It's all about the couch nap. Now that is a good feeling on a rainy weekend afternoon.
Bed naps are only for when I'm sick. Bed gets made daily.

I hate naps in an unmade bed. My favorite sleep is the one where you've just changed the sheets and the bed is freshly made. OF COURSE! I make sure to shave my legs on clean sheet day too.

I don't nap but I hate an unmade bed. If I lie down during the day it's on top of my made up bed with my blankie. 😜

considering we hardly ever make the bed, it's true for me. While it IS nice to get into a freshly-made bed, I get the comparison of 'familiarity' with an unmade bed.
ETA: I totally agree that "bed naps are for when you're sick" and napping on the couch is better. I can't take a nap in bed-- at least not underneath the covers.

I nap on the couch. Problem solved. This is almost right for me. I nap in my big old chair. Problem still solved! With all the sitting around I’ve had to do over the last 6 weeks, I have totally mastered the art of chair napping. I have a big fluffy square pillow that goes behind my back, two pillows that go under my foot that needs to be elevated on the ottoman, a new fluffy cozy throw from Costco to go over me, a hooded sweatshirt with the hood up and coming down over my eyes to block the light and a little dog either next to me or laying right on me. I can nap like that for 2-3 hours. It doesn’t hurt that my current various ailments make it difficult to sleep at night so I’m constantly tired! I wouldn’t be comfortable at all sleeping on top of a crisply made bed. I have a whole assortment of pillows and blankets and stuff that all needs to be arranged just so in order to get restful sleep in my bed. DH can’t stand having his sheets and blankets tucked in at the bottom so I have given up doing that every day. Now I just pull the sheets and blankets up neatly at the top and call it good. The only time the bed is actually made is on clean sheets day.

It appears napping on top of a bed is a thing a lot of people do. I still don't understand the statement posted by the OP. It's comfy on top of a bed or under sheets when you take a nap. FTR, I do not have a throw on my bed, and I have an electric blanket under the comforter that the manufacturer recommends NOT to sleep on top of. I also sleep on a couch every night and take naps in a bed, so....

I worked the night shift for a long time, so sleeping during the day is easy for me and I love a long nap. I like to be snuggled up in my bed for good sleep, but I will occasionally rest under the throw blanket.

Naps happen on the couch with a throw. Bed gets made as soon as I step out of it (or dh if he was the last one out.)

I never nap on an unmade bed because the bed is made every morning. If I nap on the bed, it's on a throw blanket on top of the bed. I don't find relaxation in an unmade bed.

I make the bed everyday, I prefer it to look tidy. I never nap.

I cannot sleep in made bed. It is too tight and confining. I like the sheets and blankets loose and not tucked in. That's where I'm confused! I never tuck sheets in, only at the bottom! If everything is pulled up, it's made. To me a "made bed" is very smooth, tucked in tight all around, and doesn't look rumpled. I am a messy sleeper. Multiple sheets, blankets and pillows, loose and strewn about. Pulling the comforter over it all....it is lumpy, bumpy and rumpled. To me, that is unmade.

I’m not a napper. The only time I sleep during the day is when sick.
But I do have hard and fast “rules” about my bed. It’s made properly every morning. I shower at night because I love sliding all clean into a crisply made bed. Sheets are changed a minimum of once a week. There’s nothing better than fresh-smelling clean sheets.
The reference to a nap in an unmade bed doesn’t sound welcoming to me.

If I nap on the bed, it's on top of the made bed with a blanket. I can't stand the feeling of getting into an unmade bed. If for some reason it's not made in the morning. I will make it before I go to the bed at night. I like the sheets tight and wrinkle free when I climb in.

No no no no just no. A nap is on top of the made bed. That way I get to use the comfy throw I so artfully fluff over the footboard every day. Then I feel better about it not just being there for show. =). YES!! A nap is on top of a made bed with a light blanket or throw. Not under the covers, that is for night time sleeping. Geez. ***I think this discussion my fall into the wash cloth or no wash cloth?

I make my bed every day. A nap is on top of the made bed with a cozy blanket. That's me in a nutshell. I actually have a nap blanket that I keep in the linen closet for when I take a nap. Even when I'm sick once the sun is out my bed is made.

I'm a poor sleeper. I can only really sleep in bed, with all the sheets and blankets wrapped around me like a burrito. I rarely make the bed and while I might take a quick doze on the couch, I don't really fall asleep truly. So for a real nap I'm in bed, wrapped up like a burrito.

We are all morning bed makers in my house. You will never come to my house and see an unmade bed. So no, crawling to nap into an unmade bed screams 'icky' to me, not inviting. My DD (11) likes to get into under her covers to nap, and IDK why it drives me nuts. She has a beautiful throw. I'm horrible, I make her get back out from under, straighten her bed up again and use the throw. I'm seriously trying to teach her to appreciate a pretty, neat bedroom before she turns into a teen and I no longer control that. Older DD is an absolute slob, but she's got her own place now so I never have to see it any more.
