I have a 14'x18' craft room behind the garage. I would love that much space. We have a long living room, so I've taken one end. We rarely use the living room. I spread into the dining room for my Cricut and laptop.

We are fortunate to have 2 extra bedrooms. One is a guest room and the other is my scrap/office. It is actually the former master bedroom and is still the largest room in the house. I uses to share it with the kids and their art/craft stuff but recently cleared most of that out and what is left can fit on a bookshelf. I still have more to clean out before I can redecorate that area. It will be a small sitting area to watch TV or read. The lids have several books cases in their play loft so now I get one for all my books.
I also have an office area in there which currently gets most of my time. I love that I can see the backyard easily to keep an eye on the kids and dog when they are out there.

Our craft area is in a family room / loft area in our finished attic. DD14's bedroom is up there too, and she's the other crafter in the family. It seems to work that I get the table for my projects during the school year, and she gets it during school breaks and all summer long.

Spare bedroom on the 2nd floor. The room has 2 small closets. One with built-in shelves and one with built-in drawers. (But I still don't have enough storage space)

I have a craft armoire in the dining room. Truth be told, my stuff has also taken about 3 bookshelves' worth of space outside the armoire, but I try to pretend that's not happening. The dining room also houses DH's desk and one of the kids' desks. You'd think by my description that it was a big space; it's not. Every inch of wall space is taken up with furniture - and yes, there's also a dining table in the middle. I like using the dining room because I can use the table to hold stuff, and when I have friends over to crop, I can put the leaves in the table and we can all work around it, using the armoire as a supply station. I also like it because it's literally in the middle of the apartment, so I can keep tabs on everyone.

When my house was originally constructed, it had 3 bedrooms, a living room, a family room, a loft, a dining area and a formal dining area. The original owner (I think) modified the floorplan by turning the family/living (depends on who you ask...the one by the front door) and formal dining areas into a Mother-in-law suite (done to code, I've researched...it has a bathroom) and later on (done terribly, probably not to code) they separated that room into 2 rooms. So our house has a T shaped room by the front door (thanks to closet and bathroom positions) as well as a hall where the door goes in sticking out just below the top left of the T. My husband occupies the smaller square room that was created with this added wall and I occupy the T shaped room with the bathroom. It was larger and when we toured the house, he immediately conceded that it would be my space even though he had way more stuff at the time. I started out with about 5 or 6 random Jetmax cubes that I had to have and found a use for at our previous rental as an entryway catch all, a cheap desk that my sister brought to my attention during a liquidation sale at an Aaron's (a rent a center type furniture place) many years ago, a folding table from Walmart that annoyed the crap out of me because I hated the fold in the middle being in my way all the time and a hodgepodge of cheap michael's photo boxes. It slowly evolved into what it is now and it often looks like an overflowing mess because my work in here is always negated by kids taking over any clear surface as soon as it's cleared (a clear desk, table or counter space makes me so happy and I hate that it never sticks, so I often just leave whatever out so I don't have to fight off an invasion from them because at least it's MY stuff and not theirs). Other than the Michael's cubes (of which I have 15 currently in my room but others have been cast off to the garage as I decide I don't need or want them), my furnishings are heavily procured from Ikea with a few things from the Elfa line from the Container Store.

I use a bedroom as my craft room. I decorate primitive style. I got some of my inspiration from Tim Holtz and Jenni Bowlin in my room. Their craft rooms are amazing.

Currently in my bedroom (thank goodness it is a HUGE room... small'ish house, 1,500 sq. ft... but bedroom is nice and big)
My "room" has been in several rooms. First was in a closest...it worked pretty good although small. Then when my 21 year old moved out and was going into the Navy.. I redid her room.. Painted it and made it my scrapbook room. Well that plan only lasted 3 months. She had an issue and got a medical discharge (didn't want to but was forced too) but anyways, moved back home and in college. Then it went to my bedroom, which actually isn't that bad.. although, I am itching for my own room again.

I’m so embarrassed to admit this but my craft desk is in my daughters room, in the corner. Someday we’ll have more room for me to create but for now it works and she doesn’t mind (too much). I totally forgot in my post.. I had a space like that too. My other daughter (9 years) didn't mind but I got sooo tired of her messy bedroom, I moved it out. She was then happy to have more room to spread her crap out... OYE.

I have a standing height folding table + rolling cart in the corner of our dining room, which also functions as the main "hallway" to all the other rooms in our hallway-less bungalow. I can turn around and use the dining table as an extra surface if I need to, and we don't eat there so I can spread out a bit. (Sort of. Relatively.). I'm basically standing in front of the doorway to the kitchen when I work, which at least makes it easy to go grab a snack or wash out a stamp shammy.

In the corner of my bedroom. At least the bedroom is large. I could fit into my bedroom too but moving the desk across the house is too much work. I assembled it in a room that wasn’t being used, and then kids shifted all around. So technically your daughter moved *her* bedroom into *your* scrap space... no need to be embarrassed about that.

Mine is in an unused bedroom. It is my craft/tv room for when I want my alone time. The dogs don't need their own bedroom, so they don't mind.

Mine is in the smallest of our spare bedrooms. It’s a small room but I feel so lucky to have a dedicated space.

Well, I'm a bit different, I'm in the conservatory! I'm really lucky, it's very light (it's basically a glass room) and I have an amazing view. I do get fading issues but it's a small price to pay!

We use our living room as a computer room/craft room. It has 3 desks: mine, DH and DS. It's separated though, not an open floor plan. In our last house, we used an extra downstairs bedroom. The house before that was an extra bedroom also. (we move often)

I have a tiny corner of the family room for scrapping and die cutting. I also have a large metal rack opposte my chest freezer near the slop sink. This is my stamping area. It’s a bit inconvient but better than nothing. I dream of moving into my Dd bedroom someday.

My craft room was intended as a small home office off the living room. A few years ago I had a kitchen cabinet place custom build some pantry units, a couple of counters with big drawers beneath, and some open book shelves. They included a small corner computer desk. I also use the short hallway from the office to the bedroom for storage/ work space with a collection of Recollections and Martha Stewart cubes and a canadian tire kitchen cart.

I have the whole finished basement plus use part of the utility room for storage. It’s a huge space and I don’t have to share. (My DD does come down there to work on stuff with me sometimes, to do her homework or watch videos on my tv.) My sewing area is on one side of the stairs coming down and my office/scrapping/stamping/crafting/ space is on the other larger side. DH has a separate office on the main floor of the house. We would never be able to share, we would drive each other nuts with our respective messes.

woodysbetty I love your space! So neat and organized! And those tables are amazing!! My space is a second bedroom in the basement. Our house used to be an income property for the previous owners so the basement is actually a completely self-contained apartment. DD has claimed the basement as her own, but her and her boyfriend are planning to buy their own house this year. When that happens, DH and I will renovate the basement completely and hopefully that means that my studio will get just a little bit bigger!

In this house, I have the entire dining room. I love it. I can look out on the front yard and it is so peaceful. In my last house, I had to share my craft space with my boys computer, homework space in a very small dining room.

I have a she-shed in the backyard. It's a Tuff Shed that we insulated and dry walled. I had it made with built in shelves, windows and a skylight. It was a milestone birthday gift from my mom and husband.

I moved last year and finding a house with a good scrap space was high on my priority list. My scraproom is in a room just off the kitchen. It used to be a garage but now it is my scrap room. Once I go through all the boxes, I think it will be great! I am going to need to get new lights, though. The lighting is pitiful.
