I have a few recurring dreams that are slightly annoying, and I'm sure they'll stop once a certain problem in my life is resolved. But NIGHTMARES---ugh! I don't have them very often, but the recent school shooting caused one of the worst ones I've ever had. How about you?

I would say once a month I have a dream about a bridge. Sometimes it’s scary, sometimes it’s not. Usually the bridge is fine on the way up the span, but then it narrows to only enough room for tires; or it goes into the water; or we have to walk over it.
So strange to always have the same thing. I know it’s symbolic of something - just not sure what.

I usually dream about bad travel plans. Last night we were at a janky resort and one of the excursions was being thrown across the swamp by elephants. always triggered by making travel plans.
I also dream about my husband having a woman on the side every now and then. I wake up pissed and can't shake it. its happened 3 times.

I had a nightmare a few nights ago that makes NO sense. I was on a city street with 1940 era cars parked along the street. An older Greek Orthodox priest (he had a white/grey beard) walked up to me and in a very friendly cheery voice said "I think this belongs to you" and handed me a roll of silverware like you get at a restaurant where the knife, fork and spoon are folded then rolled in the napkin. For whatever reason that roll of silverware sent me into an utter panic. I woke up in a panic. I have no idea why. Cheerful priests with table ready silverware aren't normally a threat in life.

Mine is really kind of silly. When I was a child, I knocked out a permanent front tooth and about 20 years later, the adjacent front tooth had died as a result of that initial injury. I've dealt with a lot of subsequent dental work and drama. I have had implants for both for a long time. But my recurring dream is my teeth fall out again. I'd say about once a month.

I have a few recurring dreams and nightmares.
One is I'm a little girl and I'm being chased. When I run out of places to run there is a pit with a house-sized spider in it. As a kid I would wake up screaming. Eventually my parents took me to a doctor who helped me understand that I either had to confront who was chasing me, or jump in the pit with the spider and try to make friends. I chose the later and now nearly 50 years later that spider helps me with decisions.
Another from my childhood is my sixth birthday. Along my life as I've met people that impacted me in some way, they will show up in my birthday dream. I just keep adding people to this party and now the room is huge. Everyone brings me a spirograph, and I'm stupid happy.
My anxiety dream is driving a motorcycle on a bridge that winds up and up and is only just wide enough for the motorcycle that is hurtling along at 100 mph. I hate this dream.

I have nightmares about the subway. Missing the train. Falling off the platform. Being on the wrong train watching the right one go by. The list goes on and on. I have them quite a bit.

When I was a student, I dreamed I was rushing to class, late, couldn't find the right room, then arrived to discover we were having an exam that day and I hadn't studied. As a teacher, the dream morphed into arriving at the classroom after the same frantic search, and realizing I had prepared to teach a totally different course.
The dream often disintegrates into my trying to find my way out of the situation through hallways that twist and turn and change as I walk through them, usually ending in stairs that get narrower and steeper until I can't climb them any more. At this point I have taught myself to realize this is a dream so I can wake up.

My recurring dream is that I am in the back seat of the car. The car is rolling, and I am unable to get to the brakes to stop the car from crashing. I never see what the car will hit. It’s always just me in the car. I’ve had this dozens of times.

My recurring nightmare is about an airplane going down. I'm in the plane, and the plane starts to descend quickly. I know it's going to crash. Then all of a sudden I'm on the ground watching the plane crash. Over and over and over. It's like I keep replaying the plane crash from inside the plane then from outside the plane.

Mine is very similar to yours except that I am driving the car and all of the sudden I cannot see...like metal shutters have just completely closed off all light. I know that I am going to crash into something eventually but there is nothing I can do about it. I had this dream frequently for several years but now it's been about 3 years since I've had it.

The recurring dream I've had for the past few years is I'm walking along then look down and see an alligator next to me. I try to step away but there's another one - they are everywhere.

The next day it flashed through my mind, and I actually screamed. Threw my dog for a loop, I tell ya! Oh my yes, THAT is a NIGHTMARE! Not remarrying but STILL married to him and trying to leave. I had that nightmare for 3 years from the time I filed for divorce and moved to ANOTHER state sight unseen until I met my late husband. It abruptly stopped when I met B. I had another recurring sleepwalking BUT I knew I was sleepwalking. I had it from the time my father died when I was 8 until I was about 14 when I woke up COMPLETELY when I was searching for my mother. Never had it again after that. The dream was that I'd get up and go find my mother and my sister sleeping and just look at them from across the room but felt like I couldn't touch them, that I was in a "bubble" all alone. I hated that dream, I'd wake up so sad. Fortunately, they never woke up and saw me staring at them or it would have freaked them out!

In my recurring dream I have to pee. So I go looking for a rest room, and the one I fine is either so dirty I can't stand to be there, or all the toilets are weird - so weird that I can't figure out how to use them.
Such a dumb dream, but I've had it off and on, my whole life.

