I'm allergic to wheat. I can't eat it with out causing digestive issues and triggering my eczema. I love stuffing with my Thanksgiving dinner. I'm really going to miss it if I can't find a wheat-free recipe. Can anyone help a sister Pea out?

I just use a traditional stuffing recipe but substitute gluten free bread. It works really well.

Not tried and true, but how about something like this wild rice stuffing? If you get stuck, google rice stuffing for turkey. I see you say you’re allergic to wheat, not gluten, and people want to give you a bread stuffing. www.myrecipes.com/recipe/wild-rice-stuffing-0@dottyscrapper very kindly showed me my error. I appreciate it. She said, “Gluten free bread is not made with wheat, neither is gluten free flour.”

If you’re ok with gluten free bread, you can make any stuffing recipe. I made a pineapple stuffing recently and my gf friends had complained they couldn’t because the bread gets too soft. I made a separate one for them. I used GF bread, cut it into chunks and toasted it first. It held up beautifully.

Thanks! t People with Celiac disease or gluten intolerance can’t have wheat, barley, or rye (often oats, too, because of cross contamination). So if something is gluten free it’s also wheat free. It is possible for something to be wheat free but not gluten free though. Corn flakes, for example, contain malt but not wheat, making it fine for you but not for me (I have to eat GF).

You could make a corn bread stuffing. There are plenty of flour free corn bread recipes if you Google.

My husband has celiac. We get Gillians wheat and gluten free homestyle stuffing mix.
I add: browned up onions and celery ground up sweet sausage chopped apples cranberries seasoning chicken broth 1 stick of butter
I make it the night before and refrigerate it. I bake it separate from the turkey.
