Is anyone going to the Expo in Pleasanton this weekend? I'm planning on going with a few friends on Friday. I haven't been in years, maybe since 2010. I switched to digi in 2009 so the expo didn't hold much interest for me. Now that I'm back to making cards I'm kind of excited about going.
At the first Expo I went to, I was just starting into SBing and my BIG purchase was the long handled QK! That just seems so funny to me now. I hate to think of all the QK dies I collected (yes, I was a collector!) and now never use, but I just can't seem to part with them.

I am on the fence. Probably not though. I went last year, and felt it was so expensive! Tolls, gas, admission, parking. I bought 10 packs of paper at 4 a piece at Echo Park, and some die cuts from Paper Wizard. The sales get better towards the end I believe. Booths start handing out flyers with the new discounts.

I forgot all about it. I'm always out of town for the Santa Clara one and never think about the other one. Does the expo normally have brand new stuff or is it older stuff at a deal?

We have discount coupons so $2 off the entrance fee. No tolls for us, but I forgot about the parking charge. I don't expect to buy anything, but DH did say that I needed to order a St Patrick's Day stamp set since I don't have one. Hopefully I'll find something there. We didn't sign up for any classes or crops. I think we'll just do a walk around the floor, a few make-n-takes, leave for lunch, then drive home before the commute traffic starts. The main reason I'm going is to hang with my friends.

Admission is $8 online shop.scrapbookexpo.com/Admission-C931.aspx$15 at the door! I think I'll skip it the costs just to get in I could save and order some things online. I don't think any of my friends would want to go and I don't typically do make n takes unless it's a new technique I don't know

No, I am more of a fan of Santa Clara and Sacramento. Since I go on my own, I like that I can park once at the hotel for a few days and walk to the expo. I went to Pleasanton once and was not a fan of the set up. At that time the classes were in one building and the shopping was in another and it was a rainy day so we got drenched going in between. Is it still set up that way?

Now that you posted it, I am actually interested in some classes on Friday. Depends if I can get away from work on Friday.

I went today. The classes were just okay but the shopping was a lot of fun. I found some specific items I had been looking for (deco brads, stickles, Kauai and skateboarding paper). I did notice, if you liked premade pages and diecuts, you were in heaven. And some of those ladies are enthusiastically nuts!

The enthusiasm for our little corner of the crafty universe is contagious. Being among my own kind is my favorite thing about going to the Expo.

I went to the Expo yesterday (Friday). We used a coupon and the early bird entry was only $8. There was a lot of people there, but I didn't think as many as my prior Expo experiences. It was also smaller (number of booths) than I remember. I thought there would be more demos of Cricut, Scan N Cut, Gemini, etc. A few times I got claustrophobic when I got stuck in a booth with a crush of people.
I couldn't believe how many people were buying pre-made pages. One lady in front of me had a huge stack. I was wondering if that's how she SB'ed. But I guess if you didn't have much time or had a physical limitation then that's the way you can continue something you enjoy.
Interestingly there were no, or I just didn't notice, PL cards or that style of SB-ing.
I'll sort out my haul and post a photo later.

I live in Southern Calif. and the closest one to me is Ontario CA. I’m not interested in the classes so I’m really just going to shop. By the times I’ve paid for parking, admission, and gas I figure I can just buy online.

My smallish haul from the Expo.
Edited to delete photo
I've never used a ColorPlay stamp so I hope that background stamp works well, if not it was only $5. The St Patrick's day and the Turtle sets are Stamp of Life/Stephanie Barnard/Sizzix. I haven't used her stamps either but I've heard of them. The line was really long and several people I was chatting with said they were club members and it was a quality brand. I think if it was crap, Sizzix wouldn't put their name on it, so I took a chance and bought them. The Dahlia background die is from Poppy Crafts. Another company I've never heard of, so I hope it works well.
The only items I had on my Expo list was a St Pat's Day set (and this was the only one I saw), and a Happy Mail stamp.
