almost over. I really need to add more exercise to my life. DH and I are planning to excercise together in the evenings, so hopefully that will help.

Good luck to everyone! Just know that you can do it!
I just found this thread. I have lost 7 pounds in two weeks. Last night I cheated. So restarting today.
I know some of you are having trouble with breakfast. I usually have 2 eggs, half advocado (good fat/carb) and sometimes I have a clementine.
