This challenge is for those who scrap slowly and need encouragement to keep scrapping all month or those who want a little encouragement to continue scrapping. It is great for those new to Challenges and is a fun place to come chat with other Pokey scrappers. 1. Post a layout each week, or four layouts per month. These can be posted in the thread or in the gallery. If you post in the gallery, be sure to come to the thread and tell us you posted and tell us the name of the layout so we can find it. You can copy the URL from the gallery and paste it directly into your thread for a link. 2. This challenge can be combined with any other challenges and can be paper, digital or hybrid scrapping. These can be cards, layouts or altered items or any other creative projects. 3. Please comment on the work of others on the thread as your time allows. We all love comments on our layouts. 4. Have fun with this! This should be a "no pressure" challenge. Just post what you finish whether it is one layout or more than four. Come chat with the group as time permits. We love to welcome new members . There are no prizes for this challenge, just a chance to enjoy the works of other Pokey Peas Refugees. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.

Welcome to the March thread. I am tending Alex this morning and he is keeping me busy. @elaynef , I am so grateful that your DD is doing better. Is this something that has bothered her all her life, or a new malady. I hope you are able to find good help for her. Please be careful going home. We are expecting a BIG storm on Sat. I hope it doesn't reach to your area as you travel. grammadee , thank you so much for such a fun month in Feb. I really thought I'd join, but probably only do a couple of challenges. I found that when I have a goal with perimeters I work a lot faster. Guess I need to set my own prompts. I am working on a perpetual birthday calendar to hang in my scraproom. If I finish it before the 5th I'll post it. I am on May! Alex thinks he needs to make "pretty paper", so I'll be back later. Have a great month all you wonderful Pokeys.

Thanks for the new thread, nylene. Congratulations on finishing all those pages! Not sure exactly what the May crop will look like, but I am looking forward to setting it up once the dust settles from this one. I hope your dd is recovering, @elaynef. Bet you are looking forward to being at home. My dd has been struggling for years with an autoimmune disorder. It doesn't help that they have to move every couple of years b/c of her dh's job, so just when she finds a doctor who will listen to her and perform the correct tests/prescribe the proper meds, they have to pull up stakes and relocate to a different town. Thanks for that bouncy turtle, scrapincin. It really represents all the scrappy activity of the Pokeys this past month. I will have to keep looking at him when trying to figure out what to do for Calvinball, and tell myself "You can DO this!" Thinking this will be more relaxing for me when I only have to think about my own pages. I am looking forward to a little more dropping in to just chat this month. And where better than with all you caring Pokeys?

nylene, thanks for the thread. I hope Alex has fun making pretty paper - that's great! @elaynef, your poor dd. Has she always had food sensititivities? Let us know if the chiropractor helps. grammadee, I hope you create like mad for CB. Will the doctor's not read through previous doctor's file/notes for your dd? Although I didn't think I'd get any time today, life changed, and I've created 2 layouts so far. I've been double dipping - completing the 28-4-28 challenges and counting it in CB. Gotta love that. But now I'm off to go clean up from lunch and feed chickens and walk dogs and...then I'll probably sneak back into the craft room for a layout before making dinner. So off I scoot. Have a good day everyone.

Last time I looked, weather forcast was good for my drive Saturday . Gonna watch for blue bonnets, but don't expect to see any.

Just a short note to say Thanks to nylene and grammadee Nylene for the new thread and gramma for all the work you did on the 28-4-28! I didn't get A LOT done but others did and you stayed caught up. Also grammadee I sent you a message with some ideas for the card you need to make. I have been under the weather with a bad headache and upset stomach and had to put the oxygen back on as my pulse ox was running low. I see my pulmonologist in 2 weeks. BBL

