DH carries his lunch in a small cooler. (He leaves his lunch in the car, so the cooler helps it not freeze in the winter and not get rotten in the summer.)
I have a soft-sided insulated lunch bag that has DH's company name on it and he received as a gift at work. I bring my lunch inside, but it stays in my office and not in the fridge.

My husband puts his lunch in a plastic grocery bag. It drives me insane (bad for the environment) but he doesn't want a reusable bag (I think he's picturing a feminine 31 thermal bag with a monogram like our daughter takes her lunch in... I may look for a more manly type of reusable bag and buy it for him). I work from home currently, so no need to pack a lunch, but when I was working, I would bring lunch in a reusable bag as well. My DH has a couple different reusable ones that he takes when he goes fishing or something. One is Realtree camo and another smaller one is plain charcoal gray. Try looking in the camping or outdoors section instead of in the lunchbox section.

Until the day my husband pulled a meatloaf and mashed potato/ gravy dish from his Elsa bag. With an slice of apple pie. One guy started to tease him and stopped. He asked my husband, " does your wife really cook?" "Do you eat like that? ". He hasn't been teased about his bags since then. That's neat! I fix 3 meals a day here. DH comes in and eats. Main meal is dinner at noon - meat/potato/veg/maybe pie, cake or cookie, but now that the kids are gone I don't do that all the time. Breakfast is usually just an egg and toast or oatmeal. Supper depends on my mood and the status of leftovers. The only time I pack a cooler bag is during harvest when we are both running hard. Sandwich, some kind of homemade salad (pasta, potato), little bag of chips, mini candy bar and a big jug of tea. During planting, I take out a hot lunch, because I usually have more free time mid day.

How weird that they would be shocked that you cook. Is that common around there? People that don't cook ?
We put leftovers in small containers and drop them in the freezer then grab whatever you want for lunch that day. They'll usually go in a grocery sack. My husband used to take a small cooler every day but he started putting other stuff in it instead like paperwork and his pistol. Never food. I called it his man purse. I guess I did it enough that he stopped carrying it. lol

freebirdI think it is fairly uncommon here. A lot of the men working with husband eat frozen meals , even the married ones. A friend use to rent rooms for outages and invite the renters to dinner. On sport practice nights, She would make chicken nuggets , tater tots and canned green beans. Her renters would absolutely rave over this home cooked meal.

I have an insulated bag that I used to use regularly in my previous job. Currently, I'm usually home for lunch, so I don't need it. I'll be taking my lunch to my DH's office to eat with him today, and since the drive is short, I'll just grab the refrigerator dish and go. No bag needed. Dh just carries the refrigerator dishes with no bag. He's got a fridge at work that people don't steal lunches from. No need for an insulated bag. A reusable bag would just be one more thing he'd forget at work. Although your story has me wanting to buy him a Star Wars lunch box just to see what his coworkers say about it.

He uses an insulated lunch bag. I carry a backpack so I usually just put my Tupperware in my backpack and put my lunch in the fridge when I get to work.

My dh has lunch provided by his company for $10.00 a week. It's all very healthy food and the company does it to keep the employees healthy. I take my lunch daily in a soft foam fabric lunch bag. Cindy Wow that’s awesome! I teach so I could get lunch at about $15 a week but it’s far from healthy!

I usually just carry the actual container, and don't worry about a bag. But our work has a kitchen with a full size fridge, so I don't have to keep my lunch at my desk.
My BF used to carry his lunch in a cooler, but he does manual labor, not office work.

i don't brown bag but DH does. he changes his bag every so often. right now he has a square zip kind. he doesn't use any ice packs or containers in it. it 's more for the bag itself. i would say it's the size of the old school lunch pails.

As a teacher, I got lots of 31 lunch bags that were monogrammed. Now I work from home, but my husband takes one to work at the college twice a week.

My husband eats out every.single.day.
Slightly off topic, but I pack my son's lunch in two plastic grocery bags. It fits best in his backpack and doesn't take up a big amount of space in the shared fridge at school. I send a lot of food to school each day.

How weird that they would be shocked that you cook. Is that common around there? People that don't cook ? Or the wife does cook, but he will not eat leftovers. Possibly, he's like a toddler; has few meals he does like. Not that I would know.
