My Brother Scan-n-cut2 just arrived. I took a chance and bought a like new in box from amazon for $196. I had over $100 in Chase Amazon points for Christmas purchases so I’m only really out about $85. Took it out and still looks sealed up by manufacturer.
Before I break into this and break the seals, I just want verification that this does a great job cutting out my stamped images. Ive never been able to cut and trim stuff worth a crap. And...I get irritated when I’ve nicely colored my little stanped images and then they look 💩 after I trim them out.
My plan is to sell some birthday and get well cards at my usual Farmers Market booth. I have lots of great customers that buys out all my vegetables each week and my baked breads. I wanted to offer something else to buy as I have all the extra space I need (since I help run it 😁 )
Anyway, That’s my whole purpose for getting it. So, will this meet my needs and be an excellent cutter? Hope to hear from some of you that have it.

I have a Scan-N-Cut2 that I bought specifically for cutting out stamped images. It worked like a dream from the very first time I used it. Extremely simple to use. I highly recommend it. Watch a you tube video or two about cutting stamped images before you fire it up. Also, you may need to play with the pressure a little bit. Take the you-tubers' advice on this as well. Have fun with your new machine!

I got mine today, too! It's fabulous!!! I had it unpacked, set up and cutting images in under a half hour. They are perfect. I watched a YouTube video by Hedgehog Hollow and used all the settings she used. I think she only changed about 2 of the factory settings. Here's the video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pl-jQka-x-E

Hawkgirl_70 and freeatlast - I'm jealous. I have Big Cricut and Lil' Silhouette and one of them has to die before I can justify another machine.

Thanks for sharing that video. I really want one but have only just started to use all the stamps I have bought over the years.
I have a stamping platform and am starting to practice stamping and then will need to work on colouring, which I have never done before. I'm hoping there are some basic how to videos out there to get me started.
But I am not confident in my cutting so I think one of these magic machines will be in my future!
I have a Cameo but haven't really heard as many positive reviews of the Pixi-Scan ?

I saw a lot of negative comments on Amazon about the mats not holding up well after just little use

The mats for the Scan N Cut loose their stickiness right away. Jen Blausey has a really helpful Facebook group for the Scan N Cut. She has lots of videos on You Tube too. This video shows how to resticky your mat. This is what I do and it works great. m.youtube.com/watch?v=ESob-P4XDiU

Have fun with your new toys, Hawkgirl_70 and freeatlast . And thanks to all the peas who participated in an earlier thread that explained the difference between this one and the silhouette. I think you stampers will love the scan n cut

I think I've been living under a rock! I just watched the video from Hedgehog Hollow and of course now I want one! I've got a Cameo and have used it to cut out matching dies, but not with the PixScan mat. I stamp the image, scan it and make the matching cut file but it takes a LOT longer to do than having the Brother Scan-n-Cut would! I did recently buy the PixScan mat but I haven't attempted to use it yet. Unfortunately, however, not only do I have a real problem with finding space in my craft room for yet another machine, I have a hard time justifying buying something like this when I have a machine that essentially does the same thing, but just not as fast. Still, it doesn't mean that I don't want one!

well, I have the Cricut, a Cameo and now the ScanNcut. I wish I had bought the SNC instead of the cameo. I just got it 2 weeks ago, I think, and I have used it to cut out several stamped images and it worked great! Now,mine were not colored in, but I have seen videos where they cut out colored images and they were fine.
I did the RG Studio 360 digital download with the unicorns and it cut those and the other shapes perfectly, but I could not get it to recognize some of the sentiments. It was the first thing I tried, though, so I hope it was just operator error.
Today I just downloaded a "box card" because the die that I saw from FSJ was $85.95. I paid just $2.99, I think it was, for basically the same thing and it cut it out all at once, so much less gluing.
I am VERY happy with the machine. The mat does lose stickiness, but so far I have used painter's tape successfully with it.
Have FUN with your new toy!!

How do you use painters tape with it? I use painter's tape to hold down the edge of the paper I am cutting so it won't slip around on the less sticky areas of the mat.