Whenever I’m under stress, I dream I’m back in high school taking an exam I didn’t study for. How I do is always dependent on who’s proctoring. If it’s my AP English teacher, I can manage, but sometimes it’s a nun that I was kind of scared of, and she’s ready to start flunking left and right.
In one version, I remember actually raising my hand and telling her that I’d already graduated college and had my Masters, and even saying: “I think I’m married now.” 😂 Then she told me if I failed the test, they’d take it all away: my degrees, my job, and I’d have to go back and do it all over again. 😳 No pressure there. I hate that dream so much.

I have a dream about a house. It’s the same house in every dream. I’ve never seen this house before but in my dream I know every nook and cranny. I’ve dreamt about this house once a month for years. It’s weird. If I believed in reincarnation I would say it was my house in another life.

I’ve never been outside but the house is an old victorian. It has a center entryway. There are rooms coming off both sides of the foyer. Straight ahead is the kitchen. On one of the walls is a painting of a landscape. The front door is leaded Glass. It kinda has a L shaped staircase. When you get upstairs, the door on the right I know is my sons room. Mine and husbands is straight ahead. There’s beautiful woodwork all throughout the house. Maybe I’m just dreaming of my dream house. Who knows.

Dreams like these just interest the heck out of me, because I do believe in the possibility of reincarnation, which in cases that are credible, have verifiable details that the subject would not otherwise know. Your level of detail recall is phenomenal, and makes me wonder if that house is out there somewhere. 😊 Or maybe you are just dreaming of the perfect home. Then again, I don’t think they make lead glass anymore, which is an intriguing detail. 🤔 There was a doctor at UVA that did really involved academic studies on reincarnation and children — average ages between three and five — most of them in India, Nepal, and Southeast Asia where such beliefs are not uncommon, and some of the cases were really freaky: they were speaking languages they had no way of knowing, talking about their wives and families “from before” and in one case a little boy describing his murder. 😧 Western thought and spirituality tends to reject anything outside of the “one soul/one life” paradigm, but I’ve always wondered. Who knows?

Such a dumb dream, but I've had it off and on, my whole life. I had that dream for many many years! The toilets were either super nasty, or in public places like the middle of a restaurant dining room; sometimes both nasty and out in the open. The last time I had that dream was the week after my divorce was finalized. I had one last toilet dream. In that dream I revisited all the previous nasty/weird toilets but they were either super clean if they had been in an actual bathroom, or gone (sometimes I could see where the flooring was a newer finish like new tiles) I've not dreamed about a toilet since.

I have a a recurring scene but the dream is always different. The scene always has something to do with an elevator. Like I will get on an elevator in my dream and one of the four corners is wonky so we are traveling crooked or it is very hard to get to the elevator - like a small opening. Weird things. When I am awake and getting on an elevator I am usually fine. But I did stay in Seattle and in the evenings, I had a really tough time getting on the elevator in the AirBnb we were at. I had to force myself to get on it. I'm hoping my dreams don't lead to a phobia!

I go through periods where I have very explicit terrifying real nightmares every night for 10-20 days in a row. Lately the dream involves a crashing 747 that I am on, or the plane starts flying upside down, or I’m on the ground and see it crash, or it’s coming right at me. I wake up and I am drenched and the dream stays with me all day. Then it will happen again the next night.
another dream along the airplane theme is the alien dream. The sky opens up and reveals to people on earth that aliens are up there and now have control over us. I’ll be running from building to building to get away from ufo’s with guns. They’re following me and I go inside but they are looking in the windows and shooting and I have to press up against a wall very hard to try and hide from them.
other nightmares that I have involve not being able to find my car. Being really lost and I think I get my bearings and my car will be right around the next corner but it just gets further and further away.
another series of dreams is about having to pack everthing I have and move very quickly. Sometimes I’m in a hotel room and can’t seem to pack everything up. I keep opening drawers and finding more stuff. I don’t want to leave anything behind but if I don’t get it packed I will lose it.
The other night I had an epic nightmare about losing my dog.
Oy, I sound like a real lunatic, don’t I?

I have always had dreams about tornados. I've never seen one in real life but I always have to try and find shelter or get my kids to shelter.
Recently, a new level has been added: I can see a tornado coming and want to find safety but no one around me believes me or noone cares. It's so frustrating trying to get everyone to take shelter.
It's usually my husband in the dream who won't do what I tell him, hahaha!

Such a dumb dream, but I've had it off and on, my whole life. I have this one all the time. I'll find a toilet and sit down only to have it really be a pedicure chair or a dentist chair. I have taught myself to recognize this dream and wake myself up. I really have to go to the bathroom badly when this happens and I've decided I am in too deep a sleep to recognize it naturally. I've taught myself to wake up from the one where I continue to pull ever ending gobs of gum out of my mouth as well. This one is so frustrating but doesn't seem to mean anything.
