I think Iโm going to rename this season โthe draining of every person I likeโ. So another person I was rooting for bites the dust and once again Chrissy prevails. The only good thing was watching her get so many votes. I loved the way she turned around and gave the death stare to the group when her name kept showing up. As if how dare they! So, the episode starts with the merge. They tried to trick us because they had it all set up for a challenge. I was really worried they were going to still have the challenge and maybe one team was getting a feast. Watching how badly they were all suffering from lack to f food I felt terrible at that idea. I loved that they all got the Outback feast. It was funny to see how quickly Joe got on Chrissyโs nervesโthe guy is truly obnoxious. But that was also kind of obnoxious (and foolish) for Chrissy to be so openly discussing strategy with Ben at the table. He was NOT liking that. I was hoping it might concern him enough to turn away from her. Ben is definitely one of my favorites. I have to say, the scuttling around at the beach had me confused as to who was with whom. But, I did have a sinking feeling that Chrissy was coming out on top and that some of my favorites, basically Dr. Mike and Jessica were going to be in trouble. I donโt care so much about Cole and Desi and I really donโt care about Joe. (I had to actually go look up who all was in that alliance and voted for Chrissyโstill didnโt have it straight.) And you think I would root against Mikeโs alliance since our two remaking pool players are in Chrissyโs alliance (Ashley and Lauren), but Iโm pretty sure my pool players are at the bottom of that alliance. Hope they realize that and break away soon. Lauren and Ben both really like Mike so I hope he can wiggle his way back in with them. Maybe replace the weasel Ryan or the smug Chrissy. And I just have to say that although I really just donโt like her, I do appreciate the fact that sheโs a super fan and that sheโs playing the game hard. Also, she is in amazingly good shapeโyou gotta love a 46 year old mom whoโs giving the twenty somethings a run for their money. Still not a fan though. ๐ When I saw the immunity challenge, I knew that the girls would fare better than the guys. Good for Ashley and Desi for lasting so long. I think I would be terrible at that challenge. Even at my peak shape, I donโt think I would get the right rhythm to keep that ball moving. So next week it looks like Joe finds another idol and Chrissy is wrestling him for it and calling out for back-up. If it is what it looks like, then itโs another reason to dislike Chrissy. I get wanting to watch someone and maybe even look for the idol yourself-get it before they do. But not wrestle it from someone who found it. so, I wonder, did Joe find that clue in the nails that no one seemed to notice? Hereโs Daltonโs recap. Enjoy!

I enjoyed last night's episode but was surprised by how many players were complaining about the food situation. One even said something like, "If we don't get food today we are going to die". And yet this season they have gotten food for every single reward challenge, they've been given rice and they were all given fishing gear that included a boat, a mask and fins, and a fishing spear gun on day one. Compared to past seasons this group food wise has had it better than many other groups. Usually be the Merge I am really into the season and have my clear favorites and my clear people I don't want to win but this time I'm still feeling lukewarm about the whole season. I guess with a show like this we never know how a cast is going to turn out, but all in all I'd much rather have a cast of unknowns than a cast of return players. Jackie, as usual I agree with everything you wrote They really fooled me too with that challenge all set up before Jeff said, "Drop your buffs" and even then I thought somehow they were going to still have to run that challenge especially when he teased them up with the "but this time you won't be getting a feast" or whatever it was that he said. Did you all see their faces when he said that? I thought it was great when Chrissy began discussing strategy in front of everyone to Ben and Ben was trying to tell her to "Shut Up" in a very under the table manner so people wouldn't figure out they were together, and she just kept talking. I really hope this tells Ben that Chrissy is a bad person to be aligned with. Joe was being his usual obnoxious self and even more so at tribal council-he was so full of himself there. I hear what you are saying Jackie about Chrissy playing the game hard and I do admire her for being in such good shape, but it's the smugness and the superiority that she exhibits that turn me off so much towards her. I think you and I feel the same way about her. That challenge was difficult and it was amazing how long Desi Ashley held out. Tribal council-Joe-how foolish was it for him to pull out that immunity idol beforehand and wear it? Typical Joe though-Mr. Braggart. Look at me, I'm so Tough and all that! Then he played it and he didn't get any votes-ha! ha! Oh my gosh, I was biting my nails hoping and hoping Chrissy was going home! Okay, can someone explain to me the voting? Why was Jessica targeted? I think it's to split she and Cole up but if that's the case why not just vote for Cole-he's the one that's bugging everyone at camp.

