What are you having for the 4th? We are having a Thanksgiving meal. Why? Because my gf/her dh were out of town for Thanksgiving and they really like deep fried turkey. We've tried and tried to get together and this has been the only day where we can all get together. My dd is going to make ice box mashed potatoes. Besides that we are having green beans, stuffing, apple pie, and dipped strawberries. So whatcha having?

We're doing the traditional hot dogs, hamburgers, potato salad and apple pie.
I like the idea of doing a fried turkey!

We are going to fry shrimp. Not sure what else. Going to DH's Uncle's house and he takes care of everything when he hosts.

Thinking of grilling some beef and Chicken kabobs or smoking a turkey breast. We haven't made firm plans yet as we're both working that day.

Hmmm, I should figure that out! I was thinking hot dogs and something easy, we haven't decided when to head out to the fireworks because we're concerned about our old dog...in the past we'd take her with us but her arthritis is too bad now for her to be going in the car and climbing in and out of the dinghy.

We always go to a family member's home and she has a big BBQ potluck. This year I am bringing two salads - red potato salad made with greek yogurt and a greek style pasta salad. She always has hot dogs and burgers on the grill along with tons of other dishes brought by other friends and family. My personal favorite is the ramen salad!

My dd is going to make ice box mashed potatoes. What are ice box mashed potatoes? We're getting chicken and sides from Ezells - Oprah's former favorite fried chicken. Keeping it simple this year!

It will probably be just DH and I so I think maybe throw some burgers on the grill, boil some corn and call it good.

Icebox mashed potatoes can be made a week ahead of time, although ours haven't been made yet. We mix them up with sour cream and cream cheese and some spices, refrigerate them, then bake them on the day we are eating them. I've used the recipe forever as I like getting as much of the mess out of the way prior to the dinner. I don't care for spending my time in the kitchen while my guests are here.

I am not sure. We got invited to Dh's aunt's house, but I really would rather stay at home (just myself and my two boys). I'm liking maybe fun finger foods.

Apple wood smoked baby back ribs, broccoli salad, and banana pudding. Maybe a second salad side dish, but I don't know what yet.

Nothing out of the norm here...burgers, hot dogs and pasta salad, potato salad and baked beans with assuage and bacon in it. Maybe BBQ chicken.

I'm still recovering from a back fracture so I'm not sure I'm going to do anything. If I decide I can handle it we will have boneless pork ribs in the pressure cooker, greenbean bundles, mac & cheese, a shrimp summer salad I saw on QVC yesterday and some type of dessert, and lemonade.

We usually do traditional bbq with burgers and dogs - maybe chicken or ribs. A couple of salads and fruit. I wanted to come up with something different but time is running out. Maybe I'll do a fun dessert or something.

I'm adding from the recipe board here, the "Slutty Brownies". They sound yummy and calorie intense.

I'm doing either a steak or hamburgers and hot dogs. And then potato salad, marinaded mushrooms, maybe a strawberry spinach salad, and some sort of dessert. I haven't figured out the whole meal yet. Heading out to the grocery store today. Going to keep watching this board for some ideas.

I'm not sure yet, I'm not officially in charge. I'm guessing it will be grilled something. I'll probably do grilled veggies and some kind of potato salad or pasta salad to contribute.
One thing I know for sure, I'll be having a s'more or 2 at the bonfire. Possibly might also make this cute popcorn cake that I saw on Pinterest, depends if the oven's involved though, it will definitely be too hot for me here in New England to turn on the oven. (I plan to cook the potatoes in the toaster oven).

No idea. Should probably get on that. Ha ha ha. I was going to grill something but now with the forecast of rain I need to switch gears. I'll ask DH tonight what he feels like having though he won't have an opinion.

Haven't got a clue. No invitations yet so I'll probably have my brother grill either steaks or ribs. I'll think about sides Thursday when I go to the grocery store.

Just found out my college age DS will be home, so maybe I will do a grilled marinated flank steak with potatoes done on the grill and fruit salad.

Traditional fare.....grilled hamburgers, hot dogs, baked beans, potato salad, watermelon. We're more concerned about what we're going to drink rather than eat....beer? or wine?
