After a blissful hour at acupuncture I will face the real world and go grocery shopping. Tonight I'm making a seasoned chicken breast and roasted red potatoes. I will make roasted brussels sprouts for dh, too. He loves them. EW. What's on your menu? tuesdaysgone, how is your dh? I hope he's feeling better after such a scare. I'm thinking of leannec. You are a strong, courageous and amazing woman. You will grow and learn to be happy. We'll leave a comfy seat at the table, so that you can unwind and relax at the end of your day. Your tribe stands w/you. Be well, my friend. Have a good day and a peaceful week.

Thinking of you, leannec . We got more snow during the night. Woke up to 6 more inches. I love winter, but enough is enough. I have a feeling that spring is still at least a month away. Had to help a lady whose car ended up in a ditch. An elderly man helped also, but since he had heart problems, I had to do the digging and then I was the one who had to push. But we made it! The poor lady cried the entire time and wasn't any help at all (she had finished chemo last week). So now I'm on the couch, aching from my neck to my hips (no, I probably shouldn't have helped, but someone had to do it). Dinner? Nope, I'm Happy to say that there are enough leftovers in the fridge to feed the family.

We've had more snow here today, but thankfully no where near as much as miominmio. Today was an easy Monday - it is school break here this week, so no German class this morning. I still popped into the Family Center for a bit, to drop off some masks I had cut out for craft today - tomorrow is Fasching (Karneval) here, so we try to do something appropriate with the kids! Dinner tonight is Szechaun chicken stir-fry, as I also visited the Asian grocery just down for the Family Center and picked up a few packets of different spice pastes. I really like these as they are just enough for one meal, and only cost €1.50 at the Asian shop, so well worth the trip.

A trip to Raley's is in order to figure out what's for dinner. Maybe sloppy joes, maybe not.

I made teriyaki chicken noodle bowls in the past, and while dh liked them, they weren't really Asian because they were served in a bowl and involved noodles, not rice. Apparently, not only do Asian meals require egg rolls, they also require rice. Not sure where dh gets his ideas from, but I'm feeling accommodating, so I made the sauce from the noodles bowls to use for teriyaki chicken and vegetables, rice, and egg rolls.

Thinking of you, leannec . Hope all goes well as you start your program. It’s rainy and dreary here today and I’m having a hard time adapting to the new dog. I think I’m too old to have a puppy in the house and honestly, if I have to take care of one more thing, I just might lose it. I’m not even exaggerating. My dad is waiting for a call to schedule a surgery, so I’m on standby to go back to their house (3.5 hours away) while trying to get household, bridal shower and wedding stuff done. I always think, well, if I can get to this date (for whatever is planned), things will be okay. Right now it’s, if I can get to May 5 and get through the wedding, things will be calmer. I always thought it would be a fun time to plan my dd’s wedding with her, but I find myself wishing time away because I’m overwhelmed and exhausted and that’s a sucky way to live. If just one or two events had happened in the past year, I think life would be okay, but I realized last night that since last May, one major event after another has happened to us every single month and all of it together is so much to deal with. And I’m sorry for being so whiny. Just be glad you don’t see me in person with all my crying..lol. As for dinner, I took out hamburgers and will cook some vegetables to go with them, but I really want Chinese..lol.

I am making chicken enchiladas today. "Making" them as in I am assembling them from precooked chicken, pre-shredded cheese and canned enchilada sauce. And I'm making a prepackaged Spanish Rice to serve with them.

Keeping you in my thoughts, leannec ... you got this! Hang in there, krcrafts ... one thing at at a time - sorry you're so stressed. I'm going to try a new recipe in the instant pot... swiss steak. We'll have rice and roast brussel sprouts or asparagus... whatever looks best at the store.

