I love to watch scrapbooking on TV. I like to see the new things they have coming out in the scrapbook industry. It looks like Anna Griffin will have the Today's Special. Here is an excerpt from her Jan. 8th blog post: "We have the Today’s Special on January 10th. It is the incredible Anna Griffin Treasury of Stamps and Dies, a compendium of clear stamps and concentric dies to create dimensional embellishments for all occasions." blog.annagriffin.com/2018/01/08/hsn-january-10th-2018-shopping-list/

Me too. It's time for somone else to have the opportunity. HELLO HSN surely you must troll scrap booking forums. We are done and over with Anna Griffin. It's time to move on to others. We want to see other companies products. We are getting very bored.

We want to see other companies products. We are getting very bored. I think the majority of the crafting audience that shops on home shopping channels are older women and the victorian, or whatever you call it, designs are fit for those generations. I think a lot of the market for HSN and QVC are also of the older demographics. So it adds up to sales for them. ETA: When I first heard of Anna Griffin and saw her products, I honestly thought she was about 80 years old. Same thing, though, when I heard of Maggie Holmes...but that was just because she has an older generation name. I was stunned to learn that both of them were quite a bit younger than that when I was able to put faces to the names.

I'm tired of Anna Griffin dominating the HSN shows too. And it's her "8th Anna-Versary" (gag me with a spoon) with HSN, so there will be no avoiding her tomorrow. 30-minute presentations of the Today's Special over and over again.

I have no interest in Anna Griffin either. I miss the old days of QVC and Lisa Bearnson. Ah, the good old days.

I can't wait - I'm so sad I have to work! - I'm not a hundred and fifty years old, either. In all seriousness, I can understand why one might feel overdosed on AG. She and her products are my escapist fantasy, though. And I'm shamefully fond of matchy-matchy. I'm all aglow about her palette of ink pads + embossing powders. I honestly prefer her sticking to the Victorian florals. Some of the more "modern" styles she's done don't really resonate with me, and IMHO they dilute her brand.

It isn't that it doesn't appeal to me that bothers me, it's that she monopolizes the crafting air time and thereby affords less opportunity for variety. If there were other companies featured more (even crafters companion is becoming too heavily featured) so there was a balance across the spectrum, I wouldn't complain because crafting takes all types. HSN seems to think it takes one type.

I've been watching the shows that I recorded overnight, and so far there have been at least 3 re-run hours of presentations from their last craft day before Christmas.

The square punch did look interesting. But I find I buy that line and it sits in a drawer. Loved the British lady's card kit with the 3 D formal dress card. But I am not ordering anything this time.

I wanted to see the Square punch because it has been on my wishlist - but now it is sold out...
I guess I will just have to wait until it makes it to Hobby Lobby.
And I tried to watch last night but I couldn't take that much Anna. I kept waiting for something else...

I went bed when Anna was on and hoped that tsv was sold out. I'm so disgusted with hsn. Again..... really another Anna product. I when I got up and tuned in guess who was on yes you guessed Anna. ( I really don't hate the lady it's just she monopolized the whole day. I'm so over it.

The one and only time I bought something from AG, from QVC, I think, the quality was horrible. The paper was super thin. I ended up donating the entire kit.

I didnt get it, either. If you see it at hobby lobby, let me know. Someone must be buying Anna stuff or they wouldn't keep her...right?

That's what you would think, however when I worked at a big box craft store, a few times we had endcaps of Anna Griffin stuff and it never really sold, even when it went clearance. Maybe it's different on HSN though.

I have to say Crafter’s Companion customer service is outstanding. I posted an Gemini update earlier today explaining things. When all said and good there sending me out a cutting plate, card stock and color pencils free of charge. They understand the Anna Monopoly. The lady I spoke with laughed when I said that.

Every HSN craft day is the same now. Whoever has the TSV is on constantly, every hour it is plugged. And, it lasts for 20 minutes or more every hour. It was the same way when WRMK had the over the door craft holder, and when Crafter's Companion had the Gemini Jr. I wish they would have other craft companies on there, showing different things. Before, I would learn things when the crafters were demonstrating their product, like when Anna Griffin showed the Explore, when it was first on. There would be more time for them to show what they were doing. It was more of a demonstration of the product, and some examples of what can be done with it. Now, it is more just here is the product, sell, sell, sell. Maybe they are just pushing so many more products that they don't give the person time to show the products well? Now, to me the most annoying thing is the constant talking by the hosts, especially Suzanne Runyan. It is hard to even hear the person trying to show their product when Suzanne keeps jumping in with "I have this product. I have this on my blog....." Other hosts are bad too. I was trying to hear what the Gemini Jr. sounded like, and I really had to turn up the t.v. Over all the talking to hear the machine. I liked when they had Sizzix and Jen Long on one time. I liked seeing different products all of the time. Now, unless it is a new die cutting machine that has just come out, it is the same products all the time. I did not buy anything this time, or last time they had the craft day.