I think they thought Joe might use the idol on Cole or that Cole might have one of his own, but that the other side wouldn't expect Jessica to be the one going home. There was a scene where the group was talking and mentioned Jessica as a backup plan. It must have switched to her being the target right after that, but we weren't shown to create drama. I'm sure the plan was to weaken the healers without risking the idol play.

jackie, I was thinking in the preview it was Cole and Mike fighting over the idol, but didn't look really closely and have deleted the show from my PVR. I agree birukitty about the food. Like if you are "starving" get some coconuts, find some shellfish, use your fishing gear for more than just schmoozing on the water. I get that there may be some plants not good for you out there, but I doubt they would have been placed in a spot where there are poisonous ones: pick some grass and boil up some soup. This crew would not have survived pioneering, for sure. I was happy enough for Jessica to go. Would have preferred losing Chrissy, but I'm okay with the way it went. I found Jessica annoying, and she seemed like the type of "fly under the radar" player that gets taken to the end b/c no one will vote for her.

I was surprised to see Jessica's name when the votes were read, but think Ben and Lauren influenced the choice. As annoying as Cole is, there is no way he is winning this game. He might be a physical threat but he is such a dolt socially and strategically. Devon & Ashley might have shared that Desi was willing to take out Joe so she wasn't a target and, of course, had immunity. Dr. Mike has made relationships with others and is known to be at the bottom of Joe's healers list. Jessica was clearly seen as the strategic choice to target once Joe showed his idol. I do think the alliances are very fluid right now and would love to see Devon, Ben & Ashley make it far. I was shocked at Chrissy talking to Ben at the merge feast - definitely a blunder on her part. birukitty only 2 tribes had fishing gear and I don't think Devon's tribe has won any food since the pastry/coffee win which was at least a week ago. I know they didn't get any of the pizza that would have come 3 days later and can't remember what was after that, so they were living off the food stockpile from day 1. This group was in tougher shape than Cole who fainted after eating two fish.

Where did that come from! Because on previous seasons they've had to get it from the big boat that they all came in on and have thrown it overboard and gotten it on their tribe boat, but this season it looked like no one got anything hardly at all because they were so fixated on being the first to win that race for fire (or whatever it was). Remember? I'm talking about the first episode at the very beginning. So anyway, one day they showed one tribe having the raft, the mask and fins, and the spear gun. And then it looks like later on they showed a second tribe having this too. I'm thinking this season they just gave all of the tribes this gear at the beginning at their camps. Otherwise if only 2 had the gear how did it get there? Did they win it somehow? Wouldn't they have shown that if that was the case?

Yep, that is just how I feel too; weโre definitely in agreement.
i rewatched the idol searching. It was definitely Chrissy fighting and trying to stop someone from digging up the idol. The other person was Cole though, and not Joe like I thought. When Chrissy started yelling, some others joined in (I definitely saw Ben running over) with the struggle. What Iโm *not* certain of is who was digging up the idol first.

I can't remember if anyone came off the supply boat with fishing gear.

But it didn't have anything like a swimming mask, fins or spear guns. This is now driving me a bit nuts because I want to know the answer to this question and I don't know where to look it up-would Google work for this sort of thing? It usually works for everything else. Off to try.

In my mind I'm thinking all 3 tribes had the mask, fins, a raft and the spear gun from the start at their camps. Otherwise there would have had to been some sort of 1. challenge to have won them or 2. they would have gotten them of the big boat at the beginning of the show and we all know that didn't happen. If they all had them since day one this is the first time this has occurred (at least in my terrible memory) and that gives them all a huge advantage regarding food gathering ability.
