This challenge is for those who scrap slowly and need encouragement to keep scrapping all month or those who want a little encouragement to continue scrapping. It is great for those new to Challenges and is a fun place to come chat with other Pokey scrappers. 1. Post a layout each week, or four layouts per month. These can be posted in the thread or in the gallery. If you post in the gallery, be sure to come to the thread and tell us you posted and tell us the name of the layout so we can find it. You can copy the URL from the gallery and paste it directly into your thread for a link. 2. This challenge can be combined with any other challenges and can be paper, digital or hybrid scrapping. These can be cards, layouts or altered items or any other creative projects. 3. Please comment on the work of others on the thread as your time allows. We all love comments on our layouts. 4. Have fun with this! This should be a "no pressure" challenge. Just post what you finish whether it is one layout or more than four. Come chat with the group as time permits. We love to welcome new members . There are no prizes for this challenge, just a chance to enjoy the works of other Pokey Peas Refugees. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.

This is a repost from December post.
Happy New Years Eve and Day!!!
I hope you all have a wonderful time celebrating and enjoying the new year. My dh and are under the weather so we will be resting and hoping tomorrow is a better day. This holiday season wasn't as festive for us due to health but I WANT A DO OVER!!! Maybe next weekend we can do some of the things we didn't get to do. Who says you have to celebrate on the actual day anyways. LOL!
Plus, I didn't get to go help decorate our city's Rose Parade float. For some years I have wanted to go and help and still haven't made it. Maybe next time. But it you see the parade keep an eye open for the City of Downey. That's us!
nylene- Happy Anniversary to you and your dh!!!! What a blessing! I am wishing you many more years of wedded bliss!
lisadv- Happy Birthday to ya!!!! I hope you had a terrific time. Sending you some Cali sunshine to warm up your days.
msliz- Hope you are feeling better now. Hang in there!
scrapincin- Your OHIO team really beat our USC team. We played terrible but your qb is really good. I hope you are enjoying all the bowl games.
grammadee- I hope you and @jusjac are staying warm.
elaynef- What wonderful pics you shared. Oh and when is your wedding anniversary? 50 years is so awesome. My dh and I will be at 12 this January.

Happy New Years! Thanks for the new thread, nylene. Thanks for the birthday wishes, kellyr21. I hope you and your dh are feeling better. Last week, the cold has stopped my van from working. It wouldn't start at all. Don even tried to jump it. I said if it warms up it might work. Don's thinks I need a new car. It is a 2003. But I think I could get some more time out of it. I really hate the idea of a car payment. Yesterday, dd complained of a sore throat. I told her to drink her water, it's probably because it's so dry. In the evening she asked me to look at her throat. Her left tonsil has white pockets on it, but she has no fever. But she was never one to run a fever anyway. If she ever got to 100, I was worried. So today we'll be taking her to her doctor or the walk-in clinic. I've created 3 scrapbook pages over the past few days. That was fun. My beagle is looking at me and whining. He has to go out so I'll be off. Have a great week.

Oh LisaDV, I hope your vehicle can be started. Hoping it is just an old battery succumbing to extreme cold. The temps here have risen considerably now that the holiday is over. (-10C or about 15F this morning). The sun is shining happily, reflecting off the snow and frost. Maybe I should get out there and get some photos... I hope everyone is feeling better by now. My sore throat morphed into a sinus cold over the holidays, but nothing debilitating. I am still snuffling a bit, but feeling okay other than tired from all my adventures. I have a list of things that need to be done this week now that the new year has started, but I don't feel like tackling any of them yet. Hey. The year is young! I DID manage to put together a couple of quick pages today. Hoping that now I have started, the creative juices will start to flow. Used my Scrapbooking Fanatics December kit for this page for NEXT year's calendar. December '19 by Gramma Dee, on Flickr And I dug into the paper pack from justjac's Christmas gift for this one, along with a very old sheet of mirror cs that matched the theme and the colours for this one: Winter 17 & 18 title page by Gramma Dee, on Flickr This will be it for today, but now that I have started scrapping, I don't want to interrupt the flow, so I think I will choose photos and supplies for my next scrappy project before I walk out of my scraproom.

