Ughhh...I now have to go back to the grocery store tomorrow...when I was all done.
Made a double batch of Samoa truffles last night. Notice some were gone this morning when I left for work, I open the fridge tonight and the container is empty!!
I would send DH but he does have to work tomorrow or he would come home with all the wrong ingredients.
ETA: The recipe below is the one I use!! So easy and delicious, I do not add or use the sweetened condensed milk. That made them way tooooo sweet for us. I also replaced nila wafers with shortbread cookies. Enjoy!!

Been there, done that! I learned a while ago that if I want there to be enough of what I made to go to others, those need to be pulled out FIRST, containers taped shut and put away somewhere safe, LOL. Says the wife who often had to make a second batch of a particular favorite at the dead last minute—and who now just makes double batches of those from the get-go! I can’t be mad at him though, he’s so cute when he comes sniffing around on baking day telling me that ‘Quality Control’ has arrived!

Mine does this, too. Drives me nuts. I made treats last week and pulled out what I wanted to keep for the actual holiday and stuck those in tubs in the freezer. The rest were gone by sundown! But I've learned from experience that he will eat a whole batch of whatever I make.

Yep, sounds like you could be at my house. My trick is to hide cookies or treats in the veggie drawer. He never looks there. Yesterday I made his birthday cake(s). One is hidden in the dining room and the other was in a container out on the kitchen counter. He took a couple generous slices out of that one, but I still have an intact cake for the party tonight.

LOL, that’s awesome! A good old spot for us would be the veggie drawer in the garage fridge. Nothing would EVER be found in there. The trick would be to not forget something is in there myself!

You have always been a part of the heist. You're only mad now because you don't like your cut.

I came back to the plate they were cooling on and there were crumbs. It was like out of a cartooon; so funny I couldn't even get mad.

I'm thinking your husband wins a gold medal for being able to eat and entire double batch of truffles! LOL Man - he must love his treats! LOL My DH never wants any thing sweet... or so he says. I bake a lot, and he likes it. But again - he really doesn't eat many sweets... LOL Right! The only thing he really doesn't like is thick frosting. That he scrapes off.

Oh no! This happens here all the time. Last super bowl party we were going to I had made meatballs and dip to take. We had a bit of an argument when I wouldn’t let anyone have any because they were packed up to go. We laugh about it now, but I was so mad then.

I agree that we definitely need the recipe, DH and DD would live those.
I know this was supposed to be a somewhat lighthearted post/vent, but am I the only one who finds it incredibly rude for someone to eat an entire batch of anything with no regard to anyone else in the family, or if they were made for a gift or to take somewhere?
To me this is different than eating the entire bag or Oreos or box of ice cream sandwiches. Something like that can be easily replaced on the next trip to the store. These were homemade treats so time and effort went into making them for the holiday, and time is running out, there may not be time to make more.
This has happened in our house before; my DH once ate 95% of a can of homemade Chex mix that his mom had made for the family. I got 1 handful in passing and when I went to get more the tin was empty. Yes, I gave him an earful about how maybe others in the family might have liked some and how rude it was to finish it off with no regard for the rest of us.
I have made very few things this year so far, that is on the agenda for today, but usually when I make holiday treats I put most up and leave a small container for the family to enjoy right then and save the rest for the holiday, which is tomorrow, lol.

My mom used to wrap treats in white butcher paper and write "liver" on it.

That recipe says it makes 72 so a double batch is 144- I can't believe one person ate that many without being so sick. It would only happen once in my house.

I made a batch of these today for TH and DD. I followed the OP's suggestion and didn't add the sweetened condensed milk, but I did add about 2 teaspoons of cream because the mixture was way stiff.
Everyone really liked them, bit couldn't eat more than. One because they were sweet.
I think that next time to same somw time abd effort I might press them in a small oblong Pyrex and then just pour the melted chocolate over the top and cut into very small squares once set.