Oh, I so agree about the hosts. I recorded all the shows, and I had to stop watching a few times because the host and the presenter were both talking at the same time. I was getting a headache. And I also agree that the presenters rush through the demos so fast that you don't get a very good idea of what some of the products are all about. And yes, yes, yes about Suzanne Runyan. I had hoped that, since QVC bought HSN, the shows would be a little more like the old QVC craft shows, but no such luck.

And the hosts that keep saying this product is going to sell out RIGHT NOW! Some of them do sell out, but they start saying that at the beginning of their pitch - it drives me crazy.

I watched the shows on fast forward on my DVR so I would not have to hear the hosts. I stop when I see something I was interested in, but there was not much.

Did not buy anything. But I loved the WRMK Blossum. It will live in my house someday. Actually, the Anna Griffin products tend to be very nice quality compared to the QVC days. But her stuff is repetitious and she is on way too much. A little of her stuff goes a long ways as it doesnt work for me for layouts. I actually took a workshop at CKU years ago that she taught. Her company was way more generous in what you got in the class and also her make and takes than any other company there. She was very gracious and a good teacher. Way better than Lisa B. or her underling Becky H. I still remember how lame Becky's class was...borderline embarrassing. As far as Suzanne Runyeon...be thankful for her. She is the real reason there are any crafts being sold on the shopping channels. When QVC decided they didn't need our business and only wanted to sell us Dysons and folding ladders, Suzanne got the crafts going on HSN. And she really does crafting in her non tv life. Most of the HSN hosts do a terrible job of explaining items and that has not changed over the years. Without HSN, I wouldnt even know about Crafters Companion. Some of her stuff is really nice. I love my Diamond Press and HSN is the only source for that.

I agree with Leone. I used to buy a few things from QVC "back in the day". I actually kind of like Suzanne Runyan because she really is a paper crafter. I hate when the host of a craft show is totally clueless and add nothing to the presentation expect dumb remarks. But, boy does Suzanne talk over the demonstrators! Even worse, what really bugs me is when the camera operator pans to her and away from the demonstration. Ugh. I don't need to see her face - let me see the product! I was unaware she was responsible for bringing crafts to HSN, so I'll give her props for that. I also agree about many of the remarks about Anna Griffin products. I have a purchased some of her card stock and find it to be a very nice quality. I'll admit that I find most of her designs too fussy for me, but I do like her vintage designs. I have some of her embossing folders and dies that are of good quality, too. But her products definitely are pretty narrow and not for all people! I agree that HSN really needs to branch out the craft product lines. I'd really like to see a bigger variety of brands. I do really like the Crafter's Companion products and I also would never have heard of that line or the Diamond Press but for HSN. The Diamond Press is one of my favorite tools. I think I use it every time I craft. The only things "I" bought were the We R Memory Keepers Perfect Layers Bundle. I know I had a set of these from years ago, but I can't find them. I also bought the Crafter's Companion Magazine. It comes with extras, so it's a pretty good deal. Notice I said "I" bought those items. My DH spotted a few things during the shows and had me order them. I do not consider them "my purchases". This helps make me feel like I did not over spend. LOL

The Crafters Companion magazine really does look interesting. I use to like all the SBing magazines....oh, the good ole days! I was surprised they did throw in one Heidi Swap collection. I always enjoy Heidi but I am not into planners nor the stuff she has out now, BTW...Heidi was my first SBing teacher...before she got famous...and she actually was awful as a teacher but oh, so creative. I still use many of her techiques from that first class.

I used to record the HSN craft shows but I don’t even bother any more. Since I’m not interested in the Cricut/Cuttlebug machines or the Anna Griffin lines there’s really no reason. Those take up the bulk of the day. Then it’s usually Zyron, Spectrum Noir, and that lady who sells the how-to craft CD. A little variety would go a long way in getting more people interested in buying.
