My boys are difficult to buy for, especially my 21 yo. He has a good job, buys what he needs, works a ton so not much time for hobbies.
My older once mentioned mystery tackle for fishing so i'm going to try that for him. I was thinking it'd be cool if I could find something for 21 yo ds, but he's much harder. We already have a family Netflix plan. He'll play video games in his off-time some, but otherwise he spends much of his time working or sleeping.
Anyone want to list some of the monthly subscriptions you've heard of that are good? Hoping maybe i'll hit upon an idea that would be something he'd enjoy.

Loot Crate -- have gotten this for 2 of my geeky, nerdy kids. I highly recommend it.

If customer service ever gets back with me, I'm giving my best friend a subscription to Shudder. It's a streaming service just for Horror movies. She loves horror movies. But, there isn't an obvious way to do a gift sub on the website and I sent an email last Saturday and I'm still waiting to hear back. So I'm a little concerned about how the service is run.

I don't have any recommends for males, but if anyone is reading this thread looking for last minute gift ideas, I subscribed to The Boodle Box for my 11 year old DD and it has been amazing good fun all year long. So much so that I'm re-subbing for her this year.
The boxes come with cute age-appropriate goodies, including face masks, fun lip glosses, necklaces and or really pretty hair goodies, scarves. Also a bracelet of the month which is always tied to some charitable foundation, like for the hurricane flood victims, or for autism. Every month the box is also themed for the season/holiday.
For the December box it was all glittery and gold things, not necessarily Christmas.
