Anyone have any interest in participating in this and checking in with each other on the boards? I've always wanted to do it but never have. I think I will this year. I'm thinking of making a card a day. www.the100dayproject.org/

I've been thinking about it, but I can't find any central resource to look at what other people have done--I'd love if people could share links to other people's projects as well as their own so we can create a good resource. I have some ideas from a couple people I follow participating, but I need to see more of what worked/didn't work for others. Searching on pinterest or instagram isn't helpful because you get flooded with projects for elementary kids the 100th day of school (ha). I think a thread on here would be great to help share ideas!
So far I'm leaning towards doing 100 small organizational projects (tackling a different area in my house/life each day--some will be super small, like my pen collection) and then documenting it. I want to do this because I really feel like I need more organization in my life and it seems like a huge project that will break down into 100 small steps easily.
I've also thought about doing something more creative (I do a lot of paper + fabric crafting) but I can't think of many things I could really stick to for 100 days. Making a quilt and doing a square per day was really impressive when Elise Blaha Cripe did it, but I don't think I have the supplies on hand to really do that and I don't tend to like quilts with so much "stuff" on them (I'm more of a clean and simple kind of girl) so idk that I'd like how it comes out (although Elise's quilt is super cute and makes me consider it). Another creative project idea I had was to make 1 digital project life card per day, because I love to make my own supplies and would like a nice base of supplies to use. But I don't think this one is sustainable because I just don't have the time to sit at my computer every day and I'd really be restricted to only doing this when I'm able to get on my computer at home.
Lastly I've considered doing journaling per day--write a "story" from my life that I want to scrapbook. This seems like it would be a great collection, but I'm also concerned that it would take so much time I wouldn't actually work through scrapbooking the stories I'd already journalled and I currently document what I do every day using the Day One app (so that I have a record when I go back to create project life later). Since I already do Day One (and have since early 2015 pretty much every day) I don't think it makes sense to have a new project overlap so much.
So I am still thinking of what project I want to do, but I'd love to see inspiration and ideas on here, and when the project actually starts I'd love the support and accountability!

Sounds interesting, but I am not on Instagram. I don't scrap every day, but my goal is to complete one scrapbook page per day in 2018 ON AVERAGE, so I would hope to get 100 pages done in that time frame.
Would love to follow everyone's progress on the boards here.

I've been intrigued by this project before, and like you couldn't find a place to settle for encouragement etc... I'm also a bit like you in that I can't settle on a project to do for 100 days - digital something no doubt but what??? Curiously, since the 28-4-28 Challenge and now Calvinball I have made something every day this month - just finished today's effort. Perhaps I ought to start counting now?! I'm certainly willing to give it a go, if I pick something that will fit with what I already do, like messing about on the computer!

I have seen people doing it before and have been intrigued. On the link provided above, I found this - "All of the things that you get from doing #The100DayProject: the joy of creating, the sense of accomplishment that comes with self-discipline and working through resistance, honing your creative skills, and so much more."
I'm now moving beyond intrigued and considering what I might do for 100 days. Obvious answer is making cards. But, maybe .......

I have never heard of this. But can you have a broad topic? I was thinking after reading the link that using a pinterest inspiration every day. So it could be from lots of categories but have a central inspiration point.

I did it last year and made cards but people I followed did all sorts of things...take a photo with their DSLR, make a travel journal page, make a painting, draw a sketch, spend 5 minutes editing photos, you name it.

Elise Blaha Cripe was a good inspiration to me, last year she did 100 days of plants on fabric and made a quilt square every day using a different method to put a plant on it (stitching, paint, fabric piecing, etc.).
The year before she did 100 days of pep talks and then turned it into a book. If anyone has seen anyone else do an inspiring 100 days project please share!

It’s too much pressure for me. I’d just be setting myself up for failure! I enjoyed watching what others did last year, but was so glad I said no last time. Have fun for those who do participate!

I'm not sure that I want to commit to 100 days of something, but I've seen some cool projects on Instagram the last couple of years.
(Sorry I can't necessarily remember who did what so I can't link)
I've seen people do a project where there made one small thing each day - a pocket scrapbook card, a card, a quilt square, a crochet granny square, a drawing, etc, but I've also seen people do 100 days of stitching where they've had a bigger project like an embroidery they worked on, doing at least a few stitches each day. As much as it would be satisfying to complete a whole *thing* each day, not every project (or life) lends itself to that kind of commitment.
I like the idea of using this kind of project to develop a habit that I might want to continue - like reading at least one chapter of a book each day or journaling/writing notes about a book for 10 minutes each morning. I think it's also great to challenge yourself to develop a new skill - calligraphy or drawing or something else that really takes practice to get good at.
I could realistically make a small pencil sketch every day, no matter what else was going on (travel, etc) as long as I set myself an alarm. Maybe 15 minutes in a creative journal each day? Limited supplies would really help a lot too - only black ink, or something like that. I'd want the whole thing to fit into a little pouch or box so I could keep it nearby and take it with me.
I like the idea of creating a stash of finished cards but I'm just not the kind of person who works for a short time each day - I'd rather make 20 cards one day, then take a few days off, then make another dozen. I'm more of a sprinter!