Happy New Year Pokeys! DH and I joined friends for a pot luck supper and games. I made it midnight, but had serious doubts and nearly went home at 10:30. I was very tired but got a second wind. I'm still on holidays this week but DH is back to work. I signed up for Cathy Zilske's Fit 2018 class so I'm getting my healthy lifestyle mini album set up. I've also decided I want to learn brush lettering so I'm practicing that a little each day. I hope your van is running LisaDV and that you are feeling better kellyr21. Great pages grammadee!

Ladies, It's been some time since I even logged into this site. I'm gonna try to be more present. I'll admit I have been a "lurker" more than anything and have never really gotten the hang of using this site. So I migrated to a Facebook group from TwoPeas and that is where I have done the majority of my On-line chit chat. But one of my New's Years resolutions is to use this site more. I have missed seeing everyone's work and chatting. This is one of the first threads I looked for when I logged in. Nice to see some familiar faces still here.

The Pokeys have been really welcoming and I love the feeling of community here. I smiled when I saw the description under your avatar. Sounds like you are a really busy lady! What type of crafting do you do? Scrapbooking? Cards? Other crafts? Would love to hear about it, and to see your work if you like to share it.

grammadee- I am rather busy. But aren't we all nowadays. My name is Missy. I am a librarian and a part time cook at a local cafe. I have been married to my one and only for 22 years. My daughter(12 yrs old) is on a competition dance team and our season starts this month. My oldest son(20 yrs old) is in college and my middle son(18 yrs old) just graduated Army boot camp the day before Thanksgiving and is now completing his AIT training in Virginia. I also opened my home to two others who we helped raise and they have since graduated and gone on to other things. I am mostly a 12x12 scrapper but do enjoy making cards as well. I host an annual retreat in February each year. This year being my 4th year. A week of scrappin with my gal pals-is like heaven on earth LOL A small break from the hecticness(is that a word?) of life. I am adding a small summer retreat for my birthday weekend this May. I look forward to seeing everyone's work. I can't say I'll get much done since dance season is beginning. My daughter's schedule becomes mine and it's almost like a full time job in it's self.

LisaDV , I am sorry you are having car problems. We used to have to put a light inside the engine of our car in the winter, which gave just enough warmth to keep it from freezing. Otherwise there was no hope of starting it. I am sorry your DD has tonsillitis. I hope they can give her something to help her feel better soon. grammadee , I love your pages. I'm glad you are in a scrappy mood and are taking time to enjoy it. I am anxious to get going again. I didn't do anything but cards in Dec, so I'm anxious to scrap too. kellyr21 , I hope you and Ron are feeling better. I watched for your Downey float, but didn't watch the whole parade and must have missed it. Waving to all the Pokeys. Have a great day! ETA: I typed this up early this morning and didn't push SEND. I checked to see that it posted and realized we've had lots of posts since I posted! Welcome to stansgal ! Thanks for telling us a little about yourself and family. We are always happy to welcome new faces. Can't wait to see some of you work. Your retreat sounds wonderful and makes me jealous. What a fun getaway. And BTW, I'm sure hecticness is a word because we all feel it occasionally! Nice to have you aboard. justjac , I want to see what you are learning in your Brush lettering class. Before I got so old, I used to do nice printing and some calligraphy, but I'm too arthritic and shaky to have it turn out nice now. Be sure to post what you are doing. @elaynef and grammadee, how interesting that we were all married at about the same time. 50 years is a great record! I need to run. I'll be back later to chat.

