My iPad died last night. I put it down for about an hour and when I picked it back up it was black screen. It won’t go on with the on/off button. I know it is charged ( about 90%) and even plugged it back in just to see if that would work, but no.
My daughter has a MAC laptop and when she gets home from work I’m going to go to her house and see if I can hook my iPad to her MAC and maybe through iTunes restore it or get it working again. If not I’ll have to make the dreaded trip to the mall and the Apple store.
If anyone has any suggestions I’d love to hear them. I actually had to fire up my old crappy laptop this morning. Reading the board on it is a royal pain!

I had a similar problem once. I let the battery die down and after 2 or 3 days, I charged it and it has worked fine since

Yeah, last night I was hoping that it would magically turn back on this morning. My iPad felt warm last night but it has been really HOT here for the last week. I hoped it would cool off and start working again, but no.

Have you tried holding down the power button and the home button for a few seconds? That's how I reset mine when it has issues.

It might be the internal battery that died. How long have you had it. You might want to take it to the computer gurus at Best Buy they can test it to see what is going on with it.

I would try resetting. That usually fixes most things!
If that doesn't work an it's within the warranty, I would contact Apple. My daughter's iPad got really hot and it died. They replaced it in the store.

Thank you everyone. I held down the power switch and the home button and it worked!! it is up and running again. I'm going to go back up all of my bazillion pictures before it crashes again. Thank you all for the info.
Ya might know the first thread that I actually started would be begging for help. Y'all are wonderful.

Do you have Apple care on it? Call Apple even if you don't and see what they say......

Mine actually does this every now and then, especially if something needs to be updated. But then I'll go months without an issue.
