I think 12 pages that I didn't make into a separate album.. it was part of a vacation, ... I don't typically MAKE separate vacation albums (our two-week trip to Hawaii is the first separate vacation album(s) I've ever made), so anything else is fair game to get as many layouts as I want, and they all go into my 'regular' albums... which are kind of of separated by theme already, I guess-- home and family vs. places we go-- but I don't do chronological / yearly albums.

Like others have said, if it were me, I'd include a couple of pages in Project Life and in my daughter's album. If I wanted to do more than say 3 or 4 LOs about it, I'd do a mini album.

I typically don't either.. everything goes right into my albums... I just go chronological as best as I can. There are a few books though I do otherwise.. my sb retreats.. didn't think those need to go with family stuff and then trips I took by myself for work in which I did fun stuff on the side by myself. Didn't feel those needed to go with 'family' books. And one more.. DH and I went to Vegas and I made an album out of that... lots and lots of Vegas'y type layouts... so thought they needed a book. Gives me an excuse to use those cute 12x12 post albums.. I like my 3 ring binders for everything else.

I did entire albums for my annual Halloween party back when my nieces and nephew were young. I say make as many layouts as you want.

@kimberlyatlga 13 layouts so far too! nancydrew Yass! I completely agree! mikklynn Thank you. It was a fun day indeed. Now I'm having fun scrapping! Kath I've always tried to limit my pages, now I'm trying not to mind the space taken and just enjoy creating! gramma I understand. It's good that you found a good solution for you. Space is what I was concerned about, but overthinking my pages took all the fun out of scrapping. 950nancy I wish I could like your post a dozen times! Thank you. julie5 Absolutely! I do that too. crimsoncat05 Same here. mikklynn I start with the journaling and then adds photo that support it. If I have much to say, it's hard to sum it up on one layout. But I'm pretty sure it would be the same if I had beautiful pictures and would like to talk about it and convey my experiences. workingclassdog I like this. It must have been very interesting! thriftyjenny 4x6 do take a lot of space! But I can't blame it on that in my case as I'm scrapping 3x4 lately! donna Thank you. I'm sure your husband and BIL will love all your layouts. So many things to scrap during a birthday, right? Especially for twins!

meridon I understand your point of view. I don't do PL and I always end up overthinking mini albums, though. thracian Thank you. I've been scrapping seriously for a decade, almost two total. I used to limit my number of layouts. But summaries and restrictions don't make scrapbooking fun. This year, I'm determined not to care about space. That's why I was wondering what your max number of layouts was.

we went to Hawaii for just under 10 days, and so far I have two 12x12 albums in process, and I'll probably be making a mini album, too!! I love vacation pictures too and have so much fun with them.

Do what makes you happy!!! And with however many layouts it takes! There are no rules.
I'm all about the story and separating the stories out as the best make sense to me.

I do as many layouts as I need to tell the story/share the photos - sometimes that's one single page/single photo layout, sometimes it's multiple layouts or even a whole album.