Nice to meet you Missy. I've been hanging out with the Pokey Peas for a little over a year, I think. And they're the nicest ladies!
I have 3 teenage DDs who don't want me to post their photos online, so I don't put up many layouts here. I get most of my scrapping done during the winter, and I'm hoping to get the ball rolling this weekend. Glad you joined us!

stansgal , Missy, I remember you from 2Peas. Glad to have you reunited with the Pokeys....although we have a couple of members who are anything BUT Pokey! Just post what you would like. This is a group of the most considerate ladies you will ever "meet". They are also very computer savvy and can walk you through posting your layouts here in the gallery and linking them to this thread. msliz , I'd love to see the pages you have done, even if you cover the photos if necessary. I just finished my cards for Card Club this month. I'll take a photo and post it later.

Happy Thursday and Happy New Years! After a holiday filled with two sick chickens (LOL!) we are both back and feeling better. My dh got a lot of rest which he totally needed. He went back to work yesterday and it sounds like lots of his coworkers were sick and some still out. So I hope this weekend we can get to some of the fun stuff we missed during the holidays. My "holiday do-over" day right? I have so much to share here with cards and cards I made over the last few months. I will start soon.
I am trying to redecorate our bedroom. We need more space but until then I want to at least make it more pretty. I ordered a new quilt and shams in white. I want to add some colorful pillows and brighten it up. So I've got some shopping to do this weekend.
stansgal - WELCOME or should I say WELCOME BACK! We look forward to chatting with you in the coming months. I am Kelly, married and live in California. I love making stuff like cards, scrapping and art.
nylene - Sorry you missed our city's float. I did see in on the replay on YouTube. Here is a pic of it. It looked pretty and I hope I can go see it here in town before the take it way.

Good morning all! Well I don't know how cold it is where you are@lisadv but it was -4 here this morning and last time I looked it was 0. We are not supposed to go above 5 for the day. Our kids went to school Wed and that was it for this week. I worry about all the folks who got the blizzard but we did not. Thank goodness. There has been one death here from the cold and I pray there are no more. Its so cold I don't want to send Bob out to the store sso just put ingredients in the bread maker for fresh bread. I am hoping to get to my scrap room later today. I need to go to the ga;llery and comment on your creations over there. I will do that as soon as I sit for a few minutes to calm my be=rain down. BBL

Good Friday morning, Pokies! Hoping all are now feeling well and ready to take on the new year! Anxious to see your cards, kellyr21. Bet they are beautiful. And have a happy holiday do over! Looking forward to seeing your card club cards, too, nylene. I miss the monthly get togethers we used to have here when there was a local lady selling Close to My Heart and another doing Stampin' Up. How are you doing in all that crazy weather, LisaDV and scrapincin? Our temps have moderated here, but thinking of you. Hope you are warm and cozy, with working power. At least our electricity and furnace kept working through the worst part. My grandfather used to say "these are the kind of days you are glad the house is hollow!" And did I hear that it was below freezing in Texas? @elaynef how does that affect you where you are? Do you have annual plants that might be winter killed if temps get too low? After the hurricanes this fall and cold temps now, it will be a wonder if the citrus groves survive... Glad to know you will be playing with paper this weekend, msliz. Winter works best for me, too. But I tend to scrap in fits and starts. So far, I have ten pages done this week. Having been making use of the paper pack justjac gave me for Christmas, but have been mixing in pieces from my stash. I have created a giant mess, but all the stuff I need is "right on top" so I am not planning to clean any time soon. Looking forward to getting to know you better, stansgal. I am a mother of four (all grown), gramma of 11 (aged 2 to 18). I spend my scrappy time making cards and doing pages about my dgk's. If you are a Flickr member, it is easy to link your creations here for us to see them. You can also ask to join the 2Peas group so your work can be displayed in the Gallery here. I have dumped 10 pages into the Gallery this week. I've shared some here earlier, and some on my ACOT 30 for 30 thread. Here are a couple more of them: winter festival 2 by Gramma Dee, on Flickr Family @ Christmas 2 by Gramma Dee, on Flickr Have a fantastic Friday and a wonderful weekend!

