with your husband and 17 yr old dd what would you do? NOT DISNEY... We have one day to burn before we leave for our cruise in April.
This will be a Saturday. We are flying into Orlando and renting a car for 1 day. Our cruise leaves out of Port Canaveral Sunday.
Or are there neat things to do in Port Canaveral, besides the Space Center?
We will have all day Saturday. We arrive at 8 am ....

For food & drink - We loved Fishlips! It's right there and you can watch all the cruise ships come in. FishlipsI think it's about an hour away from the Orlando Airport. Cocoa Beach is nice too.

My happy place is Universal, so I'd probably go there, especially if I had any Harry Potter fans who haven't been yet. There are some fun restaurants in CityWalk if you didn't want to do the parks.

I'd find a beach somewhere and chill.

I'm a Disney person, and the day before our cruises we've spent either in one of the parks or just at Disney Springs (the former Downtown Disney)or going around to check out the different resorts. If you don't want to do the Space Center, there are nice beaches in Cocoa Beach where you could spend the day. There are the real kitschy-touristy things on I Drive like Ripley's Believe It or Not. Like others have mentioned there's Universal. If you don't want to do the parks there I think the new waterpark might be open (they were building it last year when I was there for a conference.)

I would go dance on tables and throw napkins at Taverna Opa!

I live in a quaint little Mayberry RFD type of town just 20 minutes northeast of the airport called Winter Garden. It's a beautiful little downtown, with an awesome farmers market on Saturday with all sorts of vendors and food. The downtown itself is also flowing with just neat little shops of food and shops and there is also a micro brewery called the Crooked Can that can be found in the Plant Street Marketplace right in the heart of the little downtown. You will not be disappointed....the weather is perfect for strolling through the town.

I'd go to Universal Studios.

One day - Universal, I think. I would get the two park, one day pass with express and make the loop from the entrance of one park through everything in that park, then take Hogwarts to the other park and do that park and exit from the second park.
Alternatively - Aquatica is IMO the best water park in town.