Sending lot of positive vibes your way, leannec. Hugs to you, krcrafts. Anyone would be overwhelmed with everything you have going on in your life and looking like it will stay that way for months is hard. I have Brussel sprouts that need to be cooked, but am not sure what else to make. I'd be happy with just the sprouts, bacon & onion but I really don't think the family will consider that enough to be dinner. I could pull tuna out of the freezer or venture to the store to pick up some other protein. It is cool, cloudy & drizzly today so venturing outside is not appealing. Do tuna & Brussel sprouts go together?

leannec , krcrafts ... thinking of you both. Hang in there. I am planning sloppy Joes for tonight, too. The 8yo actually asked for them, after complaining last time that he didn't like them. And now I want Brussels sprouts!

hugs krcrafts. Hope things will calm down before May 5! Thinking of you leannec! Standing on the side lines cheering you on! I was thinking spaghetti for dinner tonight. My cold just keeps on. I am hopeful that I will feel better tomorrow. I slept in this weekend, but sleeping at night was disrupted by blowing my nose because I can't breathe. Lips are dry form breathing through mouth. Ugh. Hate colds!

Hi ladies! I haven't been here in forever, been dealing with some health issues and family issues that have taken all my time and energy. I hope everyone is well! I'm making pork chops and mushroom risotto, probably with some cooked beets on the side. A warm meal for a gloomy, gray day.

Hi Everyone, It's family day here and we are going to go somewhere so I thought. DS went out but goodness knows where. My dad hmmm.
Dinner tonight I want steak. We haven't had it in quite a while and I am ready for some. There is asparagus in the fridge, salad, and tomatoes. I bought some really thick egg noodle pasta the other day at the store and i will make them to go with.
Have a happy Monday!

leannec....I'm SO glad it went well !!! You're right---fear of the unknown is the worst! miominmio.....That was so nice of you to help that poor lady....I hope your soreness won't last much longer. @kkcrafts....hugs! DH asked me to make chicken tortilla soup. I don't follow a recipe, I just sautee chicken breasts, onion and garlic, then add cilantro, cumin, diced tomatoes, and chicken broth and let it simmer a long time for richer flavor. Served with fresh avacado, monterrey jack cheese, and chips on top.

Hugs @ krcrafts. I’m sorry your being overwhelmed I’ve been there and it’s not fun. Well actually with the divorce and stuff one could say I’m there right now but I don’t feel like I can’t keep myself afloat ( yet ) so I’m not counting now ( yet ) because it’s not the same if your stuff comes st you and your handling it as opposed to coming at you and you feel like you literally can’t breathe!
Hang in there Hugs

Good thoughts going to krcrafts and leannec. You are both facing challenges this week, but have the strength of the dinner tribe on your side. DH is still feeling "puny" and not in a mood to discuss it. I'll give him some space tonight and a dinner easy on his stomach. Rice and ?? for him and some fruit and whole wheat toast for me. Hubby had a blood draw and doctor's visit today and tomorrow has another doctor's visit with his neurologist. Coming later this week are some more tests and scans and another visit to his hematologist. I guess I understand why he's feeling grouchy tonight. He'd rather be back at work, but needs to get some of this doctor stuff out of the way. Talk about taking one day at a time.

Strong winds will carry our love and support arrows to you krcrafts . When life overwhelms me, good friends help to carry the load. My pencils do, too. We are your good friends on this thread - goodness knows how many of us have suffered from overwhelming situations. Even just typing (or using a pencil, as I do) to let us know and to detail what is going on in your life can help and we can help by knowing. Many mighty forces can come to your aid. We are having leftover vegetable quiche and raspberries and cream unless I can get dh to drive me to scrappintoee 's to sit at her lovely table with the soup pot on my lap. That recipe sounds great and I know what you mean by developing flavor by simmering. I grew up with a lightly bubbling pot every day - my mom was from Italy. Thanks for the thread. Props to our weekend leader, leannec, who has shown her own mightiness in starting her new life journey. May we all be so brave.

What a day! Big hugs to@leannec and krcrafts! Jeremy's truck broke down. I had to leave work and drive all the way to Kalamazoo and pick him up. His truck then needed to be towed to Grand rapids for fixing and it will be a miracle if it's done by Friday. This means hardly no pay for him this week. But on the plus side, we get to be together all week. We never got the tacos last night so tonight will be tacos for dinner. DS will have to fend for himself.

Ugh, dinner again? I haven't planned anything. I guess I might go and buy some chicken thigh fillets during my lunch break, and something to marinate them in. Then DSO can cook them on the BBQ. I had to leave work and drive all the way to Kalamazoo Pardon my ignorance, but is that a real place or is it like we would say here "I had to drive out to Woop Woop" meaning a long way?
