So happy I'm not the only one still carrying a flame for Home Front! I wanted to see more of Ginger's new TV show, and what would happen with the English woman dating Jeff's baseball coach.

I was really sad when Party of Five ended because I felt like I wanted to know how their lives turned out. It's like I thought of the characters as real people.

China Beach! Honorable Mentions: -thirtysomething -My So Called Life -The West Wing -Gilmore Girls -Buffy -Angel -Firefly -Battlestar Gallactica -Breaking Bad I agree with so many of these! China Beach, for sure Firefly (of course) Angel Buffy Battlestar Gallactica Also: Northern Exposure Friday Night Lights Seinfeld And anything Star Trek. Enterprise was pretty awful at first, but was improving and it's just sad not to have something Trekkie to watch right now.

I loved Providence, FNL, and an oldie...Moonlighting! My DD(1) is named after Cybil Shepard's character in that show... I was thinking that I didn't really miss any tv show but Moonlighting I did love that show.

Only two people have mentioned NYPD Blue - why? It was the first TV show that made me cry buckets for days afterwards! The West Wing is my favourite for sure, but I would also include ER, Friends, and Murder One. They only did two seasons of it, but I thought it was amazing.

Friday Night Lights Gilmore Girls Parenthood
They are all shows about the characters and "real life" than anything else, so I think they had endless stories they could tell.
And I also think My So-Called Life was an utter gem. I don't think it could have gone on forever, but a couple more years would have been great.

West Wing could definitely have gone on forever, as far as I'm concerned.
I loved Homefront, 30Something, My So Called Life, Providence, and I definitely would have loved more seasons of those shows.
American Dreams! It was a huge favourite of mine & I thought it had incredible potential.
Commander In Chief deserved more time, too.
While I used to love Gilmore Girls, I wouldn't want that back on the air. They ruined it for me by having Rory dump Logan and by putting Lorelei back with Luke. I'm convinced that Luke & Lorelei weren't originally meant to be the endgame couple; if you watch the early part of the series, it's clearly about her and Christopher being star crossed lovers who need to get their timing right so they can finally be together. The structure was Soap Opera 101. Luke was just an obstacle to her seeing that Christopher was always The One. And when they changed that, it ruined the show for me.
While I loved Friends, I can't decide if it would've worked to continue it. Certainly, by the time the show ended they couldn't drag out the Ross/Rachel recoupling any longer. And if Chandler/Monica had moved away, the dynamic would be off. I think the whole premise of the show was such that once you make them paired off, parenting, & out of the apartment building, the story is over.
Mad About You, as well as Kate & Allie, though, might have worked. With Mad About you, the whole issue of adding a child to a marriage would have led to interesting stuff. With K&A, having the kids gone would've made for an interesting look at women at a certain stage of life. That said, I thought this show lost something when they had one of the character - I hate to admit I don't even remember which one now - remarry. So I'd have killed off the husbands, so the show could go back to focussing on the friendship.

Jericho Survivors (damn BBC for cutting if off after such a massive cliffhanger!)
Friends for sure - I would have loved to watch them grow old with me! Will and Grace
The Cosby's LOL. I'd probably laugh at it now, but I LOVED them growing up!

I have to pick two as well - Early Edition and Quantum Leap. I think it may have a lot to do with the main characters. I loved Quantum Leap...I think I'll ask for it for Christmas!

Stargate anything. Annoyed it's coming back as a rebooted movie and I'll never find out if Eli was able to wake up the crew later on SG Universe.
Firefly. Too short. I do a rewatch every year.

I can't narrow it down to just one. I have two that I still miss: Lost and the X-files (but before Mulder left).
I was lost after Lost went off the air. It had been such a big part of my life for so long...my kids and I looked forward to it every week, we discussed it and all the different theories and mysteries. It was just a great show for my kids and I to talk about over dinner. They loved it and mourned it as much as I.
I was a huge X-Files fan...I still love David Duchovny and will watch him in just about anything he is in. My DH cried when LOST ended- but I was so ready for it to be over! It was just crazy. And complete hijack, we stayed at a B&B this summer and met Dean Haglund from the X-Files (he played Richard Langly?)I had no idea who he was. Interesting person, though! And to answer the OP, TV just isn't my thing, so there isn't a show I care that much about. I was sad to see some go, but I can't ever seem to keep my schedule consistent enough for years on end to keep up with any one series.

My all time favorite show was The Office but I think I'm glad it ended because I think it was time, even if Steve Carell would have still been on the show.
I think Seinfeld could have gone on forever. And I wouldn't have minded at all.

Popular - I believe it was on the WB? It was cut way too short. Think Mean Girls in a TV series. It was just so darn clever and funny.
Also agree with: -Felicity (Go to name if I ever have a daughter. You bet I loved this show. Lol) -Freaks & Geeks - this one and My So Called Life. What's with canceling truly amazing shows? -Seinfeld- if only to redo the end. Ughhhhh.
Adding: -Models Inc (don't judge. It was amazing)
Will add others as I think of them.
Great thread OP.
