altenew.com/pages/altenew-educator-certification-programI do not understand this. Do they have people/sources/knowledge to offer this kind of certification? Yes they are hot and happening right now but they come across like they want to make money on every possible thing out there without appropriate expertise. They basically would certify a person as an educator on different levels based on how many classes someone takes from their altenew academy aka their classes. I have taken 3 of their classes in the past and those classes had techniques/information available on internet for free.It was not a good value for my money I thought. But I was new to card making and gave it a try.Instead I learnt a lot more from jennifer mcguire's videos which are available for free on her youtube. Please someone correct me if I am not understanding this correct.

To me it just seems to be a way of getting people to take a lot of their classes, at a great expense. While maybe it can improve your skills, I don’t see what authority they have outside of their own company. It does seem at some point it mentions representing and demonstrating their products. A little fishy in my opinion. And I agree with you, there is so much to learn from YouTube for free...

That looks like a money grab to me. A crafting expert? Yeah, that sounds like a made up thing.

Are they planning to go the way of Stampin' Up and using this as a way to crowd source start up funds? 'Sponsorship' can be read as meaning they'll sponsor giveaways, but it could also be their 'creative' term for SU's 'demonstrators'.

The level three info says you have to have experience teaching workshops and have to have been on a design team. If you already have all that in your resume why do you need to take their classes? Sounds like another way to get your money especially since all those classes will cost you around $200.
