Okay, so what are your favorite games for two players? My daughter is trying to find some games for her fiance for Christmas. They will be moving when she heads to medical school, and most of the games they have are for 3+ players. They love games and need some for just the two of them. So, share what you love. Thanks!

I play mainly 2-player. Here's a list of some favourites. All of these are under 1 hour, most under 30 minutes, and are easy to learn. Most or all of these are available on Amazon, though Cool Stuff Inc may have better prices.
Splendor - 2-4 player game of collecting cards to make sets and buy gems. Simple game but an absolute favourite.
7 Wonders:Duel - competitive 2 player card game. You are competing to build your civilization by collecting cards. It's pretty awesome but competitive (race to grab a card your opponent needs).
Patchwork - lovely 2 player game where you are competing to build the best quilt with cardboard quilt pieces.
Pandemic: The Cure - co-operative dice game to cure diseases before everyone dies. Very fun. We mostly lose.
Pandemic or Forbidden Desert - classic co-operative games. Forbidden Island is just a bit easier. Pandemic is similar to above, but no dice. Forbidden Island is looking for the parts to your plane and flying out before a windstorm comes in and, I guess kills everyone?
Star Realms - back to competitive. 2 player deck-building card game set in space. Basically you are trying to shoot down the opponent's space ships.
Jaipur - very simple little game about collecting spices and cloth (tokens).
Codenames: Duet - 2 player game to guess the identify of your spies (turned over cards) based on clues. I've only played the party version.
Kingdomino: Haven't played it, but it's a tile-laying game to build a kingdom. Tile's are domino-sized. Alternately, Carcassonne is a popular game that's similar.
Fuse: Real time game where you are rolling and matching dice to a code to defuse a bomb. Plays 2-4 and you work together to defuse all the bomb cards with, I think it's 10 minutes or something. Fun game but STRESSFUL.
Exit: The Game: Think of an escape room in a box. There's a whole series of these. If you enjoy puzzles and don't mind that once you play this you have solved the puzzle and can't play it again, it's really enjoyable. Think of it more as an alternative to going out to the movie.
Santorini: Abstract but awesome 15 minute game. Moving across the board and building santorini buildings. First person to build their building and get to the top wins. It's a bit 'chess-y' with movement strategy, and very beautiful.
Azul: Haven't played it, but it's a pretty abstract game that looks excellent. Collecting beautiful ceramic designed tiles to create a pattern. Looks pretty thinky actually.
I can see that I went waaaay overboard on this list and you're probably just confused. I'm supposed to be writing a paper on creating strategic competitive advantage right now and I'm on the procrastination train.

We love Rummikub. And when we add wine, we like it even better! Also Uno and backgammon. Thank you for starting this thread Patter; I'm getting some good ideas.
