I have probably 60 or so wood mounted stamps that I was storing on 2 of the large size picture ledges. I’m considering doing it again but it’s not really a system love so I thought I’d ask to see how most people store them. I don’t really want to unmount them-I tried it before with a couple of stamps and prefer them on the wood.
Second question is about storing distress inks. Right now I’ve got them in an Alex drawer tipped on their side, but I thinks I read something that they should be stored flat-especially the oxide ones. How do you store them?

I used to keep my wood stamps in plastic drawers, but I had so many stamps that I had to store them 3 deep. It made it hard to look through them.
I eventually unmounted mine, but I have since bought more rubber stamps that still need to be unmounted. Those are in a bin. Not ideal, either.

I store my wood mount stamps in an Iris 6 drawer cart along side my clear stamps.
All my inks are in a small 3 drawer Sterilite container. I have two layers of Distress inks. They stack nice.

I have my wood mounted stamps in the Alex drawers. My inks are in an old cassette tape wall unit hanging on the wall.

I have my wood stamps in clear plastic acrylic frames from one of the big craft stores. They’re in a cabinet my dh built, but would work in any shallow drawer, like the Alex ones

My original SU! wood mounted sets are still in there plastic boxes and because of this I rarely use them. I un-mounted a sentiment set that I use fairly regularly and have them stuck on laminated cardstock in AE pocket in my normal filing system. I need to put them in a DVD case like the newer SU! sets. Other individual purchased wood mounted sets are stored in a 3x3x14 Fridge Bin on a Kallax shelf. And the wood mounted background stamps are stored on a shelf that's easy to access.
For distress inks, I've only purchased the cubes and those go in the metal tins. Oxides are stored in a custom ink storage unit that a friend made for me.

All stamp supplies are stored in or on a flat file (ie discontinued PB 5-drawer cabinet; note the Ikea Alex on castors & Martha Stewart Craft flat files sold at Home Depot are alternatives). Inks & tools are housed in the first drawer, while wood-mounted & clear stamps occupy the other drawers (except small clear sets slid in divided trading card protectors & stored in a standard school binder kept on top of the cabinet, along with a serving platter where used stamps gather until being put away in the appropriate drawer).
Other storage options I've seen over the years include Ikea Ribba ledges, Ikea Kvlissle letter tray cube, tiered spice shelf organizers, metal rain gutters repurposed as shelves, clear photo frames used as trays, metal vents, etc.
Hope you find a solution that works for you!

I don't have many, but those I do I put into those 5x7 iris cases that are probably meant for cards or something. They just fit wood-mounted stamps, and they're clear, so I can see in. It's a bit of a tetris game to fit them, but then I put the cases all in a drawer and slide them in and out as I need them. I used to keep them in a pair of shoeboxes, but that just meant I never used them. Someday I'd like to de-mount them, buuuuut I'm way too lazy.

I love my wood mounted stamps. I keep some in an acrylic nail polish stand. Others I keep in an old printer’s tray mounted on the wall. And ones I don’t use often are in a box. I don’t want to unmount them either. Here is the nail polish stand. This is an old photo but it still works for some of my stamps. Makes a pretty display. As far as my inks, they are all upside down in my favorite Stampin’ Things holder my friend used to make and sell. She passed away from breast cancer so these are special treasures to me.

Patter I love your stamp holder! I’ve looked at variations of them, but I can’t justify the cost ... yet!

Tim Holtz has said that it does not matter which way we store Distress Inks. I store mine on their side too.

My wooden stamps are mostly Stampin' Up and in their cases on a media center shelf. The oxide inks are all together in a plastic box with a hinged lid so that I can grab them and go. I like to use these inks to layer so having them together makes less work getting them to the work table.

I store mine in two of these plastic carriers. They hold 12 inks and 12 bottles. So easy to pack for a crop.

I keep most of my wood mounted stamps in plastic cases I found years ago at Joann's. They fit a single layer of stamps, I have them on a shelf on their edge with the type of stamp images listed on the side facing out. I have my Distress Oxides in the Totally Tiffany Edna Buddy Bag www.totally-tiffany.com/craft-storage/organize-tim-holtz-distress-inks/I have my regular Distress inks in Tim's metal storage containers but (1) they are full and (2) one of them is falling apart.

I don't have very many wood-mounted stamps, but I have them in trays that I store stacked on my shelves. I don't remember where I saw this idea (probably here somewhere, lol) but I bought a few of these cheap plastic picture frames and use them as trays for storing my stamps in. plastic box frames
eta: I even keep the SU! sets I have in these trays-- I keep the sets in their individual boxes, but I keep the boxes in these trays. I also keep any Tim Holtz or CTMH unmounted sets in these trays- they're kept on the mounting sheet or in the envelope, but the storage sheets / envelopes are stored in the trays. (I used to keep my unmounted stamps in sheet protectors in a 3-ring binder, but I never used them when they were stored like that. Now, I keep my 'scrapbook' type unmounted stamps- calendar, journaling lines, words, etc.- all together in a 12x12 Iris box so I can take it with me to crops.) ETA2: I don't have any special storage for my full-size Distress inks, but I store all my mini Distress inks in a wooden cigar box-- also so I can transport them easily to crops.
