Okay, crafty people. The last weekend in January is ahead of us. Time to do a little warm up exercises to get in shape for 28-4-28! Your task for this weekend is to get set to create the whole month of February, so I thought maybe I would borrow from one of crystalb's Bash It challenges, and suggest what you could tuck into a 28-4-28 kit. Using a count down theme, grab a container and gather: 7 photos, groups of photos, or themes you want to scrap about in February. 6 papers you think will go with at least some of those photos. 5 sheets of cardstock or coordinating papers that will work with the photos and chosen pp. 4 sticker sheets &/or cut file bundles you think you can use 3 old items from your stash that really need to find a home on a page or two 2 new items or tools you have been dying to try 1 specialty paper or the supplies to create that paper (eg Minc foils, Oxide inks, paints, Nuvo drops...) Now that you have your basic kit packed, feel free to add anything else that might help you scrap the month away. Also, feel free to dig right in this weekend to get truly warmed up! (You can always replenish your kit!) Also feel free to share your kit in this thread. No pressure to actually USE it all once you have seen the Challenges, but who knows? Also, if you use up your kit before the end of February, you can always re fill it. I am thinking I will add a "Go Bag" feature to each Weekend Workout challenge during the month to replenish our main 28-4-28 kit or add a mini kit to it. I am tied up with family things until Saturday evening, but Sunday I hope to assemble and share my kit. This will be especially helpful for me b/c on the first I have an appointment for warranty work on my vehicle and will be spending the day at the LSS. If I have a kit ready to go, I just need to grab that and my tool bag and I will be ready to start off 28-4-28 with a bang!

Good idea. The number 3 item on your countdown list is my biggest hurdle. I think I might go though my "jewelry box" and get reacquainted with some of the brads and clips and things I don't reach for so often anymore.

I'm enjoying not pre planning anything at the moment but I'll definitely be thinking about things in my stash that fit in these categories that I'd like to focus on using.

Thanks for the prompts My plan is to finish up valentines this weekend to get ready. I have some photos that need editing, so this is a nice reminder to get cracking. I plan to use kits, but there is always cardstock and other embellishments to add. I'll work on pulling that out, and think about older stash items to use.
Will I finally open my fuse and learn how to use it? We shall see...

Thanks for the reminder! I’ll be using kits for scrapping but am going to go through and pull out some additional supplies to use, plus think about what I can do with my Cameo. I need to scan and print out a few more photos to work with as I’ve nearly finished what I currently have.

Great list. I need to figure how how to edit my photos without photoshop - new computer. Not happy with free software I have tried. This had been a big part of why I haven't scrapped in a while.

Great list. I need to figure how how to edit my photos without photoshop - new computer. Not happy with free software I have tried. This had been a big part of why I haven't scrapped in a while. I've had good luck with a free app for my PC called BeFunky. I use it to edit my photos and make collages (like fitting two 3x4s on a 4x6 print). I also like it because it lets me print odd sized photos without having to crop anything off. grammadee , you'll be proud of me - I have photos and background papers selected for my first 14 layouts. No clue as to what I'm going to do with most of them, but I'm getting there!

Love your list grammadee. I have to admit I'm so focused on getting my hostess part ready I've given no thought at all to the other days

I started to put my kit together today. As I have said before, I am not good at doing this: would way rather USE the stuff than organize it, but here goes: 7 photos, groups of photos, or themes you want to scrap about in February. I plan to scrap school photos FOR KIDS IN 3 different families + a cool school project of building an atom for Chemistry + hockey photos for 4 kids + Dance performance and a bunch of cool SISTERS pix I took at the event 6 papers you think will go with at least some of those photos. I grabbed some papers from my School tub + geometric design that reminds me of Ukrainian embroidery (and will add some hockey and Family themed papers) 5 sheets of cardstock or coordinating papers that will work with the photos and chosen pp. Dominant colours are: Black, white, and red for the Ukrainian dance pages and for one dgk's hockey team + navy and teal to reflect team colours for two more hockey players, plus some of the school themes. 4 sticker sheets &/or cut file bundles you think you can use So far I have cut a layered atom and title letters for the science project page + I hope to cut the school kids' names and a stack of books to use for titles on school pages + need to find my hockey sticker sheets to accompany the hockey papers. Downloaded some Silhouette hockey cut files, so will prob cut those. 3 old items from your stash that really need to find a home on a page or two In the photo below you will see some wood veneer pieces. I will probably add some more to the kit. Really want to use stars and arrows. I also want to use metal stars and arrows 2 new items or tools you have been dying to try Am already using my Silhouette to cut pieces for these LO's Expecting a parcel this week with Minc supplies in it: dying to try out some foiling 1 specialty paper At the back of my stack you can see some foiled pp I want to use for my school project photo. How are you doing with your 28-4-28 prep kits? Attachments:

SO I did not put together a kit but I have recently printed a bunch of photos from the Christmas season. I have all my Christmas stuff together and most of it is older - so got that covered! I have my new Cricut explore to use and I have some new stamps and supplies coming in tomorrow that I want to play with as well. Lots of specialty papers in my Christmas /winter stash. I would really like to use some of my Cork paper. I am ready to play!
