Since HL had almost all of their rubber stamps on clearance, does this mean they are shrinking that section? I noticed that the diecutting section has been shrunk from 3 sections to 1, although that might just be temporary since planners were stuffed in next to the dies while they worked on the planner aisle.

Everything seems to be on clearance in the paper crafting section. I understand they are having to do away with at least one aisle in that section. Not sure what all is going to be permanently gone but I am sad for sure. I think they should get rid of some of the thousands of stickers instead of the other things they seem to be getting rid of.

Oh no!! I have not been in there since just before Christmas. I had no idea. I’m on a freeze. Good grief - I’m upset. I guess I should defrost!!

Oh truth right here. I am constantly flabbergasted by the endless rows of darice and jolee stickers in the big box stores. Nobody's ever in those aisles. You're gonna trim down your Tim Holtz, M's, and leave up two rows of tacky stickers? What the heck?

I rarely shop there for stamps and dies anyway since they don’t turn over stock very often. Same issue with Michael’s. In both stores some of those Jolene stickers are so old they have a dust layer on them. I know it will probably never happen but if big box stores carried newer, more popular products I think a lot of us would be more inclined to drop in regularly to see what was new. (I’ve read on past threads these stores only order 1/2 times a year anyway),

People (especially a lot of non-crafters who were working on a specific project) would specifically come in looking for stickers for graduation, Mother's Day, baby, travel destinations, etc. I personally would rather see good brands of course, but there is a big clientele that buys those stickers. Also, at one point, our store had moved and we had less stickers than we used to, meaning pretty much no stickers. We would get asked CONSTANTLY, are these all your stickers?! What happened to your stickers?!

I buy most of my stamps at convention or online. They really don't have many stamps that appeal to me. I'm sure I am not unique in that, so if their stamps, etc., are not selling well, they could be downsizing it.

I was told my a worker at HL that they are getting rid of most of the wood stamps and going with clear stamps. Sign of the times.

They have to move their stock out for several reasons. The more they sell the less they have to inventory, anybody working retail knows all about "inventory nights". Another is they don't want to pay inventory tax again on those products. And they want to make a profit on each item ... it's why they are in business. You'll be able to buy those old stamps at Tuesday Morning next month.

Tonight was the grand opening of a Hobby Lobby in a neighboring town. That's all they had were wooden stamps! I think there were maybe 5 sets of clear and a whole isle of wooden.
