My daughters all have very curly hair. One has a precious bob cut but has trouble with it looking frizzy a day or two after washing. Our stylist recommends a leave in conditioner but she is out of several brands. I want to order something from amazon. Anyone have a spray leave in conditioner for curly hair that they love and keeps the frizz away? Thanks!

By far my favorite leave in is pureology color fanatic 21 benefits spray. It has coconut oil in it so its hydrating but not greasy. It has a uv protector in it if you have color. Its just the best i have found!

I do not have curly hair, but I love the It’s a 10 miracle leave-in.

Thanks! She has tried It’s a 10 and doesn’t like it at all. I will look into the other one listed. And, any other ideas?

If she’s willing to go with a cream rather than a spray, I love Eva NYC products for my curly/wavy hair. I get them from Amazon and love the “Rock a Wave Curl Cream”. There’s also one called “Mane Tamer”.

DD17 and I use coconut oil in our hair - add it while still damp. It's not a spray though

Leave-in conditioner sprays (eg It's a 10) do not work for my thick, curly/wavy/frizz-prone hair that I blowdry straight. Surprisingly, I currently prefer Suave Professionals Keraton-infused Heat Defense Leave-In Conditioner (cream) on wet hair before blowdrying & dry hair as needed. It's inexpensive (~$4) & readily available at Target, Walmart, drug stores, etc. Hope she finds a product that works well for her... www.suave.com/product/detail/671203/keratin-infusion-heat-defense-leave-in-conditioner

I love Aveda Be Curly curl enhancer. It is a cream and not a spray, though. Nothing else I've tried has even come close and it leaves your hair feeling very soft. I try to stock up when my Aveda salon has a sale and a tube lasts me a long time.

I have a curly bob as well and my favorite is Davines OI. It smells great, and a bottle lasts me a looong time. I buy it at my salon, but I know there are some online hair care retailers that carry it.

This is my favorite: TIGI Catwalk Curl Amplifier. Have tried tons of other "curl" products and this one has been my favorite. It is a cream. Apply it after washed hair, let air dry. Will scrunch the curls after hair dries but they never look frizzy with this product and leaves a nice looking curl.

Thanks everyone. I will see which one she wants to try and see how it goes. I am thinking sprays first. She really does not like to put something on her hands then into her hair. LOL!

Has she tried the It's a 10 Lite version? I like it better than the regular spray. I would also second a vote for TIGI Catwalk Curl Amplifier.

I used to use Aveda spray leave in conditioner and it worked really well when I permed my hair.

Also not a spray, but Garnier Fructis Sleek & Shine Intensely Smooth Leave-In Conditioning Cream works fairly well for my frizzy curls. And it is commonly found in grocery and drug stores for under $3-4. I run it through my curls while still in the shower. I get the best results if I have time to plop my hair for about 30 minutes and then let it air-dry the rest of the way.

Hi Patter, Have your girls ever heard of the CG method of curly hair care? Basically it involves not using any products with silicones or sulfates in your hair because silicones coat the hair shaft and prevent the good products from getting in and working properly and helping the hair get better. There was a book years ago (2001) that started it all called Curly Girl by Lorraine Massey. Now there is a website www.naturallycurly.com and a facebook group I belong to called Curly Girls!-Support Group for Curly/Wavy/Natural Hair It is a great facebook group and we have a lot of beginners in that group. To get information they would first need to find out what kind of curls they have. To do that they should go to the website and in the upper left corner is a section marked My Curls. Clink on that and click on Where to Begin. There will be colored rectangles to click on and two are important to begin. Take The Texture Quiz, and View All Hair Types. Once they figure out these answers I'll be able to suggest some products. For instance I have fine hair, but lots of it. I'm a wavy girl with 2C curls. Because of this I can't use a product with heavy creams in it or it'll weigh down my curls, but girls with 3B and 3C curls can. To get started with this method is simple. You just do a final wash with any shampoo that has sulfates but no silicones. The sulfates will get rid of any silicones you have on your hair. Then you do a deep treatment conditioner (the facebook group has lots of recommendations but I like Jessicurl Deep Treatment) that is designed to stay on for 30 minutes. To make it work even better add heat. To add heat I use a heat cap that I put in the microwave. It is cotton and filled with flaxseeds sewn into it. I got it here thermalhaircare.com Once these two steps have been taken you are ready to begin using all CG approved products (hair products that don't contain silicones or sulfates). Once you do this your hair will get in better and better condition. The key to avoid frizz is moisture. I do this with great conditioners. The two product lines I really like are Jessicurl and Raw Organics. Both are available online. I also use products that help fight frizz. Most of the year I use a curl enhancer called Curl Keeper. It's great for fighting frizz. I put it in my hair after I shower and when my hair is soaking wet. When it gets super cold (like it is now) I have to switch to another product (because it uses humidity to work). If you'd like more info or have questions please pmail me. I've been doing this method off and on for the past 10 years.

It sounds like you're talking about 2nd (or 3rd) day hair (without shampooing) to tame the frizz? Have her try DevaCurl Mist-er Right.

First day her hair is great. Each day thereafter, it’s just not the same. birukitty, I will share with my daughter. Thanks so much, and thanks everyone!

I really like Morroccan Oil brand "Curl Cream" in a tall white tube with turquoise label. It is a leave in curl cream with a really fresh nice scent. I just put on a small pump in my hand and distribute it throughout my hair. Not greasy -- I just leave it in and let me hair air dry. (I order mine through Amazon -- a tube will last me an entire year!)

Yes, this is often a problem with curly girls and is discussed quite a bit in our facebook group. There are many different techniques to try depending on curl type. One thing I wanted to mention is that the Deva company just got sold to a new buyer so their products may change. Also while they work great for some curly girls they do cause dryness and itchiness in others. I personally don't like their products-they don't work well in my hair because they have too much protein in them. But some girls love them. One of the techniques to try for 2nd day hair is to have a spray bottle filled with water and a tiny bit of conditioner mixed together. Spray that on hair and then scrunch the curls back in. But it really depends on hair type. There should be a lot of suggestions on the naturallycurly.com website and they have a forum there too.

Anyone have a spray leave in conditioner for curly hair that they love and keeps the frizz away? Thanks! Way back in the day when I had curly hair (perm LOL) I used Infusium 23. I just ordered some off of Amazon and it is still as good as I remember! (even though my hair is straight now!) LOL

We use the spray bottle of water & It's a 10 to detangle (and it helps with frizz) every day. I could do the same with my hair, but I find it faster just to get my hair wet in the shower. I still just shampoo every 3rd or 4th day. All three of us have fine hair & would have a crazy mess on our heads if we didn't wet & comb it daily. I've tried Deva Curl, but it doesn't work at all for me. I've used Pureology on my oldest DD, but can't use it on myself because I'm allergic to coconut. I do notice it doesn't "hold" as well for DD. Half way through the day she is looking frizzy. Basically, it's a lot of trial & error.