I've been on a roll with my 2017 family album. This morning I solved a layout problem that had been bugging me since midday yesterday, and I found a solution for some photos that I'll hopefully be scrapping this week. nylene , I'll try to post a layout, but they just look awful with the faces blotted out. But I have one where DD is far enough from the camera that she shouldn't be so concerned about privacy. Anyone else scrapping this weekend? Still going strong, grammadee ? ETA: Here's a very simple 2 pager. I might go back and add clusters, but I probably won't. On to the next!

Glad to hear you are playing with paper, msliz. Looking forward to seeing your work. This morning I finished a double pager that I had started last night, and started another by splattering paint on a background. Will need to wait for that to dry before proceeding with this LO. Hopefully there will be some good light this afternoon so I can post (and add to my page count) all four pages this afternoon. Don't know if I am "going strong", but I am in a glorious scrappy mess and enjoying myself! I need to take a break from pages soon to put together a few birthday cards. I need 3 for January and another 3 for February. The only problem is all my birthday stuff is buried under the Winter/Christmas stuff... Don't worry if you don't hear from me. I might be lying on the floor of my craft room covered in scrappy stash, but when dh gets hungry he will come looking for me...

Well, I had a local scrappin friend come over last night and we scrapped....some. We did more chit chatting and junk food eating than actual crafting. I did manage to get 5 layouts done. Not a clue on how to share them. We are gonna pick back up this afternoon. That's the most I have scrapped in months. Other than my Christmas card making that is. Diggin through all that pretty paper makes me wish I was a stay-at-home mom again so I could just scrap the day away. Unfortunately, I'm stuck at work right now(shhh don't tell the boss I'm on the net LOL).

Sent you a message, stansgal about how to upload and share photos. Here are the two double pagers from today. Lots of photos so they went fairly quickly. I loved that dd and hubby worked with their little guy to create gifts for everyone. It was hard work focusing enough to not only roll and cut out the dough, but later to paint the cookies and write his name carefully on the back of each. winter wishes by Gramma Dee, on Flickr The photos on this second one were taken at msliz's suggestion. Until the kids arrived there was very little going on in this house, and she suggested that I take photos of some of my favorite ornaments. I decided to just snap the various decorated areas in our home. I really DO love my Christmas House... everywhere you look by Gramma Dee, on Flickr

Good Sunday morning! I am still pumping out pages. But it may be time to switch it up. These two pages from yesterday evening/this morning were easy. Everything flowed. It helped that I stuck with one collection of pp I think. ready for big guy by Gramma Dee, on Flickr ready for big guy 2 by Gramma Dee, on Flickr These two pages were more work than fun to put together. I started with a challenge over at ACOT to create a chevron pattern out of washi. I knew which photos I wanted to use, so I chose my washi tape with gears on it and then some coordinating ones. But when I went looking for papers to work with the tape and the photos, I couldn't really find one that worked with both, so I chose to go with the photos. Then the washi chevrons stood out too much. Seemed like decision after decision and more work than play... crazy gears by Gramma Dee, on Flickr crazy gears 2 by Gramma Dee, on Flickr My original plan was to add more gears to the first page--either metal ones from my stash or cs ones cut with my dies--but once I got this far, I decided that I would just leave it. Might add some gears later, but only if that process feels like fun. Might be time to move on to bd cards... Hope you are having a wonderful Sunday. ETA: Fixed it! Found some stickers with the CTMH paper pack and added some metal gears and bling. Now I am happy. Attachments:

good morning ladies! Just checking in and letting you know whats going on in my life. Schools are closed again today here due to ice and now snow coming down The bad part was it hit us right at rush hours. Actually everything was already coated with ice at 5:15. now its snowing and snowing. I have been getting into some deep cleaning the past few days. I work a little then rest and then do some more. I have to pace myself or I get too overwhelmed! I have been in the scraproom and found a sketch I like for my next layout now to pick out the papers I want to use. so eventually I might get a layout done! grammadee you have been scrapping like crazy! I can't imagine doing a page every day. Especially the one you did with the washi tape chevrons! I know when I was on a coupe design teams it sometimes was so difficult to come up with a page they wanted you to do something special with. @stangal I sure hope you post your pages in the gallery as I am anxious to see your work! nylene- sure hope you have just been busy and not sick or anything. I know your plate was pretty full. Thanks for the new thread by the way! kellyr21 was so nice to see you. The big game is on tonight-Alabama vs. Georgia @8:15 Eastern time LisaDV-how is your weather? More importantly how is your DD? She was sick last we heard from you. Ok have to get busy BBL

Ha ha, scrapincin, I won't be doing another page like that soon! My pages are pretty quick b/c they usually have lots of real estate taken up with photos, and I don't use many cut files, just supplies on hand. And of course I have collected a lot of supplies that go with my typical photos, so if I can't find something I specifically want, there is always something else that will work. One ddil calls my scraproom "Michaels" ITA that it would be great to see stansgal's creations. And kellyr21's cards. How is the weather where you are? It has been warmer than over Christmas here, and a bit of snow has fallen, but not anything like dd is shovelling in Ontario, Canada. Wondering how your chickens are doing, LisaDV? (And your dd of course!) How is your scrapping coming along, msliz? Gotta love when scrapbook dilemmas are solved. I often start a LO in the evening and then finish it in the morning. Somehow I wake up knowing exactly what to do! I too hope that nylene is just busy. So much flu circulating this time of year... I finished off another double pager today, moving away from my Christmas and Winter supplies and into my "little boy" hoard. wild & wonderful by Gramma Dee, on Flickr Wild & wonderful 2 by Gramma Dee, on Flickr justjac, I hope you have good roads and a great day back at work today.

Hi ladies and happy Monday! It is raining here and I am all nice and toasty inside. We had a fun "do-over" holiday over the weekend. scrapincin- Yes, we will be watching the game tonight. I don't have a fav in the match but it will be fun to see who wins. Our Rams lost on Sat so, I am hoping next year they will continue to do better. msliz- Your floral scrap pages are very pretty. Nice job! I just love flowers too. Waving hello to all you all and hope you are warm and safe today with all this freezing weather going around.

Hi everyone! I am not sick, just busy. I started back to school today and they have decided we need re-training. The training sessions we have to watch and practice take about 1/2 hour each and there are about 12 of them. I have watched until I can't watch another for a while. I just went through this last year at my other school, but I will finish them. I was surprised at how much my students today had regressed over the 3 weeks of holiday. My 6th grader who was reading 149 wpm was tested at 87 today. Of course none of them did any reading over the holidays. Whew....I hope it doesn't take long to get them back up to speed. scrapincin , I wish you'd come do deep cleaning for me. I have really done some work in my scraproom, but it needs deep cleaning. I have started a couple of layouts but probably won't get back to them until weekend. Can't wait to see what papers you choose and what you do with it. I can't believe how cold and icy your weather is. Stay inside and keep warm. Ice is my biggest fear because I am so klutzy. msliz, your pages of flowers are beautiful. You must have a pretty green thumb. It's fun to see what you are scrapping. We will take anything you are willing to share. kellyr21 , your cards are beautiful. As I was taking down cards (I hang them on a door at the top of my stairs) I studied your shaker card to see how it was done. Such a pretty design. I love all the cards I received this year!! grammadee , I love all your layouts. It may be a day or two before I leave notes on them, but I am just amazed that you can crank out so many beautiful pages day after day!! Waving to everyone. I'll try to get back here before weekend. Seems that the days just slip by too quickly. It is WARMER than normal here. We got rain on Sat. but what we need is mountain snow so we will have water to drink this summer. It has been in the mid 30's and up to 40. Weird weather for us this time of year.
