We are both working, so we went to the Cheesecake Factory last night. I had eggplant parmigiana; he had fettucine alfredo. We shared a piece of white chocolate raspberry cheesecake.
Back to calorie counting.

We're both working, so if we do anything it'll be pretty low key, either I'll make some steaks or we'll go out and eat somewhere.

Just found out that our favorite restaurant (literally across the street from our house) is opening again tomorrow. They close for vacation during the month of January into February (cause they are a seafood restaurant located at the beach, so they are crazy busy for 10 months of the year) Hubby said dinner will be there

We will be going out for dinner. We don't normally exchange cards or gifts, and I'm okay with that, but darn it, i'm not cooking...LOL. IT will be a family restaurant because we will have the boys with us. DH and I haven't had a date night in over 8 years, Valentines day is no different.

My husband and I bought ourselves a gift. We spent $16,923.91 yesterday on a new heat pump, auxiliary furnace, completely new ductwork, a fancy internet connected thermostat, and 12" of attic insulation. It's the most romantic fucking thing ever and it gave me a serious lady boner.
Yay for love!

Nothing special....I have Pilates tonight and if we were going out it would be next weekend because of the crowds. I did finish my Valentine's day five cards for DH and dropped them off before I headed to work. I swear making cards for him is really one of my favorite things to do. For Christmas I made him a shaker card and he loved it, so for Valentine's Day almost all of his cards were interactive since he seems to get a kick out of them.

I haven’t celebrated V Day in about 25 years. My late husband wasn’t into it. I now have been seeing a “gentleman friend “ and he texted me a VDay heart. I am on my second round of the flu so we can’t see each other. Suck’s getting old.

Good luck! what's the test for? On this particular exam, graphing quadratic equations. UGH. My yds had a midterm a couple of days ago doing the exact same thing. You two should commiserate together. We don't usually celebrate Valentines Day, but I might make macarons if I can summon the energy. Big IF. I sent yds card that contained a gift card that he can use to buy his favorite treats. I was going to bake cookies and send a whole care package, but it didn't pan out, so I did the lazy route. I gave ods a card and his favorite treats in person, since he lives here. compwalla, I have to disagree w/you. That is not at all romantic. It SUCKS! Blech! cindyupnorth, Wishing you a very Happy Birthday and a wonderful year ahead.

compwalla, I have to disagree w/you. That is not at all romantic. It SUCKS! Blech! Nope. I had an electric bill last summer that was over $650. Do you know how many roses and chocolates and fancy hotel rooms in which to bonk we could afford if our electric bill was cut in half? I'll tell you - it's a lot. So...new A/C means more opportunity for dirty weekends. You see? R.O.M.A.N.T.I.C. We have known for a year that this replacement was unavoidable so we've been saving up for it. It's expensive but the old unit and ductwork date to 1986. It was past time to replace it all and I'm seriously thrilled. Also I can adjust the temperature from my phone whilst under the covers in bed and that is fucking boss.

I pre-heat it before bed and it's awesome!

My husband preheats his side and then turns it off for the night and I like mine at a nice 2 or 3 all night. The chilly mornings I do NOT want to get out of the bed.The old thermostat could be programmed to heat up at a certain time but then on days I slept in, it would get too hot and it would wake me up. Now with the fancy-schmancy one I can lay abed, turn up the heat with my phone, and play Animal Crossing on my phone until the house is warmer. Sweet.

It's our 20th anniversary. We were going to go out for cocktails, a nice meal, and fancy dessert. But decided to stay in and cook a good meal at home instead.

I have volleyball tonight and DH is teaching at church tonight just like every Wednesday. After volleyball, some of the girls might come over for cocktails. I guess you could say we are over Valentine's day in our house. Lol. I will still make lobster and steak dinner, but probably not until Sunday.

I think I have the saddest plans of all. My husband is out of town on business, and usually is on Valentine's Day, so I'm here with the girls (our two little dogs). I cut their Cesar's dog food into a heart shape. They didn't seem to appreciate it. : :

Tonight DS is out for dinner with his girlfriend. They are high school seniors and have been together a little over 2 years.
DD (12) is at church youth group. So we are celebrating tomorrow.
For our wedding, we had a heart shaped card box. When DS was born, we started using that to put a few small token presents in, having a fun dinner (something easy, not fancy) and a small dessert. We've continued that tradition, but will do tomorrow since both kids are out tonight.
I'm kinda over celebrating VDay with the little presents, etc. But DD loves it so much (she actually enjoys giving more than receiving and always makes us sweet cards). So, I continue the tradition.
DH and I don't do anything for each other. I just bought him a card at the Dollar Tree.

Dh is working all day and evening until 3am. He said he checked with me before he set the schedule but I don’t remember. Me and the girls’ homework / showers / bedtime tonight. Once everyone is asleep I will cozy up with Offspring on Netflix. I was at Costco today so picked up some spanikopita for the girls. I made veg soup and I’ll make salad and they’ll be very excited. So basically it’s like every other day in our house except dh got me a subscription to our big theatre to see 3 plays - beautiful, come from away and the illusionist. Yay! They won’t be in town until next school year but we have 3 confirmed date nights next year already booked .

Having a kid still in school with lots of homework we decided to have a nice family steak dinner. I took votes on dessert and they voted for homemade apple pie. We do small gifts for everyone. Mine were a bromeliad (I always like bromeliads, orchids or anthuriums more than roses) and a pedicure gift card. Yay!
I've had a cough for 8 weeks so being home is great. Also my husband was awesome and went into work late so he could do the school run and I could sleep in. Sleep is good! hack, cough, hack....

Happy Valentine's Day Oh my! My husband went to Chili's and picked up the salted caramel motel cake with ice cream for lunch. We shared it. He said he wished I eyed him the way I did that cake.

My son's gf gave him a clear plastic container (like a clear tackle box) of fish and bobber sugar cookies, gummy worms, and other fishing themed candy. It was really cute. They had a $10 limit.
