What does your SO carry their lunch in? What do you carry your lunch in?
Does it matter?
I do have a story that I will post later.

DH got in the habit of taking a small cooler to work with his lunch in it. He started it when DS was working with him this summer - they packed a big lunch & snacks for the both of them. DH still takes his lunch in it now. His circus, his monkeys. He's an adult, I don't pack his lunch for him. I work at home, so I don't carry lunch anywhere. Thank god - I hated making my lunch, and I hated making my kids' lunches too!

My dh carries his lunch is a soft sided thermal lunch bag. It's fairly big. Bigger then something I would take. I use a lunch bag from thirtyone bags. I usually eat in the cafeteria though.

DH packs his lunch in a small, soft sided cooler. It mostly holds water bottles, though, as DH is a thirsty critter, lol.

I pack lunches in long fairly shallow tupperware containers. DH's fits in his messenger bag. I take three days worth of salads to work with me (I work tues-thursday) in a reusable grocery bag and keep in the work fridge. I don't eat lunch at my other job so I don't have to pack it

My SO doesn't want to bring anything reusable in his lunch - no plastic containers filled with leftovers, no metal silverware, and no reusable lunch bags or lunch boxes. He wants to finish his lunch and chuck everything in the trash. We've butted heads over it several times, bit I've stopped bugging him about it - he can figure out how to make it work; I'll just worry about my own lunches.

DH brings lunch in almost every day. He has a larger sized soft sided lunch bag that looks like a tactical kit. It fits a square snap lock glass container flat, which was his goal.

My dh just crammed his sandwich, chips and fruit into his briefcase. He always figured he would just lose a lunchbox.

Dh uses a thermos lunch bag that I bought at BBB. It fits a lot and fits into his mini fridge. Tonight I put in 2 arrowhead waters, sandwich, apple, pudding cup, peanut butter crackers, and a baby bell cheese. Oh and bag of chips. I make sure he has a mid morning snack, lunch, and snack for later in the day (teacher and leaves at about 4:30). Helps keep him away from drive thrus on the way home.

I've got a soft sided thermal lunch bag I used most of the time. But every now and again I use a plastic shopping bag, especially if I need to be able to just trash everything and not bother with bringing items home.

So time for my story;
I buy my husband those reusable bags you find at the dollar store or the dollar spot at target. His favorite is his Elsa bag. He has minion bags, star war bags and some others. The men at work ( most in their 60s and divorced ) make fun of his lunch bags. Until the day my husband pulled a meatloaf and mashed potato/ gravy dish from his Elsa bag. With an slice of apple pie. One guy started to tease him and stopped. He asked my husband, " does your wife really cook?" "Do you eat like that? ".
He hasn't been teased about his bags since then.

That’s awesome! DH doesn’t bring a lunch most days because his employee refuses to stop and eat. I work from home so there’s no need to pack a lunch. DD eats hot lunch at school just about every day because DH doesn’t ever want to have to hassle with it. On the random days when I go to school to have lunch with DD, I have a cute paisley thermal lunch bag my BFF’s mom gave me and DD has a couple different cartoon character soft sided lunch bags she can use. Every once in a while her class will go on a field trip where the teacher specifies they have to have completely disposable lunch containers. That always leaves us scrambling because we never have a supply of brown paper lunch bags around here so she ends up bringing her lunch in a small colored gift bag, LOL.

I have a pretty big thermal floral lunch tote with handles. I looked a while for it because I needed it to be big. I use glass containers and they take a lot of space. Then I’ll bring a bottle of salad dressing and other things like that as well - like I individually pack many components of my salad until I’m ready to mix them before eating and that takes up more space. I don’t leave anything in the community fridges - they are pretty full and I just like to bring what I need that day and bring it back home.
Dh is self employed and eats at home usually about 60% of the time and the rest he just grabs something on the road. He cannot be bothered to make a lunch. Drives me crazy as I do every single day.

I don't bring lunch on a daily basis. I usually eat before I go in. I have a small drawer that I keep stuff in, just in case I get hungry. cereal bars, instant mashed potato cups, instant rice-a roni cups, etc... I have a small box of assorted plastic utensils too. We have a water cooler, so I drink water from there.

My husband takes the sandwich sized Tupperware with leftovers from dinner. He puts it in a small backpack with his laptop. He’s a big sci-fi and superhero fan. I should get him an Iron Man bag.

The only reason he gets a packed lunch is the place he works out of has mice. The workers are encouraged to take food scrapes home. Since putting them into the dumpster would attract more mice.

That always leaves us scrambling because we never have a supply of brown paper lunch bags around here so she ends up bringing her lunch in a small colored gift bag, LOL.hahaha I have a good story about my dd and those colored gift bags. She was in maybe 2nd grade and had a field trip where their teacher said bring a lunch packed in totally disposable bags. In those cases I always gave the kids what we called a "little bits" lunch...one of those small applesauces, string cheese, crackers, grapes in a ziplock, whatever... enough food to fill them up, some protein, and then I didn't worry about nutrition. I would usually put all that in a plastic grocery bag and then into a brown paper bag figuring that the paper bag would keep the lunch from totally shifting around. So one day I discovered early in the morning (of course) that I didn't have any more paper bags. So I grabbed a cute pink gift bag and stuck the lunch in there. At the end of the day when dd got home she pulled that bag out from the waistband of her pants and said "it was too cute to throw away so I hid it from Mrs. M.!" As for the OP's question....My dh sometimes takes leftovers for lunch and sticks those in a plastic grocery bag. Otherwise he keeps babybel cheese, figs, and nuts at work at that's his usual lunch with maybe a banana or apple brought from home. He sticks the fruit right in his briefcase. I'm having more trouble with mine because I'm looking for a bag that's the right size for the containers I just bought. I may end up just getting rid of the containers. They're plastic flatter trays with three compartments. The lid clicks on pretty well but I still don't want to tip them sideways so they have to lay flat. Problem is that they're a little bit wider than my regular lunch bag. sigh...So last time I used one I just put it in a plastic lunch bag and laid it on the bottom of my tote bag. Which isn't ideal. I may just go back to those "little bit" lunches that I used to make for my kids.

My dh has lunch provided by his company for $10.00 a week. It's all very healthy food and the company does it to keep the employees healthy.
I take my lunch daily in a soft foam fabric lunch bag.

Him-a soft sided cooler that he can transfer contents to s fridge. Cooler matters for him, if he has to be in the field vs building.
Me- I have a cute grey/yellow print “lunch bag” that I can toss my food into. It’s lined so it keeps any mess intact to be wiped out. It’s the perfect size too! Mine covers me both if I leave it out ( has 2 ice packs) or if I put in fridge, it’s small enough that it doesn’t hog extra space inside the fridge.

DH used a soft sided insulated lunch box. It's simple, brown, about 6"x9" or so (maybe more like 8*10). He's a grazer so he packs a mid morning snack, lunch, and mid afternoon snack. His lunches are mostly leftovers with nuts and fruit being his snacks. He has a water bottle that he fills up regularly at the water cooler.

He took a small cooler.
My adult son takes his in a grocery bag--but he has an individual crock pot at work in which he heats the left overs.

My husband puts his lunch in a plastic grocery bag. It drives me insane (bad for the environment) but he doesn't want a reusable bag (I think he's picturing a feminine 31 thermal bag with a monogram like our daughter takes her lunch in... I may look for a more manly type of reusable bag and buy it for him). I work from home currently, so no need to pack a lunch, but when I was working, I would bring lunch in a reusable bag as well.