Good Friday morning! What is in your plans for the weekend? How did Alex do with his pretty paper, nylene? I really wish the dgk's were closer so that those everyday moments were closer together for me. I hope you are feeling better, scrapincin, and that you get home safely, @elaynef. How much snow did you get, msliz? Looked like a lot along the east coast. Are you ready for another blizzard, LisaDV? We are forecast to have quite a bit of snow by Sunday afternoon. But it was supposed to start today and the sun is still shining here... Dh went to town to have coffee and pick up essential groceries. I think I will drive in to do my banking. Was planning to do that, but when he was talking about the big storm yesterday, I had decided to leave it until Monday. Still not sure what I will do... Finished a couple of pages this morning, and claimed points for both 28-4-28 and Calvinball. I see LisaDV and maribeth and are playing over there too, along with a few other peas. I need to do some organizing in here b/c I can't find things this morning. One piece of 6x6 cork eluded me several times before I finally nabbed it and cut off the piece I needed. Who knows where it is now? Sweet Valentines 1 by Gramma Dee, on Flickr Sweet Valentines by Gramma Dee, on Flickr

Betty, good to see you here! Jump right in.
Cindy, I’m so sorry that you had to put your oxygen back on. I hope you get better quickly. Then the oxygen come back off.
Elayne, I hope they can find the cause for your dd and that you have a safe drive.
Dee, I’m swooning over your pages! I 💗 both of them! Hope you stay warm during the storm.
Further south got hit with snow but other than a cloudy day, we were good. We’ve been mid-30s with one 50. This Sunday is suppose to be 47 and sunny😎 ! Monday Tuesday and Wednesday they expect rain to frozen mix.
I was sending an email this morning and asked the attachment was loading, I went about other tasks and when I came back my computer was completely off it would not turn back on. I’m getting ready now for a teacher conference but after that I was going to run the computer up to the computer guys, thought I’d try it again first though. Luckily this time it came on. Must have knocked a wire loose or something. I’m extremely thankful at the moment. I spent yesterday afternoon editing photos and would have possibly lost them. Now I can finish them today and send them off to be printed.
Okay teacher has msg she’s ready, so I gotta go. Have a wonderful Friday evening everyone

Hey Pokeys. Sorry I've been AWOL. LOAD and 28-4-28 kept me hopping. I still have to go and read the end of the February thread. nylene thanks for setting up the thread. Congrats on your productive February. grammadee thanks for setting up the 28-4-28. I really work well with challenges and I managed to combine LOAD with 28-4-28 on several days. I've had a very lucky month: I won and adhesive prize from LOAD and a die set from Karen Burniston's Facebook page. LisaDV I hope your computer continues to work. We bought a new laptop and as soon as we did, our old one seems fine. scrapincin take care of yourself. I hope your O2 levels improve. I think I might have a quiet weekend. DH is flooring at the other house and he says that's a 2 person job (him and his dad). His mom and I might paint the closets. It's the only painting left other than the trim that we haven't bought yet. Have a great weekend everyone.

That's kind of what we are experiencing too. Right now, she is eating broccoli, asparagus, brown rice, quinoa, chicken, all steamed. Everything else she has tried causes stomach distress and rapid heartbeat. She is stable though, and was able to accompany her dh as he drove me halfway home. (with her broccoli, rice and chicken in a thermos) We did find some bluebonnets today..5 miles from our home. I heard about them on facebook and we stopped by to take the pretty little fellas picture.

scrapincin, I am worried about you having to start the O2 again. I hope your coughing will allow you to get the sleep you need to recover. Please take care of yourself. You are in my prayers. grammadee, you are still scrapping up a storm! I can't believe you are doing Calvinball now too. I loved the 28-4-28, but I'm ready to spend some time doing something besides scrapping since my house is a disaster. Good luck to you and LisaDV, maribeth, justjac and any others who are going to attempt it. BTW, Alex loved "making pretty paper" for about 5 minutes and then he was off to something else. That's a 5 year old! msliz, you did so well on the challenge. Are you doing Calvinball? woodysbetty, so nice to see you popping in. It was fun getting to know you better last month. @elaynef, I'm glad you got home safely and that your DD is doing some better. LisaDV, I hope your family is all well by now. I haven't finished my calendar. It's nothing fancy but I still have to do Sept and October and then I'm finished. I will post it then. Our huge storm missed us, but it's supposed to storm again tomorrow. We had 4 big semis blown over out west of us and the winds were 70 mph here, but there was just a skiff of snow. The snow is supposed to come tomorrow. I am now teaching 6-year-olds at Church and I find that I run out of lesson before the time is up. So I have spent today coming up with more activities. They are so much different from the 10-year-olds I have been teaching for many years. I have much to learn!!

