I haven't used a Cricut in FOREVER!! I still have the original Expression machine! I do have SCAL on it (which I know was banned due to a lawsuit, etc), so it hasn't even had a firmware update in years. LOL I got a Gypsy once upon a time that I did like to use sometimes too.
So, I decided to step into the 21st century and just purchased a Cricut Explore Air 2. Gulp!!
What is the best way to learn how to use it to it's fullest potential??

YouTube! There are entire Cricut "schools" for beginners. Also, Facebook! There's a large group called "Cricut Design Space with Melody Lane" that's heaven-sent.
The YouTube videos are in perfect conditions and circumstances, but don't account for software issues or error codes, etc. This is where Facebook comes in! Just search the group for your code or key words, and there's almost always someone who's asked before you. If not, you can screenshot and post, and you'll have an answer quickly!
Enjoy your new Cricut!

Yay!
I'm still using the original Expressions and SCAL, and I also have the original Cricut software (which IMO was terrible). I got rid of almost all of my cartridges. I kept a few fonts, Tags Bags Boxes, and the 1st Critters cartridge. All others I sold or gave away. Sometimes it's easier to just pop in a cartridge to cut one thing. I got a great deal on a Silhouette Portrait and I downloaded SCAL for that too. I have both machines ready to go, it just depends on what I want to do.
YouTube is the place I would go to learn how to set up and use a new machine. Have fun learning.

Another vote for YouTube!
Just search for "Cricut Explore Air 2 tutorials" to find a variety of helpful videos.

Other great Cricut Facebook groups are Cricut Lovers Guide to Design Space, and Cricut Explore and More. The admins who started these groups were both big helps way back on the Cricut message board days, and are still really helpful. Do you still have your Gypsy? Did you link your cartridges to it? If so, and it still works, you can link that to your Design Space account and still use those images. I remember doing that, and was glad it worked because I had so many cartidges linked to my Gypsy. You can only link a cartridge one time, so it helped so much to be able to bring the cartridges that were owned into Design Space. Have you set up your Air 2 yet? It is pretty easy to use, and cuts great.
