I’ve packaged up the standard sized sets and am now working on the larger background stamps. Now I have a choice as to putting them all in the taller pockets or trimming the pockets down to fit the 6x6 stamps. If you use this system, which method did you ultimately go with and how is it working out?

I actually trimmed mine down, but this is something I've just done very recently so it's hard for me to offer a comment. But I honestly think I should have left them alone to see how that worked and if I didn't like the way they were, then I could have trimmed them down.

I left mine the same size...I like the consistency of my storage. I really think it's simply preference...

I only have 1 6x6 stamp and it sits in the space next to my freezer bin. 6x8 stamp sets I always cut in half and store in one pocket in my bin. Those pockets I put a piece of printer paper in so I can clearly read what's on that part of the stamp.

I used the AE 6.75 x 9.375 pockets and trimmed them down. I didn't like all that extra room on top. The only thing that bugs me about trimming them down is there isn't a flap to tuck in. But I've learned to live with it in order to have uniformity.

I have my 6x6 CTMH stamp sets, Tim Holtz sets, and the larger MFT sets in the AE 6.75 x 9.375 pockets and all left the tall size. I like it this way, works for me.

I use 3 different size pockets — CD size, Avery Elle medium-sized, and Ellen Hutson tall, plus stamp binders for Tim Holtz (Stampers Anonymous). I have quite a few stamps, but not a ton (yet). I don’t mind the pockets being different sizes, i pretty much know what I have and where it is. The idea of having them all uniform sounds nice, though. Sorry, none of this answers your question.

Just wanted to post an update on this... I originally cut a couple of mine down to fit cling background stamps. Turns out I hate it! Thankfully it's only a handful so I am putting them in the original size pocket! Guess I'm OCD!

I don't have 6x6 stamp sets, but I do have a few 4x8 stamp sets. My theory is the same regardless. If I have large stamp sets stored in the same place, I want them in the same envelope size so they are uniform. If you keep the 6x6 stamp sets in a different place, then I don't see any harm in trimming them down. I use a postcard sleeve for my 3x4 (and doubled up 2x3) stamp sets because I don't feel like 2 3x4 sets work well in the 4x6 pockets...they don't have a flap and the lack of one doesn't bother me in the slightest. In fact, I feel like the flaps are annoying and more of a hindrance in my larger sets as it is.

So funny that you're talking about this, as I am sorting my stamps in two envelopes right now. I have my six-by-six stamp holders and then I'm going to have a separate bin for the larger stamps. I haven't decided if I will trim down the envelopes or not.

Thankfully it's only a handful so I am putting them in the original size pocket! Guess I'm OCD! I have been trimming off the bottom of the pockets and taping the seam so they measure 6 3/4 x 7 3/8 tall. They sit together infront of my few XL in a 8” wide bin. This seems to be working nicely and they are easy to grab.