Glad the worst of the weather is missing most of us. It snowed most of the day today, but not nearly what we were expecting. And certainly nothing like the huge storms to the south of us. Glad you are home, @elaynef and that your dd is feeling somewhat better. Hopefully she will be able to add more variety once her system gets used to digesting food again. I hope your computer doesn't cause you grief, LisaDV . Technology can be a real pain sometimes. Look after yourself, scrapincin . nylene , I am not really worried about getting a lot of pages done for Calvinball. I certainly won't be rushing. Right now I am double dipping there while I finish up some of the challenges here I didn't get to. And I am not involved in all the volunteering that you do. I am glad you are enjoying those little ones in Sunday school. Bet after all those cousin camps, you have lots of ideas to keep them interested and involved. Here is the page I did today. I hope you are proud of me that I used my Silhouette to find & order the cut file, then use it to cut 3 layers, each in a different colour. (But all the other little pieces, including the banner, came from various sticker sheets). Best part of winter by Gramma Dee, on Flickr

Hi Pokeys, I'm checking in to say hello. Yesterday we drove to DDs college to watch her perform a minor part in their Jazz show, and I have a few new photos to scrap. grammadee, I love your page, especially the steam from the cup! Thank you again for all the work you put in for the February challenges. It was a great motivator, and I got so much done because of you and your crew. I want to scrap more today to get another page or 2 done before the deadline, but I don't think it's going to happen. DD14 missed a bit of school last week, and I'm going to have to help her get back on track with her make-up work today (she did absolutely nothing yesterday when I was gone.) nylene, for Calvinball, I'm only going to play along here on this board, but I don't think I'll be half as productive as I was in February. Like you, I just have too many other projects that need my attention. We had a small tree come down in the backyard during this recent storm, the second tree over the winter. DH cleaned up the bigger part of the messes, but I'll need to clean up the smaller twigs and branches before he'll need to mow the lawn. I hope I still have another month before then, but with this weather, who knows? Have fun with your 6 year olds! Extra time means arts and crafts! @elaynef and LisaDV, I hope your children are feeling better. scrapincin, how are you feeling? Any improvement over the last few days? Waving hi to justjac, woodysbetty, and kellyr21. See you all around the board!

Hi all! Just stopping by for a few minutes. I a going to post the card I made for DGD birthday. Its not the best pHoto in the world but it gives you the idea of it. I found one on Pinterest and thought it was a good choice since she is at the awkward age. I want to Thank you all for your concerns for me. I believe the weather changes make my cough worse. You go from 60 to 32and heavy rain and snow within 5 days and it messes with your body. As a matter of fact one of the questions we asked the moms that brought their children into our office did they get worse with weather changes. -in case you don't know I was an allergy nurse. I see my doctor in about 2 weeks and we are going to discuss this. Any way enough about me. I have to say everyone did so well in the month long challenge. grammadee I do not know how you kept up with all of that stuff. nylene I was so surprised you got so many done as busy as you are. Everyone's works of art were really good-I have tried to keep up in the gallery but if I missed one that you did please know it was accidental not on purpose. Here is my card and I hopefully will be back tomorrow and I forgot to say I only needed the O2 for the one day. Maggie's Birthday Card by Cindy Blair, on Flickr Have a good evening!