I did handwriting practice one year but was only about 35% of the time. That whole daily thing is huge. Although I spent almost a whole year with the do something crafty for at least 10min everyday. I think because I could change up what I was working on.
If you have time, the 100 day challenge is a great idea.
If we do it on the board here I’ll give it another go with something.

I was thinking of doing 100 Days of hand lettering LisaDV! I have heard that daily practice is key. If you are interested in writing rukristen from the Awesome Ladies Project is sending a question a day with her newsletter. It’s an all about me type of thing.

That sounds more like journaling to me, but I love journaling and telling stories so I will look into that. Thanks. When I talk about hand lettering I think of it as more fancy. Like quotes or names in fancy lettering. I followed Dawn Nicole for many practice sheets and tips. If anyone is interested in hand letter.

One about hand lettering, and one to the group about a possible project someone else might want to check out. I have a hand lettering work book by Kelly Creates that I’m going to use. If I commit.

I've attempted in the past but never really committed to 100 days. It just is not in my lifestyle to do something like that. But I do like the idea of giving a focus to something and creating a habit.
I did try a card making project, but I did it more like one day I could just cut and fold some cards, or just color an image to use on a card. Not necessarily making a completed card everyday. I was happy because I still ended up with more cards than I normally make.
I feel like the longest I can do anything is the 30 day photo/prompt challenges.

I’m All In!
“For 100 Days, I will use creativity to express / illustrate my self-awareness.”
I see myself using everything and anything — poetry, taking photos, music, scrapbooking, journaling, charts, maps, cooking.
I don’t see this project this as limiting. I think it sounds like FREEDOM to CREATE and EXPRESS. I really need this in my life for so many reasons.

I like the idea. I agree that it could be difficult to commit. I travel almost every week out of the country for work. That doesn't mean that I couldn't do like joblackford has suggested and keep it simple with limited supplies. I just need to make them very limited and no liquids more than 100mL.

I read something tonight that made me think. The 2 Minute Rule by James Clear. There are days - like today - where everything I do is rubbish. I started a video recording no less than five times. Gave up. I tried to make a page for my traveler's notebook. Rubbish. I tried to watch a TV programme. I fell asleep, sat up at my desk. I wrote a post here. It sounds bloomin' awful even though the idea is what I wanted to say. I hurt everywhere. I'm feeling very sorry for myself. What is the point? I asked myself. Before I read James's article I decided to spend just five minutes making something, a simple background, anything. Just so I could tell myself I managed something today. It worked and I almost have a page. What if our 100 Days is as simple as doing something, anything, for just 2 minutes? Who says we have to finish a drawing, or a page, or a card? What if all we do is commit to starting? Every day for 100 Days. What if it's something we already half do? As James says, eat a piece of fruit. Or go for a walk. For me, it might be opening the back door and taking a breath of fresh air. I haven't put my nose out of the door in about two months. Maybe I do 2 minutes of arm swings, or wiggle my legs. Maybe I could try smiling for no reason at all. Maybe I could say/write a kind word to someone. For 2 minutes I'm sure I could do something. This quote always makes me smile... from Anthony Trollope. 'A small daily task, if it be daily, will beat the labors of a spasmodic Hercules.'

I did the 100 day project last year. At the start I made the project very vague, I just wanted to get into the habit of creating or doing *something* with my hands. It's really interesting how you get into a groove though and the vast majority of my 100 things turned out to be little watercolour drawings. Nothing special and there were days (quite a few actually) I didn't do everything, I ended up cheating a bit on the last day of the project and crammed in about 30 different drawings onto two pages and called it a day. There's actually no pressure to be really strict and to something every day for 100 days, the organisers were pretty clear on that last year. It's worth signing up to the mailing list on the main website, but Instagram is where it's at. I've met some super people from following the #100dayproject hashtag and it's great for inspiration too, obvs. But it would be really brilliant to have a thread here too for encouragement. I still don't know what I'm going to do this year. It'll either be lettering practice (or at least learning to love my handwriting) or more line drawing/watercolours, but with a more focussed aim. Maybe drawing things from nature I've found around me or... I don't know actually. It would be great if I can get it to tie in with my One Little Word somehow too.
