Okay, you enabler you...on the fence over here. This one is 6 qt, which in a slow cooker is way too big for most things for us. So is it really big and needing to be filled up in order to be useful?
And I saw that it does rice and acts as slow cooker, does anyone know how well it does these things?

I would imagine the slow cooking function is fine, since it also comes with a glass top that doesn't pressurize. I have no idea about the rice, but I'll let you know. I'm sure since they sold over 100K of these today that they will get them back again. 6 qt is an average size as a pressure cooker. Unlike a slow cooker, you NEVER fill it completely. 4/5s at most. You can get by with it only being 1/5 full, or a little more than a quart, which is not much at all. Fine for one or two people.

She is definitely an enabler!! LOL I had kept the QVC TSV email in my inbox and kept checking it all day without ordering. Then, elaine says that 4 colors were already sold out so I figured I better jump on it. LOL It's all her fault!! I was only trying to repay whomever here enabled me to buy my Silhouette Cameo that I love, but was three times as expensive. I haven't splurged for one of those..................yet! I have thought about it but so far, have decided I never used my Cricut enough to justify another purchase. So far, it is working. LOL The pressure cooker is something I have been thinking about getting for a while. So, while your post about 4 colors being sold out is what made me jump on it when I did, it wasn't a totally out of the blue purchase. I can't completely blame you. I'm sure there are other peas to blame too if I could find old 2Peas pressure cooker threads. LOL

Hopefully they'll come around again (and now I HAVE to go check at Costco, lol).
I've had two pressure cookers (back in the 90s) but not electric ones. Lost the 'bell' somewhere along the way. These new ones sound like they do a lot more than my old ones did. Even back then, it used to take about 15 minutes for steamed artichokes and those ladies in the video were talking about foods taking 5 mins or less!
Hee, the Silhouette Cameo is on my wishlist now too, since stupid darn cricut won't talk to my computer anymore (of course it failed when I needed to make some Disney photo props for DD (adult DD)'s birthday.

I didn't think you could do any canning with this types of pressure cookers. I have pressure canners that I can in but they have some big differences. I downloaded the manual for this one and it has canning directions! It does say not to can meat or fish in it, only fruits and veggies. It goes to 12 psi, which is higher than my Cuisinart, which is 10 psi. You out can download the manual from the QVC page. Oh, wow... Perfect for making small batches of things for Christmas presents. Superb data point for explaining the purchase.

So those that use one, do you put frozen meat in it? When I did some searches about that all of the ones I saw said not to. As an aside, Cooks Illustrated just did an article on frozen meats and how it may in fact be a better way to cook meat. They did not talk about pressure cooking, but did explain how freezing and then cooking works on the muscle fibers etc. Worth looking up if you have a CI subscription.

Thanks for posting this update. I just changed my order from red to cinnamon. I wish I'd gotten in earlier so I could have had the green.
