I've never thought it worth my time to pick up and ask to be removed from the list. I just don't answer. Personally, I don't think those companies give two shits that I want to be removed from their list anyways and I wouldn't trust them to actually honor my request, even if they are supposed to by law.

Melissa We have some robo calls that lasts for months at a time. They call every third night or so. Sometimes I just pick up the phone and set it down. That way I take up their time. If I actually talk to a person, I always say I never buy or donate over the phone. One time I got suckered into a breast cancer spiel. I told them I would contact the BBB and see their track record before I donated. Click. I did check. Apparently 5% of the money goes towards the cause.

Yikes! I never pick up, no matter how often they call. And a ringing phone doesn't bother me at all, I can ignore it all day. It drives my husband nuts and he will eventually answer it. Then the calls start all over again until I ignore them again for a few weeks.

Do not answer...once you do they know they have a lu E number and keep calling and selling your number. If it’s legit they will leave a e mail.

I had to keep my home number because my cell service doesn't work most of the time in my little apartment. If there were to be an emergency, I can't count on my cell phone to work to call 911. But for the most part, the ringer is off and I don't answer it. I sometimes use it to call my mom but beyond that, I ignore it. If I am feeling particularly curious, I can see who called by checking the list that is provided on the tv...and if a number shows up a lot I google it to see what scammer is on point that week. ***But...I am not sure I would be offended by 'honey.' I live in south and everyone is honey, sugar, darlin' ... I have clients that honey and darlin' me on the phone every time I talk to them and it is just who they are and mean nothing at all by it. I’m from the south too and nothing annoys me more than being called honey, sugar, darlin’ especially by a waitress. Even if it’s just who they are I personally find it demeaning. Yes, call me grinch 😊 And as far as these calls, the best thing I ever did was change my ring tone to a silent ring tone. Learned about it here. Once a week I go to missed calls and block them all.

I don't pick up any number I don't recognize, I feel if it is important they will leave me a message. I will also google the number, most of the time there will be comments about it being a telemarketer.
I also have a "who's calling" app on my phone - if someone else has flagged a number it will let me know, and it has been pretty good in the few months I have been using it.
