Virginia here, dd and I are heading up to our voting place first thing this morning. We're voting for governor in a blue-ish/purple-ish state. The Republican candidate, Ed Gillespie, has been running ads that are outright lies, and total exaggeration and "misinterpretations". He is supported by trump. Unfortunately this state has a lot of the ignorant types who voted for trump.

Voting in local elections this year. DS is voting for the first time today. I found him studying the mock ballot online last night.

The greatest con ever played on Americans is convincing them their votes don't matter.
Self-fulfilling, dangerous, counter-productive lie.

I'm just back from voting and there were a lot of people there! There was actually a short line to get into the building which is not something we usually see in non-presidential elections. I think trump has "encouraged" a lot of people to get out and vote for the guy who he did NOT endorse.

Or...checking on our "race" maybe? No, I'm sorry. We need face checks. Race checks are insufficient.

No lines when I voted a little after 9:00 but there seemed to be a steady stream of voters. Among other issues, I wanted to make sure to vote for a library tax renewal.

I voted at 9 am here in VA. There was a short line - which is a good thing!

Only 2% of registered voters in my county have voted early so I'm really hoping people show up today. It's very disheartening to live in a state where so few vote. ( TX is consistently in the bottom for voter turnout )

I voted this afternoon braving the cold rain shower. I was #240. I peeked at the rolls and double checked that DH voted this morning.

I early voted last week. Nothing huge on our ballot, but I will never again pass up the opportunity to vote. Waiting with bated breath for 2018!

His ads that say Northam said Trump was a "lunatic" did not have the intended effect. They made me want to vote for Ralph Northam.

No elections here. I found out after going to the voting place. I tried checking different sources before going and saw nothing posted. I knew a nearby town had a mayoral race.

Not much on the ballot here. I am angry that I can't vote no for a very small, expensive theatre. It is smaller than our high theatre , and looking at the design will not hold the type of productions the community thinks that will be brought here.

My town canceled our elections two months ago. All three candidates (mayor and 2 council seats) were running unopposed. So they will just be appointed and we move along as if nothing happened.

Yes, Northam didn't say trump was a "lunatic", he said trump was a "narcissistic maniac". That's right. I couldn't remember exactly. I just knew it went right along with my thoughts on Trump.