Happy Monday! My computer has continued to work. I picked up my photos on Saturday and ran errands. Sunday, I went to church with ds. So my weekend was busy, but the evenings were just chillin' with the family. So that was nice. justjac, you did have a great and lucky month. How's the house coming along? @elaynef, I'm glad your home safe and that you found some bluebonnets. I hope your dd will find a dr. that will listen and try to help her and for her healing. nylene, I'm sure your extra activities will be brilliant. I taught pre-school and tried to have a fun more craft related activity and if they finished that, it was coloring pages of that day's lesson. grammadee, glad the bulk of the storm missed you. I love your cute coffee/hot chocolate cup. It's a fantastic page. If I remember correctly, your dd was going to do a low fodmap diet last year. Did she do it? How did it work for her? I ask because I just started dd on it this week. Last year when we did the elimination diet she showed improvement. We were suppose to eliminate all of the elimination diet foods plus the high fodmaps. Of course, it seemed like every site or book had differing information. So I checked out a couple of books from the library in February and have read up on it. I'm still not certain I'm doing it 100% correctly, but she is already showing signs of improvement for the first time since November. This made me wonder if it helped your dd too. msliz, I hope you share your pages. I love jazz. woodysbetty, that is a nice surprise. Did you do something special or just hang out and visit? scrapincin, that is a super cute card. I think it's perfect for a tween to young teen. So I'm curious, if issues acted worse during weather changes, what does that mean? I guess I just thought everything was worse with weather changes and various pressure fronts. DS was better the next day from the migraine, although his stomach gave him issues for a couple of more days. I think because he was a bit dehydrated from the migraine/vomit day and the next day he was busy trying to get his school work from that day and the day before finished that he didn't drink as much water as he should have. But thanks for asking. DD is always sick. It's just life. But with the new diet that I started on Friday, we've seen improvements already. I spoke with the Mayo last week, the new Rx the Dr. prescribed in January that was kicked back to them for a preauthorization was denied. I knew this would happen as it just seems to be every insurance companies MO. So I had to sign an authorization for them to appeal. Hopefully we'll get an positive answer in 2 weeks. This drug has been known to get rid of the bacteria in the small intestines. After this we're going to do a nerve interrupter type medicine. Because she is so use to having her stomach nerves be on edge, the Dr. thinks they need a break and that will hopefully give her nerves time to calm down and her a chance to not be consumed by it. Keeping my fingers crossed. OK, I have to go make breakfast and start my day. I'm hoping to have some time later this afternoon to create some digital pages at least. Because to do traditional I need to clean my space.

scrapincin, I am glad you are feeling somewhat better and that you have an appt. soon. I love your card for Maggie. I hope you are feeling well enough to do the organizing you want to do and a little scrapping too. Hugs. woodysbetty, I hope you enjoyed your niece's visit. I love having family drop by. It seems like we live so far apart that we don't get together often enough. So glad to see your smiling face popping up in the thread. grammadee, I am so proud of your Silhouette cutting. I think as you use it more you will love it and find that it is very fast to stick various colors on your mat and do a whole design in one cut. I would be lost without mine. Your layout is so cute. I love the steam on your cup. LisaDV, I am so happy that your computer is continuing to work. Technology can be so wonderful and so frustrating. Glad you found the "fix". I can't believe all you have been through with DD. I have great empathy. It's hard when doctors brush you off and think it's not serious. I hope the new diet continues to help. msliz, I loved seeing all your layouts last month. I love your style. I am sorry your DD seems to be going through some of the same things as LisaDV and @elaynef's daughters are experiencing. I am hoping each of you find the right cure for your sweet girls. @elaynef, I love the blue bonnet photo. I have always wanted to see a field of blue bonnets! Probably never will, but it's a dream. justjac, I still have some of your layouts to comment on. I will probably spend the whole month enjoying all the layouts from last month. There were so many and they are all so great. You sound so busy and yet you find time to scrap. I'm glad you keep your priorities straight. LOL Love your pages. We got the big storm yesterday that dumped about 6 inches of snow. It's not terribly cold though, and we are out of school today so it can be an inside day all day today for us. Thanks for all the suggestions about my Primary (Sunday School) class. I had so much planned yesterday that we ran out of time and can finish next week. I team teach with a friend who was out of town, so DH taught with me. It was really fun to have him there. I dug around here and came up with some Composition notebooks that were left over from Cousin Camp. We are using them as a journal in class. Most are Kindergarten so can't do much writing, but they can draw and color. They are such cute kids. Waving hello to kellyr21, maribeth, and any other Pokeys. I hope I am not forgetting anyone.

