Good morning, Peas! Welcome to Color Chaos! Each Sunday I will present a color related challenge. Today we are doing Monochromatic Madness! Pick a color...any color...and create a layout using just that color. Feel free to add neutrals and metallics but otherwise, a single color only. Are you up for it? I went with aqua this week. I love to create monochromatic layouts and have them scattered throughout all my albums. I can’t wait to see what you create!

Thank you so much, LisaDV and grammadee! I’ve now added journaling and a couple enamel arrows. It’s ready for my album now. That’s the best part.

Here is mine. Your challenge created a kind of serendipity situation for me. I had these photos pulled out, thinking I might use them for DawnMcD's diecut challenge. Awhile ago I had picked up the background pp from Treasured Memories. (They print some of their own). The photos are actually from October and I had been thinking of really working the black cat theme for that, but never got around to it. And I had just received the February kit from Scrapbooking Fanatics with all kinds of pink in it. I don't often use pink anymore, now that the girls are older, but right after I read the challenge I spied these photos on the desk, saw her socks in the one photo and decided to run with it. So here you go: Monochrome PINK with lots of black (neutral, right?) and a little gold (metallic) Black cat love by Gramma Dee, on Flickr

Great LO lilacgal my favourite colour! And grammadee, I love that LO, great paper, it's awesome! I am thinking about this challenge, it's a bit late here in the UK now so I might get this one done tomorrow. I was still finishing off yesterday's water LO which has taken a lot of drying time lol!

Going through my winter papers I found this Let it Snow banner from Simple Stories and the B side of SEI gold snowflakes. Then one of the peas had sent me some Nutcracker stuff and these snowflakes were included. All of it matched my son's winter coat to make what I think is an unusual take on a masculine snow layout That IS an unusual colour combo, but it works! Love the photo blocking and all those piled in snowflakes!

Great page, myboysnme! I think it was a great color choice for this layout. The warm golden colors are a nice contrast to the chilly photos.

lilacgal What a fun challenge! I'm getting started right now. I love your aqua layout - so pretty. grammadee I love the pink and black combination. Pretty cat! myboysnme I would not have thought to use gold in my winter layout, but you nailed it! I'm totally stealing your idea in the future. mamakoala Color me green with envy over the pretty pink Kitchen Aid mixer. Mine is white, but I lust over the other colors. I love your multi-layered layout.

mikklyn that color was my son's choice LOL. I wanted more of an aqua, but pink is his favorite color and he's the family baker, so pink it is

I had something started last month that fits this challenge, so I finished it today. It's another card, and it was my first attempt at using Photoshop after switching from PaintShop Pro. The paper flowers are from Basically by Mommyish and the ribbon from Urban Kiwi by Shabby Princess. Everything else I made myself. Simply Dahhhling... by Jane Bradbury, on Flickr

so much creativity and beauty in this thread! My layout is grey-based and I was inspired by anniefb's beautiful layout in the Lift the Peas challenge thread grey on white ledger paper background with a grey on grey chevron border strip and a tiny little strip of black cardstock - both on the left. Two photos (4x6) matted in black stacked on the right. Added a black cardstock flourish cut with my Cricut under the photos. Used white foam letters on the border for my title (MIKASA) and made a tiny Japanese flag from cardstock (cut with the cricut) right above the title. That 1/2" red circle in the flag is the only spot of colour - everything else is grey/white/black. photos are of the museum ship Mikasa in Yokosuka, Japan

I did a 5x7 collage and had it printed. My sons have so many scrapbooks that I have been trying to do just one layout when before I could have done 2 or more. I also do the smaller 8.5x11 size now because of all my huge 12x12 books with no place to go. I use the 2 prints on one 4x6 option quite a bit, or even 4 on one 4x6!

another one for me for this challenge - 2 page layout scraplifted from BH's Creative Sketches vol. 2 pg. 19 (top) in blues (with some white/beige as neutrals).
background is a grey-blue - I used a beige/blue map patterned paper on the top half of each page and a strip of white cardstock through the middle of the page. Various sized circles of white, navy, and beige are scattered on the page - some half on, half off and/or crossing between the pages. Page one has 2 horizontal photos matted in white with a navy rectangle underneath them in the top left corner. My title "Yokosuka Harbour Tour" is on white matted with Navy and centred at the bottom. Page two has two photos matted in white and then navy - top is centred above the white strip, bottom is at right lower corner and there's a Navy anchor die cut (QK) on a partial circle to the left of it.

DS is stationed in Okinawa - right now I'm scrapping photos from his trip to Yokosuka and Tokyo last summer. He just left today on leave to Singapore and Malaysia - I'm looking forward to photos from there also.

I had 2 lovely weeks of scrapbooking and cardmaking in my clean, quiet home, so I was very happy. I actually grew up in Tokyo, and the kids managed to stop by my old school and my old house!

This was a tricky challenge for me & then I chose to do one of the trickiest colors for a scrapbooker- ORANGE. I am glad that we were allowed neutrals! Our dear friends got married this fall & asked my husband to be their Officiant. It was a lovely wedding incorporating both American & Filipino culture & traditions. The bride's favorite color is orange, but she only used it as an accent color to her neutral color pallet. 28-4-28 Day 4- Color by Pati Nuce, on Flickr
