Haha, too soon?! I’m invited to an ugly Christmas sweater party and wondered if anyone has any suggestions on where to find a hideous sweater that’s not too expensive (as I probably won’t wear the sweater again, I would prefer not to break the bank!) I found one on Etsy for my husband but can’t find any for me that aren’t priced on the higher end.

My husband bought an ugly sweater suit at shinesty and I got the coordinating dress. He won the contest at school but not that many showed up in sweaters. He didn't buy it for that contest, just because it was so ugly, lol.

I bought one last year at JC Penny's. I think I paid $9 or so for it.

I was just in our local Walmart (I'm in Canada though) and they had a whole display of "Ugly Christmas Sweaters"!!

I got mine at rustyzipper.com (online vintage store) a few years ago. It was the real deal, from back in the days when women wore them with pride.

I have seen some winners at our local thrift stores. I also have a winning denim shirt with a Santa head on it. Yes, I wore it because I loved it 20 years ago.

Thrift stores (but with the rise of ugly sweaters being a trend don't know if there is a good selection anymore?) The grocery store I work at just put a bunch out (my grocery store has a big clothing section) plus other departments. Maybe some kind of discount cheapie store (can't think of any names.. something like Gordmans)
I saw one though at work with the ugly sweaters but it was adorable. On the front was a a black sheep (just his face with big doe eyes) and it says above his head "Baaah" and on the back was his backside with "Humbug" above it.. the sweater is plain red and the sleeves are black/white... I think it is really cute for a fun ugly sweater contest.

I saw one on my FB feed today. It was an ugly sweater with a stocking knitted on the front. But, it was like a very large pocket. And in the stocking pocket, you store a bottle of wine. Totally cracked me up.

Today at Staples in the checkout they had a little pack of "instant ugly sweater" stick on embroidered patches. I thought that was rather clever.

For sure go to your local Goodwill. They should have plenty.

Last year I saw some at Michael’s and you could use a coupon on them to get 40-50% off. I’ve seen some clever DIY ones on Pinterest made by taking a string of mylar garland and tacking it on the front of a regular sweater in the shape of a pine tree and hanging actual small plastic ornaments on it.
