My grandmother passed away this weekend very unexpectedly. I've found a few possibilities online but thought I would ask the peas. I don't want something overly religious. I'm having a hard time figuring out who different books are aimed at - I'm 28, so I don't need something about many surrounding friends passing, etc. I would appreciate any suggestions!

I'm sorry about your grandma. I lost my mom suddenly 3 1/2 years ago and felt like my world was upside down. I bought the book I'm linking and read it twice. I felt like it helped me and I'd definitely recommend it to someone who experiences a sudden death of a loved one. grief book

This one
I think it resonates regardless of belief system and although it may be targeted as a children's book, I find that the message is very comforting.

I am sorry for the loss of your grandmother. Here is a podcast by grief therapist Claire Bidwell Smith that might be of interest. Sunday Mourning

I was recommended Permission to Mourn. I couldn’t get through it at the beginning. Pain was just too much. Unfortunately, now I see the book and I think of those first days so I haven’t read it yet. I’m sure one day I’ll be able to do it. Just not now. It has excellent reviews in Amazon