For those who asked about my Birthday calendar, I have just posted the headings in the gallery. They are long calendars 4x18 inches. Only the top needed to be decorated. I used Silhouette die cuts to represent each month. The birthdays and anniversaries can be added on the numbers below the month image. I am really enjoying it already.

nylene, I just left love for that calendar in the Gallery. Each month has the perfect image! Glad your class went well on Sunday and that your dh was able to help out. Bet the kids loved that. scrapincin, I am glad you are feeling a little better. I know dh swears that low air pressure amps up his arthritis pain, and rain and snow like you are describing usually means low pressure. I love your sweet card. I may have to lift it for one of my dgk's cards. LisaDV, I am glad your computer is back on track. We get so dependent on them that we feel pretty lost when off line. I asked dd to send some info about her fodmap diet experience and I will pass it on to you in a PM. She suggests you discuss it with a dietitian. She IS a registered dietitian and still had to do some research to clarify claims made by various authors and websites. I will forward you an app she feels is the easiet to use. Sounds like you had a wonderful weekend, woodysbetty. I have enjoyed waking up each morning and seeing a new page by you in answer to a challenge. Kinda missing it... msliz, that's too bad about the trees going down. Glad there wasn't more damage. I can't even imagine cutting grass around here for a couple of months! Hope if you do get some scrappy time, you will share it with us. justjac and I need to figure out how we are going to be registered for the April LSS crop. (Someone from each group has to be at the shop in person on Wednesday morning, I think. Need to check). We have had a quiet couple of days. The Brier (Canadian men's championship Playoffs) is on TV for about 9 hours per day, and dh is watching most of it. I have to admit of all sports, this is my favorite to watch, too, and the TV is right next to the door to my scraproom so even if I am not watching it I can certainly hear it, even if I am in here trying to scrap. I managed to finish a couple of pages today that I started yesterday. The last ones that I can claim points for here. They will also go into the Calvinball gallery. everything is better 1 by Gramma Dee, on Flickr everything is better by Gramma Dee, on Flickr I didn't clean my scraproom in time for 28-4-28 points, but I really need to go through my stuff and do more than just put it away. I have powered through a lot of papers and other materials, and some collections need to be put together with others, and my scraps need to be lassooed under control. I have plans (or at least titles) for about 8 more pages for my Winter album. Not sure if I will focus on getting them done and THEN tidy up? I guess it will depend on how much time I am losing LOOKING for STUFF that is buried under this avalanche of paper Okay, off to get supper ready before the next curling game starts on TV.

grammadee, I love your pages and left love in the gallery. Your scrap room sounds like mine. I need to go through my papers and put things back together. I can't believe how much paper I went through in the last month. My scraps need more than a lasso, I'm afraid. woodysbetty, I love your layout. I love the font on your title and all the little coffee embellishments you have used. Your morning of watching videos sounds wonderful. Since I no longer work, my early rising has become sleeping in. I chalk it up to getting older and needing more sleep....LOL. Several of you have asked if I made the headers for my calendar. They are all cut files. Some are Silhouette and some are Miss Kate's Cuttables and some are just free ones I have collected. It was really fun to pick and choose something to represent the month. Off to get something done. Have a great week, Pokeys!

