Ugh, dinner again? I haven't planned anything. I guess I might go and buy some chicken thigh fillets during my lunch break, and something to marinate them in. Then DSO can cook them on the BBQ. I had to leave work and drive all the way to Kalamazoo Pardon my ignorance, but is that a real place or is it like we would say here "I had to drive out to Woop Woop" meaning a long way? kakamazoo is in Michigan 1/4 the way up the ‘thumb’ I think

AussieMeg, I just read your post to Jeremy and he got the biggest laugh. He says from now on when he's going on a road trip far away he's referring to it as Woop Woop.

He says from now on when he's going on a road trip far away he's referring to it as Woop Woop. we always refer to far away places as ‘guam’ Not sure where I got it from but something Like when the real estate person suggested we might want to look at houses 3 counties ( over and hour ) away and were like ‘might as well tell us to look at houses in Guam’ And yes I know Guam is a real place, but you can’t drive there or commute from there, so that where that saying comes from.

I live in Lansing, the Capitol. Kalamazoo is almost an hour and a half drive for me. I'm pretty sure I was an adult when I discovered that Timbuktu (Timbuctoo) was a real place.

Who would like to come sit around the bonfire with me? Our meteorologist said today we got 13.8 inches of snow this weekend.

It's family day here and we are going to go somewhere so I thought. Family Day isn't until next Monday Family Day in BC was today but NEXT YEAR we are aligning with you guys. Just not this year. Today the BC Museum is free but we went to the cemetery and took flowers and then the mall to get me some bath stuff from Lush. That was fun and what I wanted to do. For dinner tonight we are having leftovers. I am cooking back bacon (Canadian bacon) on the bbq, lobster, and I think there's some chicken or something in the fridge. I have more fresh pasta to cook so I will use that up, asparagus, leftover broccoli and salad with red wine vinegar. I took a poll to see what they wanted and they both wanted it. Easy. The dressing takes about 2 minutes to put together so it's not much different from taking whatever out of the fridge. I also like this a lot better. So did the men. The recipe came from the Best of Bridge book (the green one) and it's called Committee Salad. leannec you might have one of these cookbooks maybe? That's all that's new with me. We did talk about dogs (yay) and are getting the discussion going. We also talked about the wedding next week. All is going well with regards to that front. I am happy for the two of them.

I hope you don't mind our sweeeet doggies giving you lotsa love--- they will also look at you sooo pitifully as you try to eat your soup, trying to convince you they're STARVING AussieMeg ......Kalamazooooo IS a fun word, I can understand why you'd think it's just an expression jeremysgirl .....LOL over DH saying "woop woop!" Have y'all heard of the city called Truth or Consequences, New Mexico....I was sure it was a joke, but it's the actual name.

PolarGreen12, I swear by acupuncture. If I go in w/a cold by the next day I feel fine. She has healed bronchitis, viruses, aches and pains and recently an injured, likely stress fractured shin. When I started having bad hot flashes I told my Acu Doctor and she did one treatment and that stopped them. GO. You'll love it. miominmio , you did your mitzvah(hebrew for good deed) for the day. Hoping you are able to rest and get the kinks out, so that you are much better by morning. krcrafts , I've been through those times where it's one huge thing after another. All you can do is breathe and rest a bit more than usual. The storm will pass, but until it does you have a dinner tribe to support you. leannec , It is far less scary in reality than it is in your head. I'm glad that you are seeing that, too. I used to think that Kalamazoo was a made up place, too. It sounds like a kid's cartoon show.
