Wouldn’t it be great to be able to go to Michael’s and buy a pad of subtle background papers? I use card stock some but like to mix it up with patterned papers as well. I wish I had access to a LSS so I could just go in and buy some easily. It can be so hard to make those kinds of decisions online.

@elaynef, didnt you get a pad that was kind of prescrapped in soft colours, but you could add lots of layers if you chose?
Lawn Fawn has had some soft watercolour papers and a few Mad for Plaid collections that have fairly light colours. I think I have seen some Ella & Viv collections that are pretty versatile as well.

I hear you. I'd love to get a pad of American Crafts B-sides - in my case in 6x6 for cardmaking, but a 12x12 pad would work OK too. It annoys me that when I get a paper pad it's usually just the garish (lately, anyway) A-sides.
Hopefully some folks here can suggest some options for you.

I really like these. I got them at Michaels, a few months ago. The brand is mymomento. I found them online but not these particular pads. So far, I have found them to work with everything. There is a variety of colors and 3 of each . Its heavy cardstock. Maybe someone can find them online. However, I think the one you are thinking about, grammadee, is my lazy scrapbooker pad. I got it at Michaels, too, but it is not very versatile. www.michaels.com/lazy-scrapbooker-paper-pad-by-recollections/10522361.html

Maybe you can buy a paper pad with 2 sided paper and use it backwards. Just kidding but it's the first thing I thought of!

Maybe use a sheet of vellum over your cardstock to soften the look before you make your l/o. I prefer a softer background usually.

Do you have a Tuesday Morning near you? They usually have a good selection of name brand paper pads. For 6 or 7 dollars you can get a few, throw out the A sides and just keep the B sided papers.

My girlfriend just bought this and shared half with me. I’ve already used it for a background. I was recently at HL and it was on he clearance wall.

I agree, but I want bright pure tones, not distressed or muted. donna, you are beautiful and have a smile that would light up a room.

When I place an on-line order...which isn't often, I got through the sale items and look at the backside of the papers and get them at a discount. Then I keep an upright file case and they are all sorted by color, available when I need them.

I find that although Graphic 45's A-sides are often busy, they're B-sides usually work well for backgrounds. Some collections have nice pale colors, while others have bold dark colors.
