The beadboard we've purchased for our kitchen is a great composite. Easy to clean, no painting needed, claims to not yellow or fade. Yay! But here's my quandary, one side has one 6 inch width "board" and one side has two 3 inch width "boards". Seems like I shouldn't use the same for both walls and ceiling. There doesn't seem to be a consensus anywhere on the net about which gets what. We are putting it up on the ceiling because the ceiling is a mess and must be covered. It's just as easy and no more costly than anything else. And it fits the aesthetic of the kitchen; 1920-30's farm house. My kitchen is small, 8' x 9' Thoughts? Ideas? Anyone who has it on both the ceiling and walls?

I think I would put the wider planks (the 6") on the ceiling.

In a small room I would go wide on both.
And take a look at horizontal placement on the walls. Lots of internet pics for beadboard in small spaces.

Thanks for your input. I was leaning toward narrow on ceiling and wide on walls too because it is a small room.

I've never seen it on both before. I've only seen the narrow in use. I've seen it on interior walls. I've seen it on the ceiling of an exterior porch on an old home. I like beadboard. I hope you'll share pictures when you get it done. Good luck with your renovation.
