I was thinking about a few cute things DD did as a little one that I haven't scrapped yet. One was the Dr. Phil thing when she was nursing that I mentioned in another thread. Another was when she was about three. We were up a little earlier than usual. She was looking out a window as the sun was coming up and there were beautiful, colorful clouds in the sky. She said, "We waked up the clouds." It was so adorable it gives me cute aggression. I need to scrap that story.
What story haven't you scrapped? Maybe you don't have a picture or it's just been on your to do list forever. What's the story? If you do scrap it feel free to share it here.

Every day I hear a song that triggers a memory I feel like I should get down on paper. For instance, "Oh what a night" was just on the radio earlier and that was the song I heard as I was crossing the Ben Franklin Bridge when I moved out of Philly back to NY. I remember thinking good riddance and thank god I don't have to come back but I was also soooooooo happy to be moving back home. Then there was the side story that I drove home in a blizzard so it took 6+ hours to drive 100 miles. When I got home, I was super lucky to find a parking spot and I got to floor the gas pedal to get the car over the mound of snow in the way. That's a whole lot of memory for just one song. I don't have pictures of any of this but I am sure I could find a picture of the car and d/l a pic of the bridge, etc.
I keep telling myself I should at least start a list.

I have to give this some thought, but certainly I would like to add cute things my boys said possibly to pages I've already done.
I will revisit and edit as I run things through my mind.

Too many. Most of my photos don't need stories, and I like scrapping that kind of page. But then I have a whole lot of stories with no photos, and I've never scrapped one of those. I really should write them down. I've been meaning to, but you know what they say about good intentions.

It isn't a cute story. I need to write about how my brother-in-law realized I was about to drown and saved me just in time. This was at a water park. It later closed after someone else actually died.

My son's car accident - he had the car 2 weeks, was driving on a winding road in the evening, just 5 mins up the road from our house. His tyre blew, he wound up in a ditch, and had to climb out the smashed windscreen. If it happen 20 seconds later (give or take), he would have hit another vehicle. I actually heard the ambulance going up the hill towards his accident.
I took photos of his car the day afterwards, and still tear up when I think how much worse it could have been. I just don't know *how* to scrap this....

There are some things which are hard to scrapbook. For about a year and a half I did calendar pages and forced myself to scrapbook even the hard times. I rarely include those, but I am glad that I did during that period of time.
I prefer to scrapbook the good times, but sometimes even the frightening or painful memories should be told. Otherwise our family may think our lives were all smooth sailing and happy all the time. That would be a very unrealistic picture.
My siblings and I are trying to get the story of our mom's life written. Once I get my part of that done, I need to work on mine. I liked the thread recently about scrapbooking without pictures. It got me thinking about recording some of the stories that need to be told that were not exactly Kodak moments. And of course, the funny stories need to be told, too. I just wish I had a better memory for some of those.
I wish I had written down the cute and funny things our kids said when they happened, but as a young mom, I was busy and didn't do it.