I love your page, woodysbetty . I think the thing I enjoy most about retirement is that SECOND cup of coffee. I see that LisaDV has been busy creating this week. Loving all your Easter pages! I did a little housework today, and some planning for our family vacation in Orlando in August. Now that everyone's flights have been booked, I need to contact the resort to tweak a couple of days and make sure we are all located together. I am really excited about having everyone together for that week. Is it silly that I am also imagining the photo ops with all the cousins together and the scrapbook pages I will make afterward? Made a card for a friend who just received an award at work, but didn't get a photo of it before it went into the envelope. Dh is mailing it in the morning. Hoping to put together a couple of pages in the morning. TTYL

Super card, scrapincin ! I left some love in the Gallery. How nice of you to make cards for your friend! I usually make cards--except Christmas cards--one at a time, making each for the person who will receive it, but I think I should make up a batch of Get Well and Sympathy cards so I have one when I need it. What an inventive way to document a happy time with your niece, woodysbetty ! Over and above the story, I love the page colours and design. I finished two pages this morning, based on a couple of LO's I spotted in the Get It Scrapped Gallery. Here they are: debbiehodge.com/gisforum/index.php?app=gallery&image=50322 and debbiehodge.com/gisforum/index.php?app=gallery&image=50308 I think at least one of them was a digi page using a template, but I wanted to try this with paper and glue. I was drawn to how they used the triangles, and the contrast between the pp and the background. Here are my pages. When I see them side by side, I realize that I should have flipped one of them left to right to get opposite angles on the design, but they are what they are... celebrate 5 (one) by Gramma Dee, on Flickr Celebrate 5 by Gramma Dee, on Flickr

Happy Thursday! I am missing all the fun going on over here! I have to catch up on all your creations. I caught a cold on Monday and have been sick all week. So I've been taking it slow and still managed to do some art and made a card too. I will share and my art is coming along. I hope I can make it to art class tomorrow but might just stay in to make sure this cold do not get worse. scrapincin- WOW, what great cards you made!!! Your friend is gonna love them. Hope you are feeling better too. woodysbetty- WELCOME! I am Kelly from California and it is nice to have you here. nylene- I know your students just love having you as their teacher. scrapincin- love that heal card! Glad you were feeling well enough to make it. When I don't feel good, I can't even think about scrapbooking! woodysbetty-loved your idea for a page when you forgot to take a picture...great idea! nylene- I wish you could see a field of bluebonnets, too. We appreciate Lady Bird Johnson and her work with making Texas beautiful in the 1960's. My friends and I would make fun of her accent and quote her "Plant a tree, a bush or a shrub" with an exaggerated Texas accent, but what she accomplished was amazing. grammadee- I love your best part of winter page...my favorite colors lisadv- Thanks again to you and everyone else for thinking of my dd. Today is her appointment with the naturopath. She has been getting chiropractic treatments the last 3 days for the psoriasis in her hand. She also has an appointment with an allergist/immunologist in April. kellyr21 hoping you are better! misliz and justjac hoping things are well in your world! I have not done any pages, or even been in my room since I got home. Once I did laundry and a few chores, I collapsed and stayed on the sofa for 2 days and part of yesterday, too. I did get started on my taxes yesterday, but that was on the couch, too. I'm sure it's stress ..I'm trying not to worry, but I'm sure some of it seeps in. I thought I would show you my valentine, since I was not at home to show you earlier. I found this "shiplap frame" on clearance after Christmas for $4. It can stand on a table or be hung on the wall. I told dh this was his valentine. I'm working on some family pictures to put on it next. I also have been playing with my scrapbook on a table project. Someone in the ladies prayer group painted the cardinal on a brown paper bag. It came with a blanket for dd and I framed it and put a scrapbook from a photography workshop we went to last spring with lots of the birds and flowers photos we took, a card dd made me and some stuff from my tchotchke collection for spring. When I don't scrapbook, I scrapbook my house!
